"It's Still The Economy, Stupid!"

Have you ever noticed that very rarely does Obama talk about our national debt? Does it indicate to you that he doesn't care anything about paying it off? Or has no inclination to pass or have a balanced budget passed? How about those high gas prices? How have his domestic energy production policies affected your wallet? Why is it that though Obama promised us that if his almost $1 trillion in stimulus was passed that unemployment would never rise above 8% and when it did that he wants to blame everyone but himself? He's the one who proposed it and said it, no one else did.

Right now Team Obama wants to talk about anything and everything but what has an adverse, or positive impact, upon the average American. There's the "War on This" and the "War on That" but rarely is the economy mentioned by Obama except to make more empty promises about what he 'CAN' do if we only give him four more years. He was a crap shoot the first time and it turned out badly. So we pick up the dice and do "what" again? Why?

This election has to do with Obama failing to produce after making umpteen promises to suck you in if you were indeed that stupid to be sucked in. This election is about the ECONOMY and not all the Team Obama side show acts being performed in the Circus Obama main tent.

Blunders? Not Just Lies...

Lets talk FACTS again. I know they are those pesky things liberals avoid but it seems that in less than four short years that Obama has added a historical amount of debt to an already outrageous debt when he took office. How so you ask? Easy really. From 1789 until 2008 all the US Presidents combined added $6.3 trillion to the debt. Obama has again made history by adding $6.5 trillion in just one term. Warm fuzzy time? Are you feeling it now? Are you understanding it?

Obama constantly plays the blame game even this far into his administration. What is pathetic is that his sheeple seem to find that acceptable. Maybe it's a lifestyle thing that I was never taught. I was always taught to take responsibility for my own actions and have tried to always man up when I have to. Obama missed that lesson.

What amazes me is the amount of hypocrisy constantly on display by Team Obama. Here he was just on 60 Minutes with Steve Kroft saying, "Oh I think that, you know, as president I bear responsibility for everything--to some degree." Then he turns around and says that of the $6.5 trillion of added budget deficit only 10% of it can be attributed to him and his administration. I'm not a mathematician but looking at the amount of the stimulus, which is all debt, and doing some division with $6.5 trillion I don't arrive at 10% even using that wasted amount of money. Just using that figure is far above his 10% claim.

Another amazement is the amount of gall Obama has to continually just lie his way across the country. Does anyone really fall for his snake oil routine after what you've seen the past four years? Then when anyone calls time out for a bit of fact checking what do I usually see and actually sometimes experience? All the sudden we're all racists or bigots because we don't buy into Obama's failed policies. It has nothing to do with him being an abject failure and fraud now, does it?

Source

Then some fool happens along to claim something Obama said out on the stump is gospel. It went like this, “federal spending since I took office has risen at the slowest pace of any President in almost 60 years." The problem is the fool actually believes that. This calculated deception was just that - a deception and immediately summarized as such in a Wall Street Journal article:

“There is, now, a house-of-cards feel about this administration. It became apparent some weeks ago when the President talked on the stump – where else? – about an essay by a fellow who said spending growth [under Obama] is actually lower than that of previous Presidents. This was startling to a lot of people, who looked into it and found the man had left out most spending from 2009, the first year of Mr. Obama’s Presidency. People sneered: The President was deliberately using a misleading argument to paint a false picture! But you know, why would he go out there waiving an article that could immediately be debunked? Maybe because he thought it was true. That’s more alarming, isn't it, the idea that he knows so little about the effects of his own economic program that he thinks he really is a low spender.”

Why would he wave an article that is so easily debunked? Because there are enough idiots out there who just might believe every word this pathological liar can serve up. That's why.

It's Always So Easy To Spend Other People's Money...

So this weekend we had our Crazy Uncle Joe Biden out on the stump spinning away at how all these astronomical budget deficits year after year in the Obama administration are the Bush administration's fault. He was out there using the same flawed Democratic talking points that we always hear. What none of them ever mention is the fact that the money appropriator (Congress) was in Democratic hands from January of 2007 until January of 2011. Why is it that they keep forgetting that crucial point. Presidents propose budgets, they don't enact the legislation. Why is it that Obama has continually run deficits of over a trillion a year absent any budget being passed? I reckon that was Bush's fault too. This administration has yet to have any budget passed due to the US Senate doing nothing. The Democrats don't want a budget and don't want one for obvious reasons.

