Just "A Bump?" Those were people...

Barriers To Appeasement

Obama has a strange spin for many of us who have experienced Presidents in all flavors. He is, however, a very good peddler of snake oil. Most snake oil salesmen of great renown were never short on shtick to peddle imaginary relief. You see snake oil never did much to cure any ill known to man and neither do Presidents like Barack Hussein Obama.

In 2008 my son drank the koolaid and told me just how eloquent Obama was. At the time I told him that eloquence and actual leadership are horses of a different color. Today he now acknowledges that what I had cautioned him about was true. Will he vote to reelect Obama? He now has seen the light and is disgusted that he might have been fooled but it happens. The best advice I could ever give him now is to admit the mistake, correct it and try not to be deceived by a silver tongued devil ever again.

This Image Is What Obama Considers A Bump

Obama did a 60 Minutes segment Sunday and I'm not really sorry I missed it because I am disgusted by the empty rhetoric I hear when he opens his mouth. Sunday would have been especially painful because of this statement concerning his Middle East appeasement policies:

“But I was pretty certain and continue to be pretty certain that there are going to be bumps in the road because, you know, in a lot of these places the one organizing principle has been Islam."

Obama's "bumps in the road" I see as human lives. Our Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans are now bumps? Our embassies around the world now, considered to be US soil, are being assaulted by bands of terrorist thugs but again - just mere bumps in the road. Actually Obama is a bump in the road which we need to scrape up and get rid of quickly unless he is allowed to do more damage.

As usual, it is claimed that people are taking what Obama said "out of context." Isn't it strange that every time Obama has to talk without his teleprompter on that the rest of us are accused of taking what he says out of context? Don't believe anything Obama says and everything his teleprompter says. My question then is just who is behind that teleprompter that I can't see?

The Whine House Defense?

But what Carney was yammering on about doesn't reflect the Obama of the past. I will use the economy as an example. Some of you will remember and many others will have conveniently forgotten. Obama is out there constantly campaigning asking his faithful to accept an economic recovery on faith. All of the weak signs that abound around us in the economy, and have been exacerbated by this administration, are but signs of his robust recovery to come. He has referred to the bad signs and sagging economic indicators as "bumps in the road." I hate to tell you folks but Obama doesn't have the answers to fix the economy. He tried and he failed.

What is the usual refrain whenever the dismal unemployment figures keep starring at us and the misery index increases as more people either can't find work or are only partially employed? More "bumps in the road" talk from Obama or his inner circle. I reckon this must be why he wants to spend money on roads and claims that "you didn't build that" and that the government is the answer to our prayers. We're just supposed to sit still hitting speed bump after speed bump tearing our frame out while Obama tries to get his policies down right.

The problem, Carney, is that this is the same shtick just applied as a different elixir which many of us recognize as snake oil. Human beings aren't "bumps in the road." Neither is the destruction of our embassies, nor the raising of Al Qaeda flags on US property.

It is time to remove one big US bump in the road. His name is Barack Hussein Obama. In his own words below at the start of his administration we need to now hold him to at least one thing he said.

"I Will Be Held Accountable..."

It's time that maybe we become "speed bumps" along the path of Obama's destruction of our nation as we know it. More fitting is for us to build road blocks and don't worry about being bumps in the road. He seems to prefer a different flag than many of us do. I prefer the stars and stripes without the defacement invented by a snake oil salesman or his minions.

As Always,

Frog,

Enough is enough! My husband saw this about changing the U.S. Flag!!!! I could not believe my ears, and then I saw it -----how devasting to our nation. I pray it is not true. America needs to remove its veil from its eyes before it's too late, and it may already be so. However, I know who is really in control of all.

You are an excellent writer, Frog. I am one who wishes there is a third choice for president this year, but there is none, but we must weigh in the lesser of the two evils, and vote. But since that is not going to happen, well the choice is easy.

God bless you and God bless American!

He is the original flim-flam man. If he were truly held accountable for his words and actions he would have been gone a long time ago.

Faith Reaper - I've been on the ground floor of the Tea Party Movement since 2009. What I keep trying to let people know is that this fixing of our political cesspool will take a few election cycles. It wasn't created instantly and can't be fixed instantly.

We started in 2010 and need to continue on which involves the continued involvement of those who started the real change and bringing more people into the light of reality as we move forward.

Keep the faith.

I like how you started this hub with the story about your son because it really illustrates what has happened to get Obama elected. There is a parallel between the political behavior of people like Obama (I call them politophiles) and the behavior of pedophiles. Instead of preying upon the sexually naive they prey upon the politically naive using all the same tactics, lying, promising, enticing with gifts. And just like a kidnapped victim can develop Stockholm syndrome, (or capture-bonding, a psychological phenomenon in which hostages express empathy and have positive feelings towards their captors, sometimes to the point of defending them) so do those who have been victimized by politophiles like Obama.

