In this life, you never know if something is good or not as soon as it occurs.Just wait a while to see the outcome of what happened before to judge. Some things seem good for you at first sight, but in reality they aren't.Some things seem bad for you but in reality they're good for you.
That's what Hasan understood so let's find out who Hasan is ,then we'll listen to him recounting us his experience.
Hasan is an old man,he has two children :one girl and one boy(what we call ,the king's choice). He has a big garden where he grows every kind of fruits and vegetables.Hasan is very popular in the village and in the surroundings. His reputation of good worker and courageous man has reached even the big city. His children Yak and Maria are good kids.Yak (the boy) attended high school but didn't go farther and Maria didn't go far also, she stopped going to school when she was at the third year of secondary school.Yak helps his father at the farm by doing some works and by supervising the employees.Maria helps her mother Sally in the domestic tasks:washing clothes, cooking meals, sweeping the house and cleaning the utensils. In the village ,every girl wants to have Yak as a boy-friend because he's not only handsome but also good worker and honest guy.On the other hand, the boys fight for Maria.Sally, the housewife is a good mother and a nice wife, she's very sympathetic and ready to help everybody. So now that we know Hasan and his family, let's listen to him telling us about his experience.
"One day,I went to Karma,a village not far from mine.I went to the market then I saw a very nice horse.I liked that horse and decided to buy it .The owner hesitated to sell me his horse but I was very determined to have it.When he noticed this fact he finally gave in and I could buy the animal at a good price.I brought the horse home and when Yak saw it,he was very enthusiastic and eager to ride it.I was right to buy this horse because it won all the races organized in the area.As a matter of fact, during holidays ,all the neighboring villages gather in one place to organize horse races.A lot of people attend these events.Hurricane(it's the name of the horse),always wins.
Villagers came to my home to congratulate me for acquiring Hurricane.I only said:"perhaps!"People did not understand why I said so.They could not understand. This was a man who's horse won all the races ,you came to congratulate him then he could not find anything to say but "perhaps".But me I knew why I said that.
One day,Yak saddled Hurricane to go to a village not far from our farm,on the road, he fell down and his right leg was broken. When they heard the accident, people came again but this time it was to share the sadness with me about my boy's accident.I said again "perhaps".
Three weeks later, some soldiers came to our village in order to recruit young men for the army. They recruited a lot of teenagers in the villages around.Fortunately for me,my son was temporarily disabled therefore they couldn't took him.I did not want my son to go to the army.He 's the only son I have and he's very useful here.People came to congratulate me because my son had not been taken and I said "perhaps" once more.
Many months after these events,a very handsome man came to the village. He was very attractive and almost all the girls had eyes on him,but he chose my daughter Maria for marriage. As usual, people came to my house to congratulate me and as usual I said "perhaps".They didn't make any comment. They are accustomed to my answer.Always the same.We were preparing to celebrate the marriage when a man in uniform came from the big city with a picture of my future son-in-law .He was searching him. Why?He's a big crook who did a lot of bad things in the places he came from.I called all the members of my family then we decided to cancel the marriage.Villagers came again to my house. To congratulate me or to mourn with us?I did not know because I didn't give them the time to say something. I said to them:"My friends, never in this life rejoice or regret some thing so quickly, but wait a while to see what will happen afterwards. They replied;"Now we understand what you meant when you always said perhaps".
Men stayed with us for a long time,we talked about the village's problems, the problems of the region and many other things. Then every body went to their own occupations.