Most of Biden's talking points have been previously debunked but the spiel is the spiel. It's always someone elses's fault. It's more convenient that way than to admit that your administration's economic policies (Keynesian as a matter of fact) failed once again even though they were a known failure when you tried them again.

What I find strange is that Team Obama thinks that the American people are so stupid that reelection will happen based upon the constant presentation of what is the opposite of reality. Maybe this will prove to be another historic first but I can only pray that it will not be the case. Are there really that many stupid people walking around in our nation a second time? What is reality to Obama isn't really reality at all. It's made up just like a lot of him is fictional.

We're On The Edge Of The Cliff As A Nation...

Notice that all the people up there on that cliff are blind folded. May I suiggest to you that if you have your blinders on that you remove them before the election on November 6th of 2012. Removing them afterwards will prove to be too late.

There should be a litany of questions you, as a voter, ask yourself "before" stepping into that voting booth. One of the biggest is, "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" If not then why vote for the cause of the majority of your misery? Gas prices through the roof, grocery shopping is agonizing and your money has been severely devalued. Just the little things in life and one huge national debt that has to be dealt with by more than talking it to death.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: Venezuelan leader, Hugo Chavez, says: "If I were American, I'd vote for Obama." Since Venezuela is about to have an election too, I wonder if Obama will say, "If I were Venezuelan, I'd vote for Chavez?"

"Like" It, "Tweet" It, "Pin " It, "Share It" With Your Followers. Time to keep the momentum going.

All of Obama's training and mentoring through life has taught him one thing...all the problems are someone else's fault. That is the mantra of the "community organizer" or more aptly "the neighborhood socialist" sent in to stir the pot on every issue in the hope disrupting the current system. Obama's strategy is to capture the votes of five American population sectors: 1. minorities 2. unions 3. hand-out collectors 4. heart thinkers (emotionalist). Once elected, he is no one's president but in the game totally for himself and those who work the lips who have their had up the back of his jacket....like George Soros, that good buddy of Caesar Chevez, the ever-popular South American communist. For me, that is the biggest disconnect in the voting arena today. How can a man surround himself with socialist and communist and not be a sympathizer at the very least? Wake up America, you country is on fire. ~WB

Sadly, if he says it, they believe him, and that includes the media. The problem is that these loyal believers never, ever, do any fact checking or reading outside their group of blind followers. Even when facts are presented in a way even they can understand them, they refuse to believe.

So many are now claiming the outrageous spending by this administration is Bush's fault, they truly believe it.

Great hub as usual, but unfortunately those who could really benefit from this hub will never read it.

Mike - Reality says that Obama has racked up over a trillion in deficits each year he has been in office. One of the biggest problems with this Democratic circus act is that during his entire tenure they have not passed any budget. That lies at the feet of Harry Reid these past two years. Before that it was a Dem House and a Dem Senate. I'm not sure why people aren't getting a clear picture of reality.

Most people who run a household operate on a budget. Federal law requires a budget and Harry Reid and his cronies say the government doesn't need one. Changing some faces in the Senate this time around is mandatory. Essentially the US Senate is in violation of a federal law.

Excellent images.

Why is it that we require students to take SAT tests, but we let anyone be elected to public office.

We let people get elected as president without doing a security clearance that is required by the government for secret and top secret and need to know. All of these are required for the president.

We let politicians get into office without testing even their basic math skills. They don't have to be mathematicians, economists, statistical analysts, but they should be able to differentiate numbers that have more than six places before the decimal point.

I think that the people in congress should have their pensions tied to the national budget. If the budget is not balanced, they get zero put into their pension fund, and that would include those of their immediate staff. If the budget is balanced and there is a surplus then there would be contributions made to their pensions based on some formula.

So as the economy goes up and down, so will there pensions, and maybe they will be more sympathetic to the plight of the average citizen.

