Do We Need More Firepower? Ask the NRA.

Semi to Full Automatic in 4 Easy Steps

Guns, Guns, Wonderfful Guns. The More We Shoot - The More We (fill in the blanks)....?

Forget about gun control. Why would we even consider something so rational? This is America. We need more, not fewer guns. This is the country of excess and no limitations. It is the responsibility of every citizen to get out of a bullet’s path. If you don’t, you should bear the consequences. More is better. Gun control should never be considered. For our country’s safety, we need more guns not less. WE need guns in schools, churches, theaters, ball games and on every street in America.. These are not the words of a madman, although that might be questioned. These are the feelings of America’s most powerful lobby, the NRA .

Here’s a breakthrough. The NRA would like you all to know that they could conceivably live with the current ban on the sale of fully automatic assault type rifles. If you don't currently own one, forget about buying one, even if you can lay your hands on one at a gun show. There is no need to spend any more of your dollars. Save them and buy more rounds instead. Here's why. Your can make your present semi automatic rifle perform much like the full automatic model the idiot liberals have banned. According to a number of postings on the web, if you have a bit of technical ability or hasve a friend who does, you can easily adapt your present semi automatic rifle into a weapon with fast-fire capabilities with only a few, easy to do modifications. That’s right. You can shoot fast even if you think slow. It's illegal, but you can probably justify it in your own mond.

YouTube has all the instructions available to make your weapom into a truly lethal killing machine. ( See the video). That is what guns are for-- killing and nothing more. Sure, target practice and shooting at the range are fun but the reality is that they prepare you for the real intent, killing. Oops, I don’t mean you because I’m told time and time again that people don't kill people, guns kill people or is it guns don’t kill people, people kill people. I’m confused about who or what does all the killing these days.

Imagine, you can add even more to the already overwhelming numbers of weapons we Americans own, with a few simple modifications. If your rifle is stolen someday, it will be street ready for drive by shootings. by criminals. You can do your part to increase our country’s lead in gun power over the rest of the civilized world from 12,15 even 25 times higher. That is certainly a goal worth striving toward. Why be a wimp about guns? Who wants to be like England, where they only average a wimpy 50 gun homicides every year. It would be unthinkable to have our government take our guns out of our cold dead hands, at least according to Charlton Heston. Is he still alive or was he buried with his rifle in his cold hands? Press on cowboys.Shoot your hearts out.

As typical, virtually everything this person knows about guns he has learned on "youtube." For a much more accurate account of how difficult it is to turn any semi auto firearm into one that is fully auto read my hub on "evil black rifles."

If he is speaking about "bump firing" it is 1) not automatic and still requires one press of the trigger for every round fired and 2) pretty useless... kind of like a screen door on a submarine. Possible... but not practical for any reasonable purpose.

Kramar: I love the satirical bent. Here is a You Tube link showing the effectiveness of the modification you referenced. Jack Burton: I'll let you be the judge. http://youtu.be/tBP2xFsEoso

Good job, voting up, useful, and sharing.

Yeah, because when society is discussing laws that affect the Constitution and tens of millions of law abiding citizens the very last thing you want to introduce into the discussion is a lot of accurate, verifiable information from people who actually know about the subject.

You may not be aware of this "rule"--- because it was made up by know-it-all gun buffs that spend most of their days responding to each Internet criticism of lax gun laws in America-- but any inaccuracy in one's nomenclature regarding gun matters completely invalidates all of one's arguments. It's a fact. Just ask them.

There may only be 50 gun homicides a year in England, but since the guns were banned and turned in, violent crime has more than doubled. When law abiding citizens have their guns taken, only the criminals will have them. Chicago has a gun ban, and also the highest crime rate of any city in the world. What you're doing is typecasting all conservatives as violent redneck psychopaths, which is so liberal of you to do.

Jack replies: Yeah... I've generally found that those who live in fantasy land don't have very valid arguments to begin with. There is considerable difference in calling something a bullet, round or cartridge... and not knowing the basic information about a firearm but wanting to make rules and regulations from ignorance.

