Obama Still Firmly Entrenched in Denial

When asked during his 6o minute interview “do you accept the idea that this (the election) was a rejection in any way of your agenda and your policies. Is this a defeat, a reflection on your leadership?” He responded “You know, I think that if you ask people individually, Does it make sense that President Obama gave 95 percent of working families a tax cut? Does it make sense that we make sure children with preexisting conditions can still get health insurance? Do we need to rebuild our roads and our bridges and put people back to work so that we have a 21st Century infrastructure? Was it smart for us to take money that were going to banks in the forms of unwarranted subsidies and use that to increase student loans for millions of young people across the country?" He still doesn’t get it. He is saying in essence; what’s wrong with you people; are you too stupid to realize all the wonderful things I’ve done for you? God how stupid must you really be?

Then he launched into the Republicans as usually is the course for this narcissists. “The Republicans were able to paint my governing philosophy as a classic, traditional, big government liberal. And that's not something that the American people want. I mean, you know, particularly independents in this country. But I think most Democrats and Republicans, they want a government that works, but they want one that's lean; one that's not wasting money; one that is looking after their interests, but isn't engaged in a whole bunch of giveaways.” Who does he think he’s talking to, we were there. How the hell does he think we should have viewed his takeover of General Motors in order to save the Unions, his takeover of 16% of the economy through his Healthcare canard; his attempt to ram Cap and Trade through in order to prop up the Global Warming Myth? These are anything but center right policies

Continuing on with his Boo-Hoo blame those wascally wepublicans he said; “I think the Republicans were successful in creating a picture of the Obama Administration as one that was contrary to those commonsense, Main Street values about the size of government. And so, it I think it is fair to say that, you know, the American people don't want to see some massive expansion of government.” Well Mr. President, to ram Healthcare down the throats of the American people when every conceivable poll showed 68% of the population was against it can only be viewed as a massive expansion of government!

The Republicans were sent a very clear message on Tuesday; the country wants a smaller, less costly, more accountable government. But is that the message Obama received? Absolutely not, he still sees his agenda as being the right way to proceed. The same agenda that led to 10% unemployment and higher taxes looming just around the corner. The same agenda that plays to the unions as the saviors of the country and paints business both big and small as the scourge of the earth. His anti business agenda and rhetoric has further exacerbated the unemployment problem!

When asked are you saying, then, that idea of smaller, less costly, more accountable government was not what you think the voters were saying; Obama responds. “Part of the reason, for example, that I thought it was so important for us to take on health care reform was the single, biggest expansion of government; one that is inevitable if we don't make some serious changes; is on the health care front. He didn’t answer the question; all he did was reaffirm the fact that we the people are just too stupid to realize why he took over health care. You think it was because he wanted to expand government but you’re wrong. He moved to take over the healthcare system because of spiraling cost yet, not that the charade is over and the veil has been lifted every single report indicates his plan will be more expensive and provide less coverage. It also is the single most important factor in why business isn’t hiring people!

He was then asked about losing the people who had helped elect him to which he responds with his classic now you see it now you don’t style; you know the Obama Snake Oil Salesman resurfaces and says; “I think that folks are frustrated with what they've seen over the last two years. I mean, you know, one of the challenges we had was that we'd lost four million jobs in the six months before I was sworn in. We lost 750,000 jobs the month I was sworn in. 600,000 the month after that. 600,000 the month after that. So, what you had was the economy continuing to get worse in the first several months of my Administration, before any of our economic policies had a chance to be put into place. And we saw such a big hole develop, eight million jobs lost, that the actions that we took may have saved or created 3.5 million jobs! He actually believes this shit; and you think he got the message? His policies destroyed this economy and resulted in skyrocketing the unemployment rate to 17%; that is the actual rate when you factor in all those that have given up plus those that are underemployed, and he has the nerve to say he saved or created 3.5 million jobs. This guy isn’t only delusional he’s down right psychotic. He really does think we are a bunch of idiots that will believe anything he reads off the teleprompter!

He goes on to address his so called Recovery Act; yeah, the Recovery Act was big; you know, intervention with the auto companies, even though it will end up costing tax payers much less than anybody thought at the time, was still big. What frigging Recovery Act; this economy has continued down the toilet since this regime took power. The only ones who have faired well has been big labor and food stamp recipients! There has been no recovery as a result of this bogus act!

The plain and simple truth as demonstrated by these snippets from His Majesty’s latest diatrod is he still does not get the message. He never will get the message and the only way to deal with this guy and his Regime is vote it out of power and God Help any Republicans who buy into this latest garble and attempt to compromise with him!