I saw a hub laqst night that actually claimed that Obama stopped a depression and kept us from having one. Excuse my blind ignorance but aren't we in a depression right now. The unemployment rate is higher than it was during The Great Depression and we are further in debt. Gas is at a record high and food is unaffordable. More people are living on the streets and she claims that he kept us from having one. I about blew a fuse, instead, I gave her a list of things to look up. I know she would not believe any source I give her so I told her just to look them up herself. Naive, gullible people will be the end of this country.

Another great post Frog. We may disagree on this point, but I'm beginning to think that focusing on Obama being stupid may not hit the mark. I'm beginning to believe that he is cunning and ruthless to the point of sadism. Neither he nor the Congress is willing to cut aggregate spending, though they are willing to "shift it around" (although there are widely divergent opinions on Capitol Hill regarding what the shifts should be). Although Obama clearly is a socialist by practice, I'm beginning to wonder whether socialism per se is what actually drives his him. True socialism is a belief in fiat dictatorship, with virtually no social freedoms, and highly restrained economic freedoms. Obama's love for any social behavior that isn't normal does not fit the genuine socialist's ideology.

An alternative theory is that Obama feels somehow hurt by America, and wants to punish it. Psychologically, the wealthy (at least those of the wealthy who don't contribute to his campaigns) are seen by him as an oppressive class, the poor are seen by Obama as the oppressed (a psychological projection of himself), and the middle class are just pawns to tax into oblivion to "save" the poor. Put differently, Obama's socialism may be less an ideology in itself for him, and more a means to an end, specifically fighting what he views as "internal American colonialism." Crushing our economy would be a great way for him to "get even" for imagined evils within American society. Serial money printing by the Federal Reserve, massive buildup of federal debt, and the looming crisis from Taxmageddon clearly must ultimately combine to destroy the dollar, wipe out most peoples' savings, cause hyerinflation, and lead to massive loss of jobs. Obama sees no threat here, as he views the power of the federal government to overtax and print money like crazy as the savior of the poor, as opposed to what it really is - the very thing that will completely destroy our economy, and make everybody poor. He simply can't see (or doesn't want to see) that once you wreck the dollar completely, the economy goes to a barter system, so inefficient that there is very little to redistribute. And under a barter system, it is likely that what little is produced would be grossly under-reported, so taxation itself falls apart, making redistribution a virtual impossibility absent sending publicans to peoples' homes and simply confiscating property at random for "gifting" to the poorest.

You can see Obama's fixation on colonialism in another way too. In addition to actively trying to wreck the American financial system to make us all equal (i.e., we all ultimately have nothing, but he can't see that this is the logical endpoint of his actions), he is also very approving of the voluminous UN programs to create a borderless international legal system (transnationalism). Obama equates national sovereignty with colonialism, and so supports the transnational ideal of a world ruled by a "council of Presidents" who each have one vote, and all law across all nations is "harmonized." Obama thinks all nations must accept a single body of world law based on an "international codex" determined by majority vote among all national Presidents, Kings, Military Strongmen, Senior Mullahs, etc., with each nation providing its highest leader to some yet to be named UN committee to vote on what the "world laws" should be, as if these leaders were an "international Congress." I know it all sounds crazy, but it really reflects the way Obama acts, as well as a number of his most senior Administrative staff (think Hillary Clinton and UN Ambassador Susan Rice as examples).

We are in deep trouble, and even most GOP's in Congress can't see it, or are afraid to see it. When the crisis becomes too serious to ignore, it may be too late to fix.

Becky - It's amazing how the spin goes about a "depression." Many an economist has stated that we'd basically be in the same place we are now without Obama having wasted close to a trillion of our tax dollars on his "shovel ready" stimulus plan. Then later he admits that he misspoke and there is no such thing as shovel ready.

Now all I can recommmend is that this administration be made shovel ready and be sent packing. 23 million Americans out of work or underemployed and someone writes nonsense like you read. What you read are the usual Democratic talking points spouted by a progressive parrot.

Stu - I'm not referring to Obama as being stupid because he is doing just what his handlers are telling him to do. The stupidity is on the part of those who are still his blind followers. You and I know them as sheeple and they are dumber than a box of rocks in Omaha.