Think about it and think of how hard it is to reason with Obama zombies - there is definitely something psychological going on with them, it is not just voting for the best man.

There is only one solution and that is to turn those "bumps in the road" Obama talks about into metaphorical dead Obombie "bodies in the road" to election night when we are then left with "bums in the road" because they have been voted out!

Great hub Frog to sober us up to just how insignificant these elitists think we the people are!

One of the best hubs I have read. Voted up as awesome! Frog Prince, I know you already know about this, but in case some of your visitors don't, here's a link to Mitt Romney's video called "bumps in the road". It includes real life people who are among the 23 million people that Obama called "bumps in the road" to economic recovery:

Your analysis is spot on - and it baffles me why everyone's eyes aren't open to his empty suit rhetoric. Bumps in the road indeed which explains why he hasn't taken any action - he doesn't consider the "bumps" worthy of his notice.

quatrain - Maybe, but I doubt it, Obama's sheeple will realize that they are no more than bumps to Obama. He'll throw them under the bus so fast it would make their heads spin.

Obama points to the claim that Romney is paying a lower tax than a person making $50K....a total lie....Romney is paying far more taxes than anyone making $50K though his "tax rate" maybe lower because the money derived is a capital gain...not a payroll check. Romney did not create that tax code and currently does not have the power to change it. When that is pointed out, the President simply "misspoke"...wow, what a convenient little device to con votes. Obama says the economy should "grow from the middle out" instead of "from the top down". Who in the middle has the money to invest in such growth? Obama has the economy chained up six ways from Sunday. He wants to tax the very middle of the economic sector...the small business units plus he wants to load them down with healthcare burdens.....he calls that "growing from the middle". Either he is really dim or we are really dumb. You decide. ~WB

Here's the funny thing. Today, Obama is supposed to "denounce" the what happened in Libya at his UN address. What perfect timing; he's only two weeks late! His timing really does match with his view of what happened in Libya as just a bump on the road.

Carney said, "democratic in nature" ?????? speaking of these countries that are burning our embassies??? OMG! Either these people really do have a collective mental disease, or. . . nope, no or I can think of right now. Obama believes a ridiculous ideal of collective salvation, so a collective mental disorder is an idea he would approve of.

Hitler zombies, Obama zombies . . . I never understood how Hitler actually did it, but I am starting to understand. It is such a preposterous event when people actually defend this administration. How do you defeat a collective mental illness. Savage has been saying it for years (I haven't listened to Savage since I no longer have a drive home at that time slot); but it just sounded like a radio personality gimmick for dramatic effect a few years ago.

My son and yours are two of a kind your Royal Highness. Mine will NOT be voting for the snake oil salesman this time out either. In fact, he asked me to pick up an absentee ballot for him should he not feel up to going on election day. I hope it's not too late.

Fantastic post as usual Frog. You hit it right on the head. Obama is not willing to accept responsibility for anything. His "bumps in the road" are really just his own failures. He thumps his chest whenever he has a rare success, like getting Bin Laden, but everything else is "exogenous," something nobody can control. What this fool doesn't understand is that "control" is causing most of the "bumps." Government cannot "improve" anything, only a free people can. In the main, the most valuable thing government can do is NOTHING. People achieve the most happiness and success when they are free from government mandates and restrictions. This is the precise reason our Founders limited federal powers to about a dozen items with a material nexus to international affairs. It was NEVER intended that purely domestic law be promulgated by the federal government; the Founders delegated these powers to the states precisely to prevent the central tyranny we are suffering now. What a crisis that so many died 230 years ago to throw off a tyrannical king, just to be replaced now by a socialist dictator.

Wow. That was in your face. Love it by the way. You are right on every count. One of the scariest things on top of the nightmares of ineptitude you point out, to me, is that we are just starting to feel the squeeze that will be put on the economy once the Obama-care Tax kicks in coupled with the ongoing monthly flood of more money. Inflation is about to get up close and personal. That's not going to help unemployment unless one works for the IRS. They are still hiring I hear. America can't take four more years!

Read article and comments as always, Frog. Double wow on this one. Bumps in the road have caused many an accident, one should approach them with caution and care.

Frog: Thanks for writing on this one, Jim. I heard that "bumps in the road" remark and COULDN'T write about it. Fingers couldn't handle the keys on the keyboard; they were clenched into fists too tightly.

You called it; his Presidency is the bump in the road we need to eliminate.
