Looking Over The Edge

I'm Not Seeing Grandma At The Bottom At All

Things are an absolute mess right now and all I see in the Oval Office is an empty chair. The President of the United States is off all over the nation selling his brand of false snake oil (formerly known as hope and change) and not tending to the nation's business as usual. There is a reason he is known as The Campaigner-In-Chief. Maybe it has something to do with that is what he is really good at and likes to do. He does love the limelight and his teleprompter. But then again what good is having an empty suit sitting in what is normally an empty chair.

We see the results of almost 4 years of failed policies (Obamanomics) and this narcissistic personality is out there begging the electorate to give him four more years to finish the destruction of a nation which he began in January of 2009. I am always amazed when I hear a far left talking head, including Obama himself, claim that the recession was worse than anyone had thought. By all accounts my research indicates that this administration declared that the recession was over in August of 2009 and we were going to have a Summer of Recovery in 2010. Neither of those really happened. Did them saying it make you feel good?

The Nation Needs Leadership. Obama Doesn't Do That!

We've got The Muslim Botherhood crowd invading our embassy in Egypt, tearing down our flag and raising an Islamic flag. in Libya our Ambassador and several other Americans have been killed and the embassy torched, our President refusing to meet with the Prime Minister of Israel about the Iranian problem (the administration as usual denies it - see the last bullet on the chart above) and Moody's has just announced that it is set to downgrade the nation's credit rating after previously tagging us with a negative outlook.

NOTE: "Looking at the White House calendar, there is no public record of President Barack Obama attending his daily intelligence briefing--known as the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB)--in the week leading up to the attacks on the U.S. embassy in Cairo and the murder of U.S. Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens and three American members of his staff." Fact is he has been ignoring those briefings too.

Where is Obama? Not in Washington DC where he should be and not leading like he should be and never has. He's out doing what he does best. Begging voters to send him back for more destruction. If he hadn't failed so miderably in his first term he wouldn't have to be out there begging and pleading his cased. This guy makes the Jimmie Carter administration seem like a dream.

What I'm about to say I have written about before. This is a combination of things and deals with the budget and the lack thereof. The focus of this election needs to be the economy and not all these side show social issues that the DNC presented during their convention. Not one word was uttered during those 3 days about the national debt sailing by the $16 trillion mark, not one word. Obama sure wasn't going to trumpet how he has single handedly done in less than 4 years what Presidents 1 through 42 couldn't accomplish collectively. He has added $5.4 trillion to the debt. He promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. Do you see that happening or are you accepting every excuse the man has to give for failing to do so?

The Democratic Problem

I'll put a link down at the bottom so you can read about a Roundtuit. No matter what Obama says about the credit rating agencies not meaning diddly as he did when S & P downgraded our debt rating (another first in history for Obama - Yippee!) if Moody's downgrades us it will have some serious implications on this nation's ability to borrow any more money. Moody's is a little more polite in their phrasing than I am but I'm not Moody's. I'm going to call it exactly like I see it without any attempt at political correctness.

The Obama Administration has not passed a budget since it assumed office. Any budget that Obama has presented has not garnered one vote, even from his own party. At the beginning of this administration the Democrats held both houses of Congress and got so busy doing other things that they failed to submit and pass an annual budget as required by federal law. The explanation at the time was "we didn't have time to get a round to it." 2010 came and the House was returned to a semblance of sanity. Budgets have been submitted by the House to the Senate the last two Congresses and the US Senate, still under Democratic control, refuses to have anything to do with proposing, much less passing a federal budget. It isn't a matter of having time to get a ROUNDTUIT, it's a matter of they don't want to do it.

Now how do you think the major credit rating agency view that sort of nonsense? Moody's issued the warning when the idiots up there wrangled over raising the debt limit. How about we lower spending? That's what the normal household has to do when it reaches the crisis point. It's either that or bankruptcy here we come.

Then there was a smoke and mirrors commission established and Obama had to know damned well that no sort of agreement was going to come out of that and automatic cuts would kick in. It was structured and staffed by Congress that way. You keep hearing about reaching the fiscal cliff so let me explain to you how the world of credit raters see it. We're looking right over the edge again right now.

