Misstatement? Not Little Joey Again...

Just A Heartbeat Away...

They are becoming known as "Bidenisms" and if you want to see more than a few just Google the term and viola. Now this is getting pathetic. Team Obama is so desperate to attach the "47%" campaign donor remark to anybody and everybody that he has drawn in our fighting force. This is the sort of rhetoric is what I expect to see from an administration that can't run on its record and if you've been watching the record is getting worse.

Sometimes it actually makes the headlines when someone calls Joe Biden an idiot. I'm never sure why because anyone who has watched him over the course of his pick pocketing, political career knows that now before he even opens his mouth. And to think that he is just one heartbeat away from leading this nation. I'm not sure who would be worse - Obama or Biden. Flip a coin? Who knows?

Here's how desperation works and Biden slams his foot in his chops.

Really Joey?

Little Joey obviously gets easily confused. Either that or he doesn't read the news. We know that Team Obama skips security briefings so they must have missed this fact last week. The US military strength in Afghanistan was drawn down by the 33K surge troops and troop strength sits at 68K now. Oh DUH Joey! Isn't it a comfort to know that there is but one heartbeat?

Then I keep hearing what great speeches he is delivering? That might be true for an idiot who can't ever get his facts straight. Or is it that he is just playing the role of a hapless attack dog for Team Obama who is known as a walking gaffe?

I won't spell the actual numbers out for you but rest assured that the majority of the force presently in Afghanistan consist of US Army troops rounded out by National Guard and Reserve components. Here's a link though that maybe Joey should look at before he starts wagging his jaw in desperation.

Here's the true rub with this veteran about what Joey muttered. I find it deplorable that the Vice President wants to interject the United States military, in any form or fashion, into his attacks of his political opponents. I find that a bit despicable. Those people, if they are part of the 47% who pay no income tax in this nation, are paying for the price of freedom at times with their blood but always with their sweat and time.

The other part of the 47%, truth be known, aren't paying a skinny penny toward the national defense of their nation. Now there's something to put out there on the stump Biden. I could care less whether our combat force is paying income tax while in Afghanistan. What is normal, and Biden also has left out, is the exclusion that usually occurs from paying income tax while in a hostile fire zone. Lets not confuse the BX heroes found in Washington DC with the heroes found in a war zone.

The other glaring falsehood in his statement is that our forces don't pay income taxes. That is also far from the truth, some will and some won't depending on their rank and tax situation. Team Obama is trying to make a one size fits all statement out of what Romney was pointing out and it just doesn't work out that way in reality. But Team Obama seems to live in an alternate reality that many people still fail to see or appreciate.

650,000 non-income tax payers in Afghanistan? How preposterous! Those men and women don't need to pay that sort of tax Biden, they are paying a much greater price than you would ever imagine.

Good one.

Can you imagine if Biden had to take over for Obama. That is just one more reason not to have Obama win reelection.

Strange, but we only hear from Biden during election campaigns.

I forgot to comment on the flag.

That is the flag for what has been done to the country by the politicians.

It is not vibrant, it is vague, and it stands for nothing.

Time for them to take their new flag and find a new country to raise it.

Biden is such an ignoramus -- if one wants to dream up a true nightmare picture him as POTUS as you said. As for the flag thingy -- it looks to me like it's something fading into the distance -- disappearing a bit at a time with only faint shadows left of what that flag once was -- and unfortunately, that's exactly what's happening to both the flag and this country -- just fading away. Hey FP!

Yeah, I'm not sure who exactly would be worse as President between Biden and Obama. Either way, we'd be doomed as a nation. I can only hope that this is a Carter/Reagan scenario and the bulk of Americans are not truly that gullible nor unaware as polls seem to indicate.

I agree about that pathetic campaign gimmick flag as well. Did my own little Hub/rant about that one!!!

I don't ever remember escaping paying income taxes in my 21 years; I had to file a return every year. While in Vietnam we had extended deadlines to file. Sometimes I got money back because I didn't make very much until later years. When you are talking numbers, the "troops", one term enlistment types, usually would make up the bulk of any numbers and they simply don't make enough to pay taxes. So that leaves you with the career folks who would have families and higher incomes that would pay taxes and those numbers are much less than percentage wise (maybe as much as 75% less) than any overall troop count like Biden was trying to extract from his pee brain.