This is not a fact but if true and verified would answer the credibility about FactCheck.org

-----------

So what’s the real story behind FactCheck and it’s liberal bias? Who owns it? Well, the answer to that question is the now liberal group, the Annenberg Foundation. The Annenberg Foundation was founded by Walter H. Annenberg, who was at one point a loyal Reagan conservative and diehard Republican. However, Old Walter’s family have changed their tune. Now, the family has close ties to Barack Obama, Bill Ayers and the liberal front in general.

Sir Frog, you hit it out of the park again. Your average is better than the Babe. I thought the last thing Obama wanted to talk about was the economy. I guess I had forgotten what a good deceiver he really is. Saved us from a depression, huh? More like kicked into it! The man won't pass a budget because then he might actually get held to it and that would slow our economic, among others, demise. God bless and keep you and may he keep you keeping on.

@Tammybarnett - You wrote, “Oh frog, fact check is the most reliable source you can find, they even point you to the calculator.” No ma’am. It really is not. As The Frog, and most others here know, the most reliable source is a source document. Allow me to define that for you. It’s a primary source meaning it came directly from the origination point such as direct video footage or an original document. Fact check only goes as far as to confirm or deny what has been said by whom where oftentimes. A primary source document is the only real and verifiable way to prove any numbers or policy. They can be easily obtained through .gov sites though, granted, they suck to wade through. The Frog does it daily. He’s right. You’re quoting talking points. Come back with a primary source document that backs up your point consistently and I will be a happy camper with your sources. Until that time, you’re arguments here are lacking in real substance.

poetvix - tammie's last comment was deleted because she decided to get obscene. Liberals can be like that when they are angry and pouting.

You obviously remember tammie from the last time she decided to show her face on one of my articles and sort through her talking points. I could give tammie primary source docs but, as you noted, they are painful to sort through and most liberal minds just don't have the patience to sort and comprehend much other than the talking points they pick up here and there.

I'm supposed to be so stupid that I don't know talking points when I see them. How can I avoid them with the amounts of reading I do on a daily basis? I can almost tell you what some of these liberal minds are going to spew forth with next. They equate my reactions to whatever fantasy is in their mind at the time.

Then they want to talk about the "last word." Well, who the hell do they think wrote this article? They do get hilarious and at times a bit hysterical. Here's a riddle for ya....how many socialist, Marxist, and communist sympathizers does one man have associate himself with before it becomes obvious that he agrees with their politics? If it walks like a duck; quacks like a duck, then all we need is the feathers and the web feet. Obama smugly parades his socialist agenda basking in the certainty that far too many Americans can be openly duped. We are rapidly becoming a nation willing to trade its existence and freedoms for a sack of empty promises. The only way we get out of this mess is change the direction and get spending under control. Increased taxation will not bridge the gap, will not even come close. Obama says his plan will save 4 trillion over 10 years yet he does not even have the leadership ability to put a budget in place. This man may well be a duck or worse but you can damn sure bet that he is not a leader. ~WB

Frog, you were acting obscene and childish, I'm not about talking points, and I'm actually very center left. You say I am not smart enough to read then somehow try to spin it that I called you stupid, show me where!

Vix, You are smart, we don't agree, but you are smart. I hope you will fight this hard for truth, maybe even with Jim. I know you know him, I have seen your comments on his hubs before.

Goodnight

Wayne - The fact checkers and the CBO both have stated that the 4 trillion is an accounting gimmick. The federal government is famous for smoke and mirrors accounting.

I was commenting to what Vix said tammie. And here I thought you left and were never going to talk to me again. I'll be...

I don't get obscene nor childish tammie. I use logic and reason and very little emotion here on this site. Many of you libber lips think you can anger me. That's laughable and giving yourself much too much credit.

Now then, up there in this article I researched and wrote tell me what you find to be false. Was it the last video? Maybe the first video? The fact that Obama has added close to $6 trillion, as of today, to the national debt since taking office? Everything I said is verifiable with VALID research and not some frigging fact check site. Stu hit it on the head about their motivations as did ib. Clear your mind and start using your brain. Have a few lucid moments and actually do some research.

Google is a marvelous tool. Search national deficit at the end of Bush administration. The actual figure will appear, not some left wing wishful thinking or myth. Then go to the national debt clock and do the simple math. It isn't nuclear science.

