More "Change" May Be on the Horizon

Harlotte Comes to Breakfast

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers Today is Monday, December 29, 2014. Our creative friend, Spider Harlotte, is at the breakfast table. She has heard whispers about some more unwelcome change being considered by President Obama and his pals Eric Holder and Al Sharpton. Harlotte has asked me to extend an invitation to all of you this morning. She will be serving buttery croissants with strawberry jam. I will be supplying the liquid refreshment. We hope to see you soon.

A Horrible Idea

Thank you all for joining me this morning. I have been hearing rumors that President Obama may be considering the establishment of a National Police Force. The thought of this possibly becoming a reality has sent chills down my spine. The president is of the opinion that we need a National Police Force in order to beef up our national security. He is loathe to depend upon our military. Instead he wants to create a force that is powerful and well-funded, which is rather strange in that he is doing everything possible to weaken our military and shrink it. The last thing America needs is a centralized police force with money and power. I wonder, is this how the Gestapo was born?

Now May Be the Perfect Time

There is nothing like a crisis to make bad ideas seem good. Now may be that time in light of the Ferguson and New York Grand Jury decisions. If you scare people enough they will accept ideas that were once thought hideous. The agitators, like Rev. Al Sharpton, are out in force stirring up the masses and creating riots. Congress has jumped on the bandwagon by passing legislation that will require states to report deaths of people arrested to the Attorney General. The tentacles of big government are spreading far and wide. Part and parcel of this overreach is the need to keep up the heat on police departments all over the country. President Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder and Sharpton are making sure that another divide opens and remains open in an already divided America. The police are now the enemy of the people, or at least the enemy of people of color. It really isn't a stretch of the imagination to see how this attack on law enforcement can precipitate the creation of a super powerful and "better" police force.

Too Close for Comfort

President Obama has met with Rev. Al Sharpton enough times to scare the hell out of this spider. How Sharpton went from tax evader and worse to a confidant of the president is an unfathomable nightmare. It should come as no surprise to anyone that Sharpton is calling for federal intervention because of the Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Eric Garner deaths. Perhaps there should have been federal intervention in the Tawana Brawley incident in which a young man took his own life because of false accusations made by Sharpton and Brawley. Sharpton wants the laws changed. The fact that the Constitution restricts federal involvement in criminal and policing issues to a very small area, is of no interest to Sharpton. The Constitution has no influence on Rev. Al. His mentor in this area is President Barack Obama.

Let's Stay Alert

I hope none of the above comes to pass. If it does, it won't come in the form of a big huge transformation. It will come slowly, under the guise of some already existing program. In the end nothing will ever be the same again. If we don't stay on top of things, one of these days we will wake up to see federal police marching through our cities and towns. May that day never happen. God Bless America...

Harlotte's Song

Oh, what a tangled web they weave

When first they practice to deceive.

Sir Walter Scott

I would like to take a moment to wish all of the Breakfastpoppers a Happy and Healthy New Year! You rock!!!!

Seems to me that many a dictator has attempted and succeeded in establishing a national police force under the guise of protecting their citizens. I want none of it, thank you very much.

Happy New Year my friend.

Pop and Harlotte,

Just what we need. A goon squad to physically beat us up while the IRS psychologically terrorizes us.

Happy New Year.

We already have fusion centers that allows for the feds and local police to share information. If a national police force is created, I suspect it will be justified by this precedent.

Good Morning billy,

Obama is just loaded with bad ideas. He never seems to run out of awful things to foist upon us. Let's try to forget about him for as long as possible and enjoy the New Year. See you at the Inn.

Good Morning Tom,

Nothing about this man and his buddies surprises me anymore. After all this is a guy who bows to our enemies. See you at the Inn. It may be the last safe place in the nation once the "troops" come marching through.

Good Morning Hxprof,

You are absolutely correct. The National Police Force will pop up without a lot of fanfare. By the time we are all aware of it, it will be too late. See you at the Inn. I may just move in (no pun intended).

The very thought of a National Police Force should scare the heck out of everyone that hears about it. If the TSA is any example of the quality we would see god help us. I can't think of a single government run operation that could not be done cheaper and more effectively by a private company.

Obama is about to get on thin ice, along with our Congress, with the citizens of this nation. While I don't think the man isn't intelligent, I am sensing he is stupid enough and so full of himself that he doesn't sense the mood of the American people who have turned on all the nonsense occurring in the nation's Capitol. There is sometimes truth in the saying "enough is enough" and we're nearing that point. Just my opinion from talking to people along my path in life. Have a restful New Year and lets get ready to do what has to be done if it has to be done.

