Is Mr. Obama Muslim, Christian or None of the Above?

Obama and his affinity for the Muslim faith

Let me clarify right from the onset lest I receive vitriolic comments from those who disagree. I – unlike the creator of this video of President Obama's speech in Cairo, do not really believe Mr. Obama is a faithful Muslim. I do however, question his “Christian” proclamations. Judging him by his fruit, he isn’t Christian either. The group: Christian anti-Defamation Commission gives a very compelling seven reason listing as to why President Obama isn’t a Christian.

[Also note: The title embedded on the video was not made by me.]

As a Christian myself, I would have to agree with the Christian anti-Defamation Commission. I might even say, “Senator, I served with Christians, I know Christians, many Christians are friends of mine. Senator, you're no Christian.”

Seriously, it’s not whether he is or isn’t a Muslim, or if he is or isn’t a Christian actually. It is that he isn’t telling us the truth about himself no matter what religious faith he does or does not cling to. His own words reveal this very clearly.

Does he have a contempt for Christians and Christian leaders and even the Bible? Does he dare to mock Jesus Christ?

Pay close attention here – he never uses the phrase: “Holy Bible”. He uses the words, “scripture” and “bible” only. Yet in this video he never deviates, not one time, from saying with great reverence and even with an Arabic pronunciation “The Holy Koran.” Important point here folks. Don’t overlook that.

He shows arrogant disregard for his own religion? Mocks passages from the HOLY Bible? Speaks with disdain about the very words of Jesus Christ’s most renowned sermon? Yet shows respect and regard for the Koran? One might say, "What's up with that?!"

I post this video, not because I believe he is a Muslim. But to point out the fact he appears to dislike Jews as he dislikes Christians – all one has to do is look at his record as President.

Constant parties hosted by him in the White House for Muslims, dinners honoring holy days, bowing to Muslims. Photo ops with Muslims too. What is the equivalent for Jewish dignitaries and heads of state?

I wonder how can one dislike a group – Christians, a group he claims he is a card-carrying member of? Here I refer to his clinging to their “guns and religion” remarks when he thought the world wasn’t listening. I lived in PA. That part of PA is essentially white working-class and Christian. So he definitely was making derogatory remarks about Christians, make no doubt.

I like this next link because it explores other stunningly bone-headed quotes mostly by Democrats – (if the shoe fits…) as well as interesting commentary while Mr. Obama was running for office.

Oh that we had listened to the warning bells sounded by those who wrote this article and those who warned us of the U.S. not needing an elitist in office:

There are so many things wrong with Mr. Obama’s superior, snooty, obnoxious quote:

You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And it’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

Pretty much speaks for itself.

How did middle America who voted for Mr. Obama and now regret it not know from this off-handed quote alone that he would be bad news as our President? [She asks incredulously]

I also believe President Obama dislikes the U.S.A. I believe this is so because of his love for Islam and Muslims combined with his apology tour and bowing before Arab dignitaries. Never, in our history has any President bowed like this to anyone (as shown in the video here). I won't at this time, get into the message I believe he was sending with the bowing thing.

There is little doubt that while I do not believe he is a religious or practicing Muslim, he greatly esteems them. To say the very least.

Which of course, in and of itself isn’t wrong. What is wrong has been the President’s remarks with regard to Christians, American citizens and lately, with the building of a Mosque on the grounds of 9/11.

We know how Mr. Obama feels about citizens, even large groups of them – who disagree with him. He stoops to gutter talk about huge segments of our citizenry: (Obama uses a crude sexual reference with regard to the Tea Party referring to them “waving tea bags” which is obviously a reference to the term “tea baggers” often used by the left.)

The list goes on and on regarding the hubris and polarizing speeches and crude thoughtless words this President uses. He didn’t take the oath of his office for all the citizens of America. He didn’t swear to uphold the Constitution for every citizen. Only those citizens who agree with his radical beliefs and apparently those of the Muslim faith (when you listen to this video you may agree).

When was the last time you heard him make this kind of speech for all of the people of the United States? Including Christians, Jews and those who disagree with him? Watch the video and see what I mean.

I have not heard, even one time, nor read anywhere, anyone who even hints that the developers of the mosque on 9/11 sacred ground do not have the right to build a mosque there. This is the consummate liberal straw man. Here is just one of their ridiculous arguments: “You are a bigot. Why should a church be allowed to be built there but not a mosque?”

Simple answer: “Because a Christian church was destroyed in the 9/11 holocaust and if there are those who want to rebuild that Christian church, they have a right, even a duty to rebuild it on the same spot.”

There are some 1000 mosques built in New York city alone. I never blogged about them, I never wrote or said they shouldn’t be where they are. The one on ground zero should never, ever be built. It’s unconscionable that it is even suggested that it be built.

I post this video because of something else important I wanted to point out as well.

Liberals love to toss their noses up in the air as if from a lofty perch. They look down on us low-lifes bereft of any brain, because we know President Bush was the kind of President for the times as well as a smart, savvy President. And we are unapologetic. Was he perfect? Hardly. But he was a good if not great President, a great man, a great husband, father and one who truly cared for our military.

