Another 4 letter word: Love
Last night, my honey and I sat down to watch President Obama give his State of the Union Speech, and this morning I feel better than I have in a long, long time. But I knew even before-hand that this would be a momentous and game-changing speech. How, you may ask? Well, let me tell you!
I should tell you that I live in the Boston area, and a few months before Obama's election, a reporter named Marjory Eagan wrote a column stating that all these women had contacted her with the odd story of having had a sexual dream about Barack Obama! Yes, her e-mail was flooded with women who had all had the same dream...maybe not in detail, but in content.
And, lo and behold, I too had had a dream about the soon-to-be President! But it was not sexual in nature...not at all.
My dream was of Barack Obama and myself sitting at a table in a little diner. It was dark, and there was a candle on the table between us. After a few moment of just eye contact, Mr. Obama reached across the table and handed me a piece of paper which had 4 lines written on it, in poetry form. I can't remember the exact words, but it was something about planting seeds and they will grow. Something about soil and earth and renewal......
When I woke up, there was a great feeling of peace, and "everything will be allright".
So, when I heard that other women had had dreams of Obama, it was one of those strange moments in time. I knew there was something auspicious about him. Something magical. Something pre-ordained.
And I'm no eternal optimist, believe me. I have been so down on this country since Bush and Cheney were in charge. I am no Pollyanna either, believing there is good in everybody. I know better than that. But there is something about Barack Obama that is "un-catchable", something child-like and trusting behind the wisdom. I wonder that his mother must have put some very strong caring qualities in him at an early age.
I came to listen and observe him very carefully from then on. One little trick I like to do is turn the sound off on the tv and just watch when a person is talking--see how they move, their facial expressions, their little oddities of behavior...
And with Obama, there is no doubt he has a great smile...and a great laugh too. This tells me a lot on a personal level, as nothing is more important than laughter. And a positive glow just shines from him.
Well, so-- not too much longer after that, I was blogging on the local blog and we were talking about Obama. The song "Let it Grow" by Eric Clapton suddenly popped into my head, and it was then that the gist of my dream hit me! I understood what Obama was trying to tell me.
It's in the words of the song itself:
"Time is getting shorter and there's much for you to do.
Only ask and you will get what you are needing,
The rest is up to you.
Plant your love and let it grow."
The answer to our dilemma in this world is to love! Plant your love as a seed, nurture it, and it will grow. It's the same message Jesus sent. Same message Ghandi sent. Same message Martin Luther King and Malcolm X at the end of his life sent. It's what we all used to learn long ago. Love is the answer. All you need is Love. Remember?
It was then that I knew that the 60's vibe IS back. We have a golden opportunity here and now to choose a new way of operating in the world.
And I read all the negatives, all the accusations, all the dire warnings about Obama. But I just don't believe them. My heart and my intuition tell me different.
It's time for us to reclaim what was killed the last time around by the barrels of Industrial Guns. It's time to remember what the 60's stood for before the agents of the dark side infiltrated and destroyed all that was good....and murdered many a good fighter for truth, justice and love.
The difference now is that we are the agents of infiltration. We are the ones operating in secret in order to destroy the growing cabal. And the best thing about it is they can't touch us. They can't stop a prayer!...a positive thought!...an intention of love!
It's as simple as that. And old as time.

Chaldea...just the name sounds romantic! In many ways, we have lost the romantic, the spectacular and the sublime from our daily lives. I seek to re-kindle that fire.
Have followed my sign diligently since learning of it: associated with it, agreed with the ideals it represents....only to find out in my 30's that I, and others, have been following the wrong sign!