If Congress does not reach a budget deal and many don't have that happening because Congress hasn't passed one in almost 4 years we reach the "fiscal cliff." On January 2 there will be $1.2 trillion in spending cuts and tax increases automatically kicked in. That's what the world of finance refers to as the "fiscal cliff. Economists with a brain, not the Keynesian types Obama likes to employ, predict that the "kick in" will send the economy back into recession and drive unemployment up. Now that's all we need with already 23 million people out of work or under employed, and where the #%^& IS Obama? Out on the campaign trail selling snake oil is where. Moody's put a negative on us last year for failure to have a budget and having to raise the debt limit again. I don't think they are playing and issuing idle threats this time around. The US Senate has once again failed to do its primary job as required by law. I have to believe that one Harry Reid and one Barack Obama are in cahoots about not pasing a budget. Without a budget we see the type of spending we've seen since Obama was inaugurated. The tax and spend party had a lot of pent up spending energy and they let loose with it and want to do more.

Folks, it's time to stop. Seriously it is. It won't be Granny at the bottom of the cliff if we don't. It will be this nation. All of us collectively and it won't spare our kids, our grand kids or ourselves. You can continue to think everything is going to be alright and believe what ideologues like Obama say in order to get reelected but the real world is now knocking at the door.

  • Unemployment above 8% for 43 consecutive months. 23 million people out of work or underemployed.
  • National debt increased to $16 trillion in less than 4 years. Promises to cut it in half were lies.
  • Median household income down $4,300.00 during Obama's tenure.
  • Gasoline prices just hit the $3.86 mark. How's your wallet feeling?

"You Either Get Free Stuff or You Get Freedom"

It's either time for us to push back from the edge or let Obamanomics blow us over the edge of the cliff onto the rocks below. Will Congress get aroundtuit? In a major election year those cats are more interested in their skin than they are in yours. They're cushions on their seats are in jeopardy.

The other thing Moody's noted in their alert that on top of the budget issue that before the end of the year it appears that the nation will again reach its debt limit. What does that mean? If I have to draw you a picture about that issue you're lost.

Would you expect the President of the United States to stop his campaign trip, cancel his appearance in Las Vegas and return to our nation's Capitol with the amount of sheer lunacy roiling around us? Don't. He has every intention of campaigning on. Don't believe me? Fact check me.

As Always,

Why can't anyone see this man is no president? I don't care if they hate republicans or what they will be so sorry if they put this man in office. I honestly think if he does not become president he will try to ruin us before he leaves, that is honestly my fear, and I wish they would impeach him. Every new day he is in office is a misery to my soul that I helped put him there.

But Frog, Biden Claims Obama’s A Badass: “This Guy’s Gotta Backbone Like A Ramrod . . . He Doesn’t Lead From Behind . . . He Just Leads”…

And..."Things were really bad, he inherited an impossible problem, he's done as well as anyone possibly could have, things are starting to get better, he's a good guy, and he needs more time" ~Clinton

And what about..."GOP obstructionism"?

We must go "FORWARD" over that cliff! Because he is a nice, articulate black guy and y'all are racists. Get out the chains!

There, did I take care of all the looney liberal comments that were coming?

How about this motto "FOUR WORDS" (VOTE THE BUMS OUT)

Did Clinton forget? "Good Guys" come in last! Oh, but they wouldsay he is a "bad ass good guy".

SassySue1963 4 years ago

I agree with you Frog, however, it seems they've upped the strength of the kool-aid. It is not currently looking good for the GOP. Romney needs to drop the good guy attitude and attack hard at the debates. All these things they've let go because they are trying to look like the ones not attacking have to be addressed. I am scared and not afraid to say it. This President will ruin us.

Very scary times FP and the lack of leadership is absolutely appalling. And what's happening in Libya and Syria is downright scary and out of control and that it happened on 9-11 and then apologizing????? Shades of Jimmy Carter.

Keep on preaching it Frog! This is a message that MUST be heard. So many people out there do not take the time to become informed of the FACTS. At best, many of them listen to the nightly news and hear the liberal spin on issues, and make a half-@ssed decsion.

I also find it amazing how our POTUS cannot find time to sit down with Netanyahu pertraining a very serious situation in the middle east, but has found some time to visit with David Letterman! This man does NOT have the best interests of Americans. He must go!

Chris - Obama finds greater pleasure being a comic and a smartass out there on the campaign trail. Leaders don't have to do that. Not only do they not have to but it shouldn't be done.