Unlike, unfortunately our current President. With specific regard to being savvy and intelligent that is.

Come to think of it, if anyone espouses a conservative/Republican/Judeo-Christian point of view – liberals like to label them all idiots. Their icons are always oh so much smarter…

Oh really? I give you Joe Biden.

Nuff said about him.

I give you Al Gore. OK – I grant you--his invention of the Internet was da bomb (wink, wink) and he did save the planet from all of that made up—ahem—disastrous imminent global warming—why just mentioning his name conjures up images of Einstein and brain surgeons…

Which brings me to some of Mr. Obama’s comments here in his Cairo speech.

Liberals are so far superior, so darned smart. Their chosen leader, President Obama is of course the very smartest in the world! Even the universe! How do we know this? In this video, he lists all the innovative accomplishments by Muslims.

What? There are just a teeny tiny few problems with the list?

Let's see...

He literally brags about being “a student of history,” then goes on to make colossal historic blunders just for starters:

As a student of history, I also know civilization's debt to Islam. It was Islam – at places like Al-Azhar University – that carried the light of learning through so many centuries, paving the way for Europe’s Renaissance and Enlightenment. It was innovation in Muslim communities that developed the order of algebra; our magnetic compass and tools of navigation; our mastery of pens and printing; our understanding of how disease spreads and how it can be healed. Islamic culture has given us majestic arches and soaring spires; timeless poetry and cherished music; elegant calligraphy and places of peaceful contemplation. And throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.

The Muslims didn’t invent or give us any remarkable innovations with regard to the compass. The Chinese did.

The quill pen was used to write the Dead Sea Scrolls – at least two centuries BC. BM too - Before Muslims as President's luck would have it------before the Muslim faith existed.

Even this slanted view of Islam admits that the actual faith – as founded by the “prophet” Mohammad was founded in 610 AD.

Muslims and printing – Now this I didn’t need to look up.

Hello! When I think history and printing innovations, somehow Muslims don’t leap to mind. The Chinese and GERMANS are known for printing. The Chinese invented it and the Germans made the printing press that was capable of printing on paper. Muslims have never been noted for their contribution with regard to the printing press or anything else related.

Religious tolerance and racial equality?

This was his attempt at bad humor, right?? Hearing brought back the old M.C. Hammer song with that catchy line, “Can’t touch this…” Won't touch that nonsense. Muslims tolerant - now that's a knee-slapper!

I can only imagine if George Bush uttered these same things in a speech – essentially made-up fanciful antidotes about Christians and their historical contributions to the world. I can picture the late night comedians and what-not lambasting George Bush ad nauseam for sounding like such an idiot...

The left repeatedly hammered George Bush for supposedly knowing there were no WMD’s and lying to the American people and Congress about it. Not at all true. But liberals and the media ran with it and still spout it today like mind-numbed followers of a cult. When they thought Bush was lying they went berserk. How many lies do we know Mr. Obama has told us?

He didn’t know Wright said those things.

I am the only candidate who isn’t taking a dime from Washington lobbyists.

Insurance rates wouldn’t rise with Obamacare.

My School In Indonesia Was Christian. [according to his own book he was registered as a Muslim and got in trouble in Koranic studies for making faces.]

Obamacare would be paid for by weeding out all the waste in Medicare and Medicaid.

Medicare/Medicaid costs would never rise.

You could keep the insurance you have if you want to.

Elect him and his economic plan would prevent unemployment from rising past 8%.

Gee---If I listed all the lies he’s told I’d be doing nothing but making long, long lists to post here on this Hub.

Some may wonder if the biggest lie might be that he is a Christian. After listening to this video, and putting together the circumstantial evidence, they certainly have a strong case.

Barack Hussein Obama is the President of the United States. He, as all leaders are chosen by God to lead . It is by God's will that any leader rises to lead. The matter is superfluous. Good or bad, he was chosen to lead. I back this up with the coin story about Jesus. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's.

It matters only to the extent that he lied to his supporters, but all candidates do that.

Not my point Druid, sorry. You've missed the point entirely. God either chose or ALLOWED Mr. Obama to be President - as detailed in Job - God either allows things to happen - a reading of Job is an excellent and clear example of this - or He causes it. However, not the point. Regardless - thanks for your comments.

Excellent look at this perplexing issue. Personally speaking I would say that Obama is a hybrid who leans more towards Islam. Let's face it, if he said he was a Muslim would he have been elected? Probably not. He went to Muslim schools and he practiced Islam as a child. His mentor, Rev. Wright, was a Muslim at one point in his life. which explains how they found each other. The most important part of all this is that he is not being straight with the American people. His past is still a closed book and I can form no other conclusion, other than that he has a lot to hide. Rated up, up, up!