Dear Mike,

It is wonderful to have you at the breakfast table. Let's hope and pray this heinous idea never gets off the ground. No good can possibly come of it. Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy New Year. See you at the Inn.

Dear Frog Prince,

My sense of Obama is that he is fueled by anger and s bored by the responsibilities inherent in the presidency. He is an ideological nightmare who never should have been elected in this country. I just read that he is more than ready to exercise his veto. Nothing will be done to reverse this mess. Have a happy and healthy New Year.

If they are going to start a national police force, they should start with protecting the Internet. More damage can be done by losing control of the Internet than any physical manifestation.

The Internet is prone to attack by virtue of its 1970s ancestor. The whole concept of the Internet is outdated because of its protocols. When it was originally created the world of hardware was primitive, and the speeds were limited by the telephone capabilities of the time.

The states and the federal government need to protect our now ubiquitous, and totally necessary Internet from hackers of all kinds, including those directed by the government that spy on their citizens.

We didn't elect Al Sharpton, and Eric Holder is supposed to be leaving.

Doesn't Obama have a golf tournament to play or a fund raiser to go to?

Dear bradmaster,

Legislation has been around to protect the internet and our power grid. Frankly, the issue just didn't seem to arouse any sense of urgency in Washington. That doesn't surprise me at all. We no longer take charge before something happens. Instead, we wait and then scramble to react. Obama is on the golf course today. In fact, because he simply had to play, a wedding had to be moved to another venue on the property. Nice guy! See you at the Inn.

Sharpton never had a good idea in his life and to think Obama considers him good counsel is ridiculous. The NSA and FBI are already getting away with spying on us and now a national police force will be their tool to lock up mostly innocent people they snare in their traps, then plunk them into prisons that are already overcrowded. We are doomed.

WillStarr profile image

I think all that is just bluster and nothing more than Obama's impotent response to the reality of a Republican controlled Congress.

Just buy brown shirts and black boots for the IRS, FBI, ATF, FDA, EPA, TSA, NSA, FCC, and other Federal Agencies and we already have a National Police Force. It might save us some money if we just put them all in one big group. Heck, they might even talk to each other once in a while if we did that.

Several months ago I was watching the news of a Tea Party Rally in St. Louis (before Ferguson) and saw the prototype.....

Combine that with the same agency's penchant for buying up ammunition and you have the building blocks of a federal SS

Good Morning Rachael,

I can't accept or believe that this do nothing Congress and Supreme Court have allowed Obama to go as far as he has. He has made it perfectly clear that he will veto everything that comes his way. As far as the possibility of a National Police Force is concerned, if he can make it happen it most certainly will. This type of government control is right up his alley. See you at the Inn.

Good Morning Will,

I hope and pray you are right, because I don't think the American people can take much more from this arrogant obstructionist. See you at the Inn.

Good Morning Mike,

What a brilliant idea, it is cost effective and everyone controlling our every move will be coordinated in wardrobe and purpose. See you at the Inn.

Good Morning Gawth,

That will be the way this National Police Force will happen. It will grow from an already existing part of government, so most people will be completely unaware of its birth until it is too late. Sounds like a very bad Grade B movie to me. See you at the Inn.

The slippery slope to Orwell's nightmare...A national police force would necessarily be undemocratic and beholden to it's political masters, not local citizens...There is nothing in the Constitution granting such powers to a federal government...States would have to be abolished, along with their individual laws, judges, and local police and sheriff departments...Power corrupts, and in this case it also provides for massive incompetence, stupidity, and abuse...

I need a drink, Pop... can you fix me a Moscow Mule..? See you and Harlotte at the Inn...

National Police Force?? All I want you tell me is that this is not so. Please. Every move the man makes is worse than the one before. Just opening his mouth scares me to death anymore.

Sharpton. Lord help us. How can any person with even HALF a brain not recognize that this man is a joke.....a complete clown? WHO actually listens to that moron or takes him seriously?

Can this year just pass by quicker than any year ever? "America Needs a Doctor, Stat!".....and maybe a magician.

breakfastpop profile image

Good Morning fp,

We had better ask for a magician, because doctors are running away from medicine thanks to Obama. As for Sharpton, well the president thinks he is just fine. It just can't get scarier than that! I take that back! it can and probably will get scarier. Meet me at the Inn.