And you think you know how to debate? ROTFLMAO

Hi Frog,

Re your comment "I'm not referring to Obama as being stupid because he is doing just what his handlers are telling him to do. The stupidity is on the part of those who are still his blind followers. You and I know them as sheeple and they are dumber than a box of rocks in Omaha." You are SO RIGHT about this. Obama is extremely heavily influenced by a handful of external think tanks, some funded by George Soros or operated by Soros associates. They practically wrote Obama's political "action plan" for 2009-2012 (John Podesta's CAP organization being the 800 pound gorilla), and Obama followed it almost to a tee.

But no need to take it out on Nebraska; let's say the sheeple are dumber than a box of rocks in Obamaha. :)

Frog, you have been the emotional one, with your lick lick business, good night nurse, read your rantings. I guess the US Treasury and the CBO are not as smart as you either? As for Stu, didn't bother to comment on his highly emotional response, He left out the LOL part at the end of my BIO, obviously a joke waisted on someone lacking a sense of humor. Good Night!

tammy - Stu made some astute observations about you. He actually did more than I would by reading your profile. Don't get your panties all wadded up about the truth. Take your meds and get some rest. Everything is going to be alright. Just don't vote for Obama.

Frog, he made no such astute anything, he's whining and calling names just like you and many of your buds. Yes I'm voting for Obama, and damn proud too, but I don't think he is perfect, he's not Jesus! AND, I know Washington is broken, so take your meds my friend, sleep well.

Lets see here tammy - right wingers? Who said that? I don't call people names tammy. As I told one Hubber yesterday, "I call a spade a spade and an idiot an idiot." If one chooses to tag themselves with that remark then that is on them and not me. If I call someone a name, which I know better than to do on a left leaning forum, they would know it.

You help destroy this nation further and that will be on your conscience. If you are so blind that you don't see what a fraud this socialist pretender is that is a bit pathetic. Quite pathetic actually. Read what Wayne wrote and read it carefully. Hell the guy has written books about his history.

Kathleen - Save your sermons for the mount. You got your itty bitties hurt a while back and are still pouting when called out about your conduct.

Sir Frog ~ Oh, yes Sir, I remember Tammy. I have gotten many a headache over the last two weeks as I am still dissecting that comment thread to illustrate the differences in the mindset between the left and right. I even have them numbered. It's fascinating and mind numbing all at the same time.

You would think everyone would know by now that you do your homework! As someone who appreciates that fact, I recognize it when I see it. Oh, yea, and you use good sources! Keep at it, Sir Frog, every wall has its weak point.

Tammy - Well, thank you very much for being nice. I would argue with Sir Frog to the death were he spouting manure. He's not. He's right. People may not like it, and it may not be the nicest things to say, but he tells the truth. The nation is in deep doo! This president has not passed a budget. He can't. The nation is divided and will NEVER unite under him... period. His very identity is in question with many and while you may dismiss what is referred to as the "birther" group they are growing daily and not going away. He has driven up the debt by a third! He gave our money to the very guys behind the deaths of our Ambassador and staff, hello??? Any of that ringing a bell? Even, God forbid, were he to win, the nation still winds up in the toilet even if he never gets another thing done. America can not survive him. Period.

Fact Check? More like fat check, to the Obama campaign.

One of my uncles used to like to use Snopes to buttress his pro-Obama arguments. Their liberal bias didn't help him much, either. But I notice his emails have more jabs at the Prez in them now than they used to, so there's hope for almost anyone....

Facts from US Treasury Dept, 86% under Bush-45% under Obama-yes it's bad, but frog said more than all previous pres combined and that is not true Vix. I know you looked and read because you seem to be a studious person who cares deeply about the facts, and what Frog said is not true! That was my beef, that's why I came by, and I will leave you all to your making fun behind my back now like highschool kids(not speaking of you Vix)

My eyes glazed over halfway through all of this. I wrote this before, and I am compelled to share my thoughts on Fact Check, and any similar organization - ONE MORE TIME - Folks, I have a question for you . . . why would anyone spend endless hours each day - or hire others to spend endless hours each day - just to check out facts for you - FOR FREE?

All the organizations that check your facts for you - think you (who use it, and that includes me) are the most ignorant and gullible on the planet.

