"We face the most subtle, evil enemy we have ever faced before." Uncle Sam It's Too Late To Apologise...

We're Standing on New Ground... Far More Abuses To come

Friends, countrymen, citizens who desire freedom...

The Founders of this nation, perhaps unknown to them at the time, created the greatest and most successful nation in the history of the world. They believed so strongly in the cause, they pledged their lives and fortunes to fight for this freedom; most signers of the Declaration of Independance, lost both.

The issue of slavery in America made these principles a bitter irony for those enslaved and their ancestors. This group included people of all races, though admitedly our non-white citizens suffered this more than any other group.

For them, it is also too late to apologise, they are dead and buried. But have we not as a nation apologised to their ancestors for these abuses? And I am sorry it happened. We can't change it. Nothing will ever change it.

Slavery was very hypocritcal. Reading the words of the Declaration and the Constitution, how could they allow such things to happen to their fellow man? Regardless of the hypocracy, the words have meaning, they still have meaning today that are vitally important to everyone's future.

While we do not understand how one human can do this to another, we are faced with another potential reality. Slavery is coming again, this time to everyone of every race, color, and religion.

About the Video...

The video is a production of Soomo Publishing. The soundtrack is a parody of the song "Apologize" by OneRepublic, made popular by Timbaland.

The company considers the video, - "an anachronistic daydream asking the question, 'If pop producer Timbaland had sought to build consensus around declaring independence, what might he have produced?' "

Personally, I think the singer on this video is better than the singer of the popular version. - Harlan.

The Taxes are Coming! The Taxes are Coming!

How are we slaves? When they can tax 40%, 50%, or more of your labor, half the time you spend working, is without pay. YOU are working for NO PAY. Is this not a form of slavery?

What is the difference? At least slave owners gave their slaves a place to live and to sleep and fed them. Today's slave masters dont even give you that, they just take your money. In some countries workers are paying 65% in taxes.

I am not against taxes, but excessives taxes are coming. I should get on my horse and ride through the street yelling "The Taxes are Coming!" Coming? for many they are here!

You are working for some idiot behind a desk spending your money on his/her personal clout and whatever political temptation crosses their fancy.

(I work with many people from Europe in my profession. It is the kind of job where one works for a month or so at a time, and takes a month or so off. Many of them tell me they work in the U.S. because its tax free.)

Today we can still enforce the words of our supreme law which not only created our nation but guarantee our freedom. We now face an enemy far greater than a hypocrit. We face an enemy who is willing to sell not only our freedom, our nation and our future down the river for some grand global future dictatorship, but also the freedom, nation and future of their children, grandchildren and well beyond. We face the most subtle, evil enemy we have ever faced before. This enemy dresses like you, looks like you, shakes your hand, smiles and pats you on the back.

I don't understand. It is time we stop letting the false faces of "right vs. left" divide us with petty issues that amount to little more than another loss of freedom; a further tightening of the noose.

We elect these people into office, people who swear an oath to uphold our supreme law, our supreme way of doing business, and they cannot even tell you what is written on the paper they swear an oath to uphold. They have reduced their oath to little more than a formality. No sooner than they swear their oath, they get to work breaking the very oath they swear to uphold, often ignorant of even doing so.

Have you ever wondered why someone would spend millions of dollars to get eleted to a 4 or 6 year job that only pays around 180k a year? Why? Is it because the perks are far greater? And who pays for those perks? YOU DO! The only perk they are supposed to get, is the personal satisfaction of doing a good job for their countrymen, not robbing the public treasury for themselves on wasteful meaningless programs.

Have you not had enough of this corruption? Right, left, conservative, liberal, moderate, independant, its all a smoke screen to keep the animal farm running, pun intended.

Enough is enough. Its too late to apologise. It's time to scrub the toilet, and FLUSH CONGRESS. Vote for the little guy no one ever heard of. He has no big corporate business contacts, no deep network web in Washington, no Four Star General buddies in the military and high places of government. Let him serve one term and send him home, voting again, next time, for Joe Nobody.