Hi Frog,

Wait till Taxmageddon kicks in. Overall federal intake will soar by about 23%. The average household will pay an additional $5,000 in federal income taxes. I guess if it went to deficit reduction we could grin and bear it. But you KNOW what's going to happen - Camelot will just find new ways to spend it - more agencies, more staff, pay hikes, etc. And more staff means more regulations, adding to a load that already costs some small businesses as much as $10,000 per year per employee in federal regulatory compliance costs. It's getting to the point where you have to economies of scale just to comply with the EPA, OSHA, FTC, SEC, etc. The big companies are offshoring, so we need small businesses if we want to create American jobs. Alot of small companies will be holding employment under 50 people just so they don't have to comply with ObamaCare; think about what that does to employment when a small business wants to expand. Even if the demand is there at the consumer level, the small business owner can't afford to take the health care hit from the new federal health care law. So the company just freezes their staff level. I'd explain this to Oblabber, but I don't know which tee he's on.

Obama and Reid are content to run the nation into the ground with the idea that it will simply prove the Republicans wrong on taxation. Our spending is up over 140% since Obama took office....revenue inflow up only by 43%....that is not an outgrowth of the Bush tax cuts nor would the Bush tax cuts make up the deficit between the two. This is treason...plain and simple because it is being done by intent even though the responsible parties...Reid and Obama....know the potential pitfall. Treason! ~WB

Obama would be a fool to trumpet his negative policies but what are the Repubs waiting for? If they don't start attacking his lack of leadership and foolhardy decisions right now then they are foolish and we will all pay the penalty.

tsadjatko - Not you. You would know what to do. Obama is clueless.

Stu - Don't know if you followed the latest IRS news. Between HHS and the IRS they published 18 pages of guidelines about what consitutues full time employment. Last time I checked it was 40 hours in this country. The new guidelines for Obamacare now state it's 30 hours. Talk about running a game. The whole health care reform effort is nothing more than the feds running a game all about control.

Wayne - Thass right and the national debt now exceeds the GDP. People better start waking up. What we are seeing has to be intentional. No one is that damn stupid.

drbj - What you are sounding is getting louder. If Romney doesn't take off the gloves and start pounding hard then the nation is in big trouble. If the GOP does beat him to a pulp verbally over his failures and continued failures then the RNC needs to close shop and resign and let people with a brain start over. With Obama's record this should be a cake walk election.

Today's St. Louis Post-Dispatch published the upcoming results of a job survey for hiring in STL for Oct-Dec 2012 by Manpower, Inc. that says 14% of STL employers "plan" on hiring while 12% are laying off workers. A year ago, the figures were 20% planned on hiring while 7% planned to layoff workers. St. Louis lost 200 jobs from July 2011 to July 2012.

Budgeting for me now means no health insurance, no doctor or dental visits and bare bones at the grocery store. I recently read, in contrast, that Mrs. Obama bought one of the limited edition of an exclusive collector's perfume from The House of Creed called Royal Service scent that cost her $1,750. I don't have a problem with what she spends on life's little luxuries, as it's none of my business, but I would ask that the First Lady not insult my intelligence by trying to convince me that the Obama's are in touch with the likes of me and the majority of struggling American's today.

Stu 4 years ago

Frog,

No surprise here. Central economic planning always involves eventual loss of social freedom, no matter what Obama's "anything goes" social policies at the moment are. To implement central economic planning, you have to tell people where to work, how long to work, what to study, where to live, etc. Progressivism always eventually leads to populism (complete dictatorship over both economic and social policy).

What a terrific hub. There is no way this president is going to roll up his sleeves and act like a president. He prefers acting like a dictator and thus far he has gotten away with it. Romney has so much to talk about, I just hope he steps up his game and makes a strong case to the American people. The frightening thing is that despite all we know and despite the deep doo-do we are in, there are still people out there who are not convinced that Obama is dangerous. Shouldn't it be necessary to have a brain in order to vote? Up and awesome and fierce too!

Deborah - Obama led from behind in Libya. Rather than put the boots on the ground that were needed. Obama has no concept of warfare and hostility. Now we are paying the price. He allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to take over Egypt and threw Hosni Mubarak under the bus. Mubarak wasn't the ideal bvut we now see what the result of not backing him is.