WHY? Because it is worth their time and money to give you accurate facts on 90% of the crap questions and emails sent in to them, so they can give you the manipulating, propaganda answer on the other 10%. They have ALL been caught in half-truths and outright lies.

poetvix - I remember you asking me offline if you can use some of the outrageous things Tammy, and other participants said, said in her comments. I told you what I told you and your eventual product should prove to be interesting reading. The left lives in their own little bubble where they think the rest of us are always wrong and they are right. They need to steer to the right as they grow up but many don't. That is based on personal responsibility for yourself and some don't want to shoulder that burden.

Here's another link to read through Tammy. What I presented is accurate whether you like it or not. Just use Google and start reading without those blinders you seem to have slammed on your eyes. Obama has outspent them all and wants to spend more. Now to a more serious question for you. And just "who" does Tammy Barnett think is going to repay that money? And have you bothered to sit down and discuss that with them?

Let's cut to the heart of the matter. Why, given all we now know about Pres. Obama, would anyone in their right mind want to give him four more years?

The Frog Prince profile image

The Frog Prince 4 years ago from Arlington, TX Author

BPOP - Those with socialist blood coursing through their veins are leaning that way. Many like having the federal government as their Nanny. They have lost sight of being responsible for themselves and theirs and self reliance. Those were traits this nation was built on. Back to basics might be the path to the future and not the "sponge syndrome" we see all around us.

The one visual that shows Obama accumulating all that debt in one term vs all the previous presidents, including Bush with his two terms and two wars, and it was still less than Obama. Any sane person would have gotten that right away. It just goes to show you that democrats are not sane.

I still read you frog. There's just no point in commenting. This time I simply posted stats from another source to show numbers can make any point you want, and you still came back swinging.

When someone is just rude - you don't get your feelings hurt. You walk away.

This was my last try with you.

Sir Frog ~ I sincerely regret having to have walked away from that piece for now. I’m having some personal things that are sucking up way too much of my time at the now. It’s already longer than anything I have here and I would say about 1/3 done because I’m using so many quotes from the thread.

@Tammy – Again, thanks for being nice to me personally, but dear, you are so very blind. You say The Frog is mean and never helps anyone. Not true. He helped me just this week with a very real life situation that’s frankly kicking my ass in a serious kind of I might wind up dead kind of way.

Contrary to what you state, I don’t know him and he does not know me other than from here and a few very brief emails. We have never met. You say he was wrong in his article and that his facts are incorrect. They are not. I know you think that because Factcheck directed you to what may very well be a source document and cited that document that it proves the number correct. It does not. Please, understand, I’m not trying to be mean here. Anyone can cite a single number or sentence, maybe even a paragraph from a document to argue their point. That doesn’t make it correct. You have to read the whole thing and see how the piece of it was used in the argument. It may be valid. More often, it is not. You further have to read other related documents and figures from outside agencies. You have to consider validity and conflict of interest. I’m butchering the quote, but… "a man who reads many books is indeed a wise man. A man who reads a book is damn dangerous.” You should get the drift and do some research for the sake of your children!

Read this hub with anticipation and relish. It is only going to get much, much, much worse in Obama's second term. The debt ceiling is rising ever higher and he and wife are taking expensive, non-government related vacations which is adding more debt.

Also, there is the disaster called Obama"care". NEED I SAY more. We are in for some perilous times, Frog Prince. He has deceived many, especially the smarter Liberals who NOW see the real, unadulterated Obama!

Be so careful what one wishes for-it often cames tenfold! What we have in the White House is not pretty at all. He has a socialist/communist agenda which is becoming MORE EVIDENT each day. Be afraid, be VERY, VERY AFRAID! Government is getter bigger and more intrusive! Big Brother has ARRIVED!

I would like to add that President Obama is making ex-President Bush look like a choirboy in comparison. He said that he would end wars yet he is starting a war in Syria. He has IRS spy on those who disagree with him. For example, Dr. Carson indicated that after his prayer breakfast speech, he was paid a visit by the IRS. Then Benghazi, one only knows what happened there-no one is telling. He has extended imprisonment for American citizens who he believes are problematic to the administration and "the American way of life." Bush was bad but Obama is MUCH, MUCH worse!