We the people are in power if we don't use it, we are going to loose it. Unlike the founders, we have the chance to take back our country with a mere ballot, no violence, no shooting, no war. If we don't do it soon, it will be too late to do anything.

"We the people are in power" ~ that is the grand delusion...the only power we the people (we the saints) have is prayer to the Almighty God of justice and mercy. It is written and so it shall be. Come, Lord Jesus!!

Great article, the only problem I see is that the voting box has been compromised...I'll have to do an article on that next!

Judah: Thank you for replying. You caught me fantasizing at the prospect of tossing out the crooks, but alas Christ shall repay. Amen.

Brie: Thank you for replying. And you also caught me fantasizing about tossing out the crooks, but alas they have seized control over the vote too. Too bad its all a puppet show. It really was a great country. Go write that article I want to read it!

P.S. I saw your answers to the poll and I am rolling with laughter!

Thank you Harlan for announcing how corrupt our politicians are no matter what flag they fly. Our country is no different, we are also taxed to the hilt. What do we get in return? lawyers and politicians with their fingers in the cookie jar, with deep pockets of their own. It's a crime that we are being blindsided by corruption. Crime does pay? of course and it's prevalent in the ranks of our politicians. Makes me sick. I work to give half of my earnings to corruption. One day the tide has to turn, I smell revolution in the air.

Thank you for your comments.

I worry about the kids. They haven't got a clue.

I had no idea it was the same up north. I have had the idea before... what if a bunch of freedom loving folks moved up to Western Canada, declared independence and started a new country? I am sure Alaska would want in on it, and probably some bordering states in the lower 48. Problem is getting a couple million people to move up there and make a go of it. If there is no cable TV and a Walmarts on every corner, they wouldn't be interested.

My bible says a man is worthy of his hire, in other words if you do the work, you should be paid. Uncle Sam says, if you do the work, I am going to take a significant amount of it and waste it on roads to nowhere and other politically motivated deals that are of no value to you, or society, but to those who polish governmental seats of power with their back pockets.

I dont begrudge fair taxes nearly as much as I do governmental waste, and I see a lot of our taxes being wasted; billions of dollars being thrown at problems and those appointed to care for the problems having no clue where the money went when it suddenly disappears, never being spent for its intended purpose.

That is a form of theft and slavery imo. I am all for changing that.

What changes would you like to see?

-Best wishes,

Wow. Excellent article here. And so true. We will all be slaves if we continue down the road we're on. I made a joke a while back that before Barack Obama only lazy people didn't have to work...

Now under Obama's plan no one does. Government is going to take care of everything, right?

Oh God. Please wake me up from this nightmare.

I agree that the founding fathers having slaves flew in the face of the very document they sought to create. It is abominable the way they treated those deemed underlings to them.

I also agree that the tax burden placed on us as a result of bad monetary policies by the government since colonial times will only continue to get worse. How can we possibly overcome this?

Thanks for the article and also for your service on the gulf oil spill.

I believe the only way to overcome it, is to make a real national movement to toss these crooks out of office. Elect Joe or Jane everyday taxpayer, who lives in reality. When you work 8 - 12 hours a day only to have half of it taken away, you understand trying to stretch a $20 where a $50 needs to go. These people spend money like water, they have no idea of reality anymore. They go through life thinking everyone worth a darn has the same kind of money they do, and those that don't are beneath them and deserve to suffer. What they don't understand is it's their policies that put people in such a position. And the scary part is - some of them completely understand and do it anyway. I am sick to my stomach at what we have in Washington. The signers of the Declaration pledged their lives and everything they had for freedom - you could even call it "Change". Today too many American's wont give up a night of American Idol to even go vote. It's sad. Just sad.

So funny that I read this hub today. I reread the Declaration of Independence a few weeks ago, and after determining that it is one of the best pieces of literature EVER, I was saddened by how far we've come from the original premises on which this nation was founded. Great hub and great point. I'm all for putting out the current Congressional trash, as it were, and starting fresh.

