E = M x C squared

Who were these people of such renown,

an intelligence, beyond all to be found,

the speed of light and of its mystery,

the traveling in time, just how this to be?

Who painted the Sistine Chapel,

the great sculptures done, and works to shout,

who was Michael Angelo, Da Vinci, and Rodin,

what were they thinking about,

Was Einstein and Edison, Tesla and Ford,

in their abilities, then to be all so dumb,

Bell, Hans christian, Churchill. and Strauss,

just to compensate for their loss?,

Did who these men became, regard their blame,

as to be so withered, and all called, the lame,

their flag of the handicapped, then unfurled,

to Make such contributions to the world?

Within the speed of light, and with such a might,

all gave to us the gifts of who we are, the rights,

met their challenges, great, to soar above the heights,

to arise and then to make their gallant fights,

Why does society mistreat, the needy, on the street,

not regarding the lame, or to help the weak,

showing little care, save for advice, or a wooden chair,

then leaving those in need, a life so bleak?

Would we have all become, what we consider so dumb,

not to survive and to do, just half as well,

If we had ignored the gifts, of the few who gave the lifts,

would our culture then to be, but a shell?

The finest music to come, from simple strings that strum,

the most marvelous, in all its own symphony,.

and In this life so grand, we all get a helping hand,

from the gifted ones, who may be the hardest to see.

Who would ever suspect that many our great inventors, artists, musicians and writers of fiction, were handicapped in some way and yet, overcame to become among the greatest contributors to humanity?.

Profound! I agree the beauty of their work was their expression of life. They overcame their handicap and provided us with the beauty of their work as a result.

Stunningly profound piece! This is so true, that those afflicted with some sort of handicap are able to go way beyond those who have no limitations, and we all should reflect on that truth. This is so lovely on many levels. Voted Way Up In His Love, Faith Reaper

Thank you Faith Reaper, for this wonderful appraisal of my work. I do so hope all who read will understand my message of sharing that so many who are judged ill prepared, shine through with flying colors.