America can't survive one more day of this madness. The great depression will look like a picnic party in the breeze if the current trend is not stopped. He couldn't pass a budget because he had not the time to get "roundtoit"? He surely found plenty of time to play golf, visit Hawaii, not salute the flag, insult our allies, force a tax upon the land so the sick and dying can not be treated per a panel that evaluates care based off contribution (funny it used to be one got care based off being human), allow millions of illegal aliens to invade our borders, sold out our own Seal team (and let's not forget the selling out that was Fast and Furious), have composed the 2700 plus pages of said healthcare tax, (thank you supreme sellouts... ahem... court), castrate the military, sing to entertain the nation, attack the constitution and the freedoms granted Americans under it, but no, there was no time to write a budget to help the nation.

Keep at it, Sir Frog. America needs your voice of reason amongst the sea of insanity now more than ever.

Excellent Hub, Frog! The polls that showed Obama in the lead this week have been a bit discouraging, but I think that we as conservatives have a chance to fire up our base and get the vote out much more than those on the left. I do think Romney is still missing a little "Umph!" for lack of a better term. That man has got to get out there and hammer the ever loving daylights out of Obama's message! Romney has to adopt this mindset of--this is the Super Bowl, 4th quarter, with a 1:30 left to play, we're on our own 18 yard line--and I'm Joe Montana. Romney has got to FIGHT for this thing!

lol So I smell something fishy in DC and it ain't the Potomac! Those great polls are dropping awfully fast and that was before all this erupted in the Middle East. Rasmussen shows Romney ahead by 1 now. Say what? I think we should all just ignore the polls because it is apparent some, shall we say, manipulation is going on somewhere.

tsadjatko profile image

tsadjatko 4 years ago from maybe (the guy or girl) next door

The problem with the polls is that because of cell phones and other reasons pollsters can't obtain all the necessary demographics so they weight the results based on historic turn outs of voter groups. For example if they can't contact the right proportion of black voters in a sample they weight that result to 13 % which was the turn out of black voters in 2008 even though the historical turnout is only 11 %. They always make these adjustments favor groups that vote democrat so you never really know the true results...which invariably would be in favor of Romney. The recent polls are completely bogus. If they are not undersampling Republicans/Independents and oversampling Democrats, they are screwing up (perhaps deliberately) the turnout models. The most recent Rasmussen poll weighted African Americans at 13+% turnout, when the historical turnout is 11%. The same poll under-weighted seniors. It's all crap. Romney is winning, and by a fair margin...and that's during the DNC bounce.

William - There chess game using a map of the country gives them something to do to justify their positions. I encourage people tpo become poll watchers to keep voter fraud down. I sense it will be a bigger problem this election than it was in 2008.

TFP

SassySue1963 4 years ago

I'm not sure it is foolish per se. Perhaps more calculated. President Obama needs that voter excitement and turn out among his base that he received in 2008 and it simply is not going to happen. Meanwhile, the GOP base is fired up and most likely has a good turn out. In my mind, it is an effort to discourage the opposition from showing up to vote. I might just be paranoid about this Administration and their far reaching sneakiness at this point though. lol Just remember, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you!!! :)

What I'm afraid of and no one is talking about is the possibility that the elections will be suspended Remember North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue’s “joke” that by sober evaluation was not a joke, but a flatly put suggestion called by some a “trial balloon”: that congressional elections should perhaps be suspended.

http://robertringer.com/roberts-insights/will-the-...

Gov. Perdue is one of ten appointed by Barack Obama to serve on a very NWO-ish sounding Council of State Governors, arrayed around the country, purposed to handle responses militaristic and otherwise, to national emergencies. That might seem to be just the kind of council (and remember the Russian word for governing council is “soviet”) that would deal with the suspension of our Constitutional governance and the imposition of something instead which would lay in a spectrum between that and dictatorial, martial law.

Remember you heard it here first when it happens. (but not an original thought btw :-)

The latest insanity is QE3 which will pump $40 billion into the economy every MONTH until the job creation picture improves. This move was just announced by the Federal Reserve. In other words it is going to print more useless dollars to further devalue the useless dollars on the market. This caused Egan-Jones to lower its credit rating to AA-. Isee Moody's and others following suit.

QE2 and QE1 were both failures. So we should expect success now from QE3? Throwing good money after bad with a failed economic policies agenda. That is what we got wit Obama.