I would venture to say that most career military families pay income taxes, unless of course they happen to be exempt when in a war zone or receive other credits that offset their income; primarily because most have no expenses to claim (i.e. mortgage, real estate taxes, and medical deductions) which usually would reduce your taxable icome. Also, when in a combat zone they are paid combat pay which increases their income unless again, it is exempt. As a retiree I certainly pay my share of taxes, in fact in some cases I'm paying them twice on the same income.

So besides screwing up the number, Biden is screwing up the logic but then again when you are screwed up yourself, that is easy to accomplish.

Biden is incredible. Of course all pol's make mistakes in unscripted scenarios from time to time, but for what was in the clip he had the opportunity to research ahead of time. He has no excuse here. I can't in all fairness criticize him even for this one mistake, as even in scripted situations errors can slip in. The bigger issue is that he makes so many mistakes, giving the impression that he doesn't know what's going on around him. Not a good trait for someone who is a heartbeat away from the Prewsident's chair.

Bidenisms! Love the term. I really don't get how he was the most viewed speaker at the DNC other than the possibility that everyone tuned in for him knowing he would utter another Bidenism and didn't want to miss it! That man has no knowledge of our military, government, the people or the Constitution. What he does have a good working knowledge of is how to con folks. Great one, Sir Frog. Keep them coming!

It's a shame that your post is so laden with misinformation and false "facts" because Biden is a humorous guy. Using his frequents gaffs as a jab at Obama for not going to his "intel briefings" though is just ludicrous and shows your own lack of facts at hand. How does that saying go again, the one about the log in your own eye?

Ryan is definitely a better debator and speaker than Biden. It should be interesting to see how it all goes - hopefully, we will see a truthful outcome from Ryan.

Casey - I stick to FACTS. Not misinformation either or did you not watch the video to see exactly what Biden said. I gave you a link to troop strength. What else would you like? You lefties need to at least do some research before you stick your foot in your mouth like Crazy Uncle Joe does. I am very familiar with Biden. Been watching him for years as he gaffes his way through politics. I take what you wrote with a grain of salt. If you'd care to actually point out my "misinformation" then post some lionks so the rest of us can read how wise you are.

In the meantime, go here: http://politicalhumor.about.com/od/joebiden/a/bide...

If you'd care to debate FACTS then give us some. You can't because Biden is a damned nut case.

Ludicrous? Your comment certainly disqualifies YOU, Casey, from labeling anyone as ludicrous. I suppose we need more "humorous" guys in the white house, maybe call it the SNL house?

Stu 4 years ago

You say "Biden is a humorous guy." Biden is an IDIOT. Here are some notable quotes from the imbecile:

''A man I'm proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next President of the United States -- Barack America!''

''I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man.''

''If we do everything right, if we do it with absolute certainty, there's still a 30% chance we're going to get it wrong.''

''Stand up, Chuck, let 'em see ya.'' (Joe Biden, to Missouri State Sen. Chuck Graham, who is in a wheelchair)

''Look, John's last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number-one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S, jobs.''

''You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.... I'm not joking.''

Need I go on?

Casey - What misinformation are you referring to? Can you be specific? Not only is pointing to anything Biden or any other VP in the history of the nation did good, it's required! It's called free speech. It's called being knowledgeable of and actively involved in your government. It's called being a good American citizen. Questioning government is at the heart of our system of government. It's an ideal that a FREE nation was built on and what allows freedom to survive.

The jabs have happened to every single one of them. Why on earth do you think it shouldn't happen with Biden? Because he's too stupid to fend it off for himself? He makes too many easy to pick off "Bidenisms"? Is he God's right hand? Please! The Frog always tells the truth with hard cold facts that he can and does back up. Would you like to challenge a specific one or just throw out generalities?

Sensitive bunch of boys here....

What "FACTS" did you get wrong? Here's an excerpt from the right wing WaPo:

Walter Pincus earlier this year examined how Obama has handled his morning foreign-policy discussions:

Obama reads the PDB ahead of time and comes to the morning meeting with questions. Intelligence briefers are there to answer those questions, expand on a point or raise a new issue. [National Intelligence Director James] Clapper may be present once or twice a week, but most often one of his deputies is in attendance in case an intelligence community issue arises.

When Pincus refers to the “morning meeting,” he is describing a regular national security meeting that is held every day at 9:30 a.m. with the president’s top advisers. In his article, he cites a meeting that took place on Jan. 13, 2012, that included discussion of the PDB with one of Clapper’s deputies. Yet the White House public schedule for that day lists no such meeting — and no PDB meeting. So the entire controversy appears based on a semantic distinction — or perhaps inaccurate White House schedules.