Call me silly, but beyond a pulse there are no requirements to run for public office, and I largely agree with that save one. I believe if you are going to take an oath to uphold the highest law of the land that guarantees our freedom, then you should be able pass a comprehensive test before every election, covering exactly what that law entitles you to do and not to do.

Thank you for responding!

I'm not going to be shackled by guilt over slavery, and I'm not going to be a slave to those that tax us into oblivion because they are trying to compensate for the past. As long as I have the right to vote, I will use it. I think we should do away with personal campaign contributions. All monies should go into a pool for the election. It should be non-partisan and equally divided. Period!

Thank you Annaw,

After reading your profile, I look forward to reading more of your opinions and commnents, as I think I can learn something from you too. We definately have different backgrounds, and "without reading you the whole book," while Idaho has many different cultures, the predominate culture is that of Flannel-shirts and cowboy hats. We have a large hispanic population who are also flannel and cowboy hat kind of people. We have gangs here so they say, but you never see them. They only bother each other. If I had to pick one word to describe Idaho culture, I would say - family. I appreciate your readership. Thank you.

The problem are not so much the taxes as I am willing to pitch-in to fix a road, to pay emergency personnel, etc. The problem is (I think) in the fact that there is no accountability ... billions vanish in thin air and nothing gets done. Politicians get a nice pay, vacations and so on, while the regular folk struggle from bad to worse. That's the problem I think.

The problem is that the honest little guy who could make a difference probably doesn't have the money to enter the race. Therefore we get the "connected" guy with money who forgets all about us once he or she is in. Up and awesome.

I don't know about other states, in this state, the media is pretty good about giving equal time to all candidates regardless how much money they have - at least in terms of aired comments and debates etc. Naturally, they have to buy their own ads.

Thank you for commenting!

Thank you for you Hub Harlan Colt, it's right on the money regarding the 'government takeover' the country is expriencing. Lately, I've been amused as to how everyone is cutting down regarding money, yet all politicos seem to be doing just fine.

I also wonder why politicians have to be 'elected' before they can do 'their' jobs. I'm no big time executive, but if I was hired on a job and something needed to be fixed, guess who would be responsible for fixing it? Me, of course, after all I was hired (elected) to fix a problem(s). This cycle of nothingness is making me a little angry.

My friend, whatever gave you the idea that you can change anything with a ballot? Congress retains their seats 95% of the time while senators retain their posts 98% of the time regardless of their approval rating.

The status quo does not change in Washington D.C., because these people are appointed...not elected. That is why they continue to do as they please, and it also explains why they show no respect and little regard to the American public.

The other problem we have (and they know it), is that there is a big military machine standing in our way. You know the ones...America's heroes...the "Be all you can be" crowd. You try to enforce your common sense ideals upon a tyranical government and Captain America will stick his bayonette in your throat. The military will always protect those that give them their paychecks, promotions, prestige, and who pin medals upon their chests.

Benjamin Franklin said "A little revolution is a good thing now and then...", but you cannot have one when there is a standing army in your way. That is why there is all this hub bub about these soldiers being "heroes" and why this war and that war is so justified.

It's so important for the U.S. Government to have a standing army who is willing and ready to fight all assailants both foreign and domestic. This is exactly why, in the days of the Colonials, they hotly debated whether or not they should have a standing army...simply because a standing army will not allow corrupt leaders to be thrown out. History has shown that a standing army will always be used against its own people. So, it's not a matter of if - it's a matter of when. Peace be with you.

Lone Ranger:

The last congressional race saw many of the old guard who gave us our current mess (from both sides) ousted and new people put into office. Freedom lovers everywhere are getting on election boards and monitoring ballots, voting and counting systems, and bringing accurate results back to the table. It has made enough of a difference for one to encourage such efforts for the next round.

The goal is to prevent the "when".

That may be true, Harlan, but all the shadow government does is replace an old face with a fresh face from the elite's talent pool. Consequently any "change" will be superficial at best. You will see that nothing ever changes other than the face pershaps; since the ideals are the same...the results will always be the same. Peace be with you. - L.R.