Good hub Sis. Obama also said that Islam has always been a presence in America...that's not true either. He just falls all over himself to praise Islam. I think he is Muslim...he doesn't practice because he doesn't want anyone to know. And remember...He can lie without guilt as a Muslim as long as he does it to further the cause of Allah!

Exactly Pop! Mr. Obama is not being straight with the American people - my main point with this Hub. And unfortunately - that's only one of his many grave flaws. Thanks for stopping by Pop - your comments are much appreciated.

There were a few other things Mr. Obama got so wrong in his speech I didn't get to - and you pointed out one of those things Sis. I didn't want my blog to go into encyclopedic proportions - so I kept it at only some of his grave errors. And the liberals call Mr. Bush or Sarah Palin stupid..what a joke!

Wow, excellent job! If as he claims, that he is a Christian, he is the most lukewarm one I have ever heard of. With no reverence for the Word of God, passion in his faith (at least Christian faith) he says in words that he is a Christian. I, as a believer, judge him not by his words, but I do hold him by is actions. We have all been led to believe by mom, that actions speak louder than words. His actions do not say Christian.

cjv123 profile image

cjv123 6 years ago from Michigan Author

Very well said Joni. I bristle (I confess) when someone says, "You can't judge someone." That has always been taken out of context just as "Money is the root of all evil." It's the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. It is the same with people saying we can't judge someone.

Yes I can. The Bible tells me how I can judge them.

We will know them by their fruit. The fruit of Mr. Obama does not speak "Christian." We can judge him by his fruit as Christians.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments.

I've read that a couple of times he insisted a cross be covered where he was speaking. Also, he wrote in one of his books he would stand with the muslims...did he mean against the Jews? Or against Christians, too?

he said the same thing he said in his book that he said in his speech! You bring up a very valid question sheila!

CJV, whether he actually practices any religion is still a mystery, however some of his actions make you wonder: he did cover up the cross at a speech at Georgetown, and did have Rahmadan at the WH while canceling the Christian diner, and one of the first executive orders were to reversed Bush’s executive order on faith based initiatives, the Establishment of the President's Advisory Council for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Actions speak louder than words!

cjv123, I respect your right to express your views, opinions, and criticism on everything, but I am curious as to how you can write under your main profile, "Living for Christ with a passion to write," and then turn around and slander other people's reputation to gain public interest? I'm curious just to know how you can claim "Living for Christ," but your words show otherwise. The only reasoning is that you could possibly be a "Christian Libertarian." and therefore, you vote neither Republican nor Democratic, which is also your freedom and right to vote as you choose. Just wondering.

cjv123 profile image

cjv123 6 years ago from Michigan Author

Excellent question Rookie 70. As a Christian who not only reads, but studies the Bible continually - I know that Jesus called people out - publicly - when they sinned. I do not "slander" Mr. Obama here. The definition of "slander" is:

"the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation : he is suing the TV network for slander. Compare with libel .

• a false and malicious spoken statement : I've had just about all I can stomach of your slanders.

verb [ trans. ]

make false and damaging statements about (someone) : they were accused of slandering the head of state. See note at malign."

I do not make false statements here in any way that I can see about Mr. Obama. I tell the truth about him. I state what I have observed/read about him, provide the links to back my position and I judge him by his fruit.

As a Christian for over 20 years, I not only study the Bible but I fellowship with many other Christians both in my life where I live as well as on-line. There is absolutely nothing in the fruit of Mr. Obama that would indicate he is what he claims to be - a Christian. There is nothing slanderous about that. I'm calling him out with regard to my observations of Mr. Obama's actions, words and deeds. The Bible tells me to do so:

1 Timothy 5:20

Those who continue in sin rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also will be fearful of sinning. NAS

In context verse 24 pretty much repeats our duty even more strongly:

The sins of some men are quite evident, going before them to judgement; for others their sins follow after.

Read in context - even though "Elders" are to be respected, if they sin, they are to be called on it.

No one who promotes the wholesale slaughter of helpless pre-born children AND who promotes infanticide could possibly be a Christian in their heart. He figuratively has blood on his hands. So immediately, Mr. Obama denies the very faith he claims to have by those deeds alone. The other matters above, and given the fact he is constantly referred to as being "Spiritual" by his spokesmen negates his being a Christian. Real Christians don't call themselves spiritual as that infers "New Age" or "Pagan" beliefs.

He was recently seen going to church. Only the FOURTH time in his Presidency. He claims zero denomination and had time to attend to multiple Muslim holy day recognitions, chances to worship with Muslims - going to a Mosque and calls the Koran holy yet treats the Bible as a joke never using the word "Holy" when referring to it.

There is absolutely nothing slanderous about the things I wrote - it's all true.

Thank you for asking though. I appreciate your concern and I commend you for being civil even though you disagree. Carol

If you have to keep trying to convince people you are a Christian, then you have a problem! We all fall short of the glory of Jesus, but you should live your life to glorify the Lord. You should not be ashamed to talk about Jesus. You will hear politicians talk about God, but not Jesus. They might offend someone and that is politically incorrect.