Thomas S. Blanton, director of the National Security Archive at George Washington University, says that there have been “lots of variation in the briefing patterns” among presidents, with different consequences.

George W. Bush “wanted personal and oral, and that matched CIA’s institutional interest in face to face with the president, much better for their bureaucratic politics, but unclear how good it was for presidential decision making,” he said. “On Iraq WMD [weapons of mass destruction], the direct brief was clearly pernicious; reading might have pointed to the dissents, but the briefers did not.”

In contrast, Bill “Clinton the reader was known to comment that his morning papers were better than the intel brief, and better written — to the point that the CIA director James Woolsey joked that when that Cessna crashed into the White House, that was him seeking an audience with the president.”

Richard Nixon also had few, if any, oral briefings and instead received his intelligence from the morning memo of his national security adviser, Henry Kissinger.

Let's start there... I didn't get much beyond the name calling, petty back-biting and the flat out lie that Obama doesn't attend security meetings. Our problem in this country isn't Obama, it's the blissful ignorance of people who think they have a clue what is going on when they have it spoonfed to them, in pablum form, by right wingbat blogs.

I too like the facts:

Fact: The State Dept. did not secure Ambassador Stevens despite warnings and the ever present threat of 9-11 anniversaries.

Fact: Ambassador Stevens noted that he was worried in his journal, and he must have passed that on to his superiors in State.

Fact: Barack Obama called the murder of an Ambassador and three other Americans, a 'bump in the road'.

Fact: For 8 long days, the Obama administration stubbornly denied that the murder of our Ambassador was a terrorist act, despite all evidence to the contrary.

Fact: After hearing about the death of Stevens, Obama went to Nevada to campaign, and the biased media said nothing. Bush flew over New Orleans after Katrina and was crucified by the same media for lack of empathy.

Fact: Obama's Cairo 2009 speech on our new Islamic policy is a disaster.

Fact: Obama called the murder of Ambassador Stevens a crime, and sent the FBI who failed to secure the scene, because CNN just walked in and picked up Steven's diary! What else is missing?

There are lots more facts where that came from, so save your defense of Obama. He is a disaster, and has no business being in the Oval Office.

Your ObaMessiah skin seems a little thin Casey plus the fact that this Hub is about Joe Biden. Did you get so blinded by stupidity that you didn't pick up on the actual subject? Whether Obama is in the briefing or not, when an issue arises with the implications surrounding the situation at our embassy in Libya, the buck stops with the President. Whoever his people were in attendance at the meeting did not see fit to advise him of the situation or maybe this President is just too hands off and lets others decide such matters. Either way, the ball was fumbled and fumbled big time. Then the defense position is that it was all caused by a video and not really an act of terror. The excuses never stop and we get fed the same thing...."The President misspoke" "Biden was just being Biden"....on and on indicating that the American people should just shrug their shoulders as if they encountered a bump in the road and not look back. This administration has botched the domestic affairs of America and is now doing one whale of a job of blowing the bottom out of international affairs. We have a media that questions Romney's belief in God because he is a Morman by faith yet they have no problem with the sitting president surrounding himself with socialist and communist sympathizers?????? Blah Blah Blah After 9/11 our government tried to kick start us again, and we were swimming upstream. Bad decisions were made. In 06 when the Democrats had the majority until today, the policies were exact opposite of what we needed. The last real president we had was a long time ago. Somehow, I missed where the military is part of the 47%. If so, everyone knows that they don't count those mail in votes 95% of the time. I cannot tell you why, I just know it is so. They claim that they do not count them when it would not make a difference. Makes me angry every time I have heard it. So they are quite often lost to the formula of winners and losers. Sad. Millions of us are praying, and feeling the effects. I believe in miracles.

There are not enough votes for 3 parties. If enough vote for Ron Paul, Obama will win. Either the USA will be done for, or we will have a civil war. I pray not. I believe we are in the process of taking back the Republican party. That is the answer, not 3 parties.

You must vote your conscience, and I must vote mine.

Goodness! Joe Biden’s gaffes just get worse and worse. On the campaign trail Biden said of Barack Obama, “There’s never been a day in the last four years I’ve been proud to be his vice president. Not one single day.”

Watch the clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPdTSnmzdb4&fea... and listen tothe crowd cheer! What do they do pay those people to cheer no matter what is said?

Interesting that the only time he tells the truth is when he doesn't realize what he is saying ! That's Joe ! The frightening thing is that this idiot has been in state government for 26 years. how many others are there just as stupid and helping to make important decisions for our government.