This satirically well-written hub has come at the right time and will find a "right" audience (pun intended,) although some may not get the point.Guns in the U.S.A. aren't going anywhere. Banning will be as futile and ineffective as prohibition. Historically speaking there wasn't a drop in alcohol consumption-capitalism is about if you want "it"-"it" will always be available (for the right price.) Gun modification and the "how to" of it is a senseless argument. Any person with previous firearm experience can tell you that skill trumps firing capacity. A good shot can easily preform the task of wounding or killing without a rapid fire weapon in hand. Thanks for a very thought provoking hub.

It is unfortunate that the wild wild west have been won after a few skirmishes with the native tribes. American politicians then decided to turn their guns on foreign "injuns" in order to introduce "democracy" and the American way of life to backwater countries.( Look at the adverse effect to the US economy after encouraging China:) They had some initial success but the body bags started piling up and public outrage finally made a ding on their thick skulls. Or did it?

Oh, there are still some desert holes where big brother is playing the role of policeman, but not in the league of the world wars. So what to do with the oversupply of munitions and keep the daddy Warbucks of Corporate America happy?

With so much testosterone running wild and no foreign war to ship the boys to, why not turn the streets into the wild wild Chicago streets of Al Capone.:)

While the politicians play politics with government spending and the country's economy, maybe citizens should arm themselves. If food riots become a possibility, store owners and home owners should be armed against looters who obviously would be arm. Then we can have ourselves an old fashion shoot out just like in the wild wild west, while the injuns watch.

Kramar, after embarrassing yourself so badly over the "hunting rifles" issue I would think you would want to lay low for a while.

Why aren't people seeing the facts "They aren't going to take away your guns!" Limiting the capacity to purchase firearms without a back-round check has been in place (but not adhered to correctly for a very long time.) Having the capacity to spray bullets into children should be a concern for everyone. Even those operating weapons in the military need back-round checks for certain firearms.

Well, Laura, the new NY law just "took away" about 95 percent of all handguns sold and owned by the people. And least you forget, the laws in chicago and DC that the pro-gun control orgs supported certainly "took away" the guns from the homeowners.

And you really don't understand the background check laws in the country, do you. You really have no clue as to what they require and mandate.

And you don't know that the principal supporter for background checks admitted that it would not have done a thing to stop any of the recent tragedies -- and when asked why he is promoting a useless law he did the only thing he could do... change the subject.

And you don't know much about the military, do you.

Pretty much strike three, four and five.

Come down here to Mexico. Gun ownership is extremely regulated. We are nice and safe.

Hey, kram... how's your search for a good "hunting rifle" coming?

The Dear Readers noticed that YOU were the only one who used the word "stupid." I prefer "ignorant."

You see, I am willing to admit that I am totally ignorant of things such as knitting, but I never feel compelled to get up in front of a bunch of knitters and tell them to stop their hobby because they are using up all the pearls, which are an endangered species.

When you and Laura quit exhibiting your total ignorance about guns laws, guns and the people who own them before the world, then you never, ever have to read one of my comments about your posts.

But I do love the way you consider a desire for the truth to be "nit picking." That tells us far more about you than anything you can post on purpose. :-)

Pepe... good job sucking Kramer in with your satire. He fell right into it without a moment's thought.

Yes, because one argues so well from a position of ignorance. :-)

But I do love the way you consider a desire for honesty, the truth and facts to be an impediment to problem solving. That tells us far more about you than anything you can post on purpose.

Nice, he says we shouldn't be allowed to own firearms and just threatened to come after you with a weapon.

I sure am. I'm right here in San Antonio in the great State of Texas.

Mike, this really is the best that Kramar can do. As you say in Texas, All Hat, No Cattle. As they say in Louisiana, Alligator mouth, Butterfly Arse.

It all amounts to the same, eh.