Partisan, there are some very valid points especially on HCR not being popular. However, exit polls showed that the american people still view republicans less favorably than they view democrats. I think the election was a result of a lot 'anti-incumbent' voting. You will also note that many of the more radical TEA party candidates lost, thus giving Dems a slim margin in the Senate. I think the people generally got it right, force the 2 groups to only work on the best ideas that both parties agree on.

most of your other points are exagerated.

Remember this, when Obama took office, the Dow was at 8k, now at 11,500 or so. Unemployement was already at 8% and predicted to possibly return to great depression type of numbers (30%). Unemployement is around 9.6%. We've seen private sector job growth (however small) for 8 consecutive months.

One could make the argument that other policies may have lead to a quicker recovery but you can't make an argument that the president's policies did nothing.

Great hub, and chock full of FACTS that the dems will NEVER be honest enough to accept. I was very proud because I forced myself to watch almost the entire 60 minutes interview, and I did not even puke while doing so!!!

I don’t know of which polls you speak; you referred to exit polls but the last polls taken before the election showed a generic preference of 55% in favor of the Republicans to 40% in favor of the Democrats. I believe those preferences were upheld in the overall repudiation of Democrats in not only the Federal elections but all the way down through the state houses and Governorships. As for your anti incumbent assertion I couldn’t disagree more; the Republicans lost some 4 House seats while the Democrats lost around 64; hardly an anti incumbent message as opposed to an anti Democrat message.

Even though the Dems maintained their slim margin in the senate there was still a record gain there by the Republicans and some seats are still being counted. And as for 2 groups working on the best ideas that both parties agree on; the Democrats have demonstrated over the past 2 years they have no Best Ideas!

Exaggeration; let’s see unemployment has escalated to 9.7%; when you count the underemployed and those given up it is around 17%. Remember Obama proclaimed we had to pass his Keynesian Economic Stimulus or unemployment would soar above 8%. That worked well didn’t it and I ask is that an exaggeration?

The market is now responding to the Republican victory and has been doing so for the past few months leading up to the predicted Republican landslide. This Regime has scared the hell outta the market as well as business both big and small. That 800 lb. gorilla standing in the unemployment line is named fear and that describes business reaction to the Obama Regime; they are scared to death of his anti business policies!

No his policies did something; they almost bankrupted this economy and destroyed the greatest Health Care System the World has ever known; that my friend is what his policies have done!

All I can say is you're a better person than I Charlie Brown; I couldn't watch one second of his interview; in fact when he comes on news clips I have to mute the sound so as not to throw something through my wide screen T.V.

The republicans need to stand firm on the wants on the people. We voted them in to stop the craziness.

We the people need make the congressmen stick to their guns.

There has not been a good law passed within the last few year. The liberals and communist have infiltrated us and need to be stopped. We will not give up our freedom for a 1 world government! Only if the government has our bill of rights and freedoms. We need to tell the rest of the world to stick it.

Partisan, the market has been going strongly upwards since Obama took office. You can't simply say that it is suddenly going up because the stock market thought republicans would win. Pull up a chart of the Dow and you will see it has been climbing for more than 15 months.

The underemployement number again is an exaggeration. It is a gross overestimate according to most credible sources. Besides, I live in Fairfield county which is one of the richest counties in the country. Darien and Greenwich CT had something like 30% 'underemployment' in 2009 due to layoffs in the financial sector. Most of these people were traders and investement bankers making millions per year. I hardly consider them 'unemployed.'

A lot of them are sailing on their yachts and simply taking time off. If you have 20 million net worth and you get layed off, should we really count them as unemployed?

regarding the poll numbers I mentioned, I'm talking about the actual exit polls. 52% held an unfavorable view of Democrats, while 53% had unfavorable views of Republicans. It is an angry electorate, I think it was anti-incumbent, not 'pro-republican.'

For the first time ever, I agree with Republican TEA party candidate Marco Rubio (FL) who said that Republicans should not take this victory as a vote of confidence in republicans.

partisan, one other comment about 'best ideas', don't be so quick to say Dems have none. The Dems had several bills including:

- Banning Earmarks

- Setting Term limits

- Reforming campaign financing to remove the corruption of money in politics.

There was almost no Republican support for these bills but I bet actual Republican 'voters' would support these ideas. The Republican Senate leader Mitch Mcconell said that banning earmarks is not a good idea. I wonder how m any republican voters agree with him?

partisan patriot 6 years ago

The answer is simple; capital is being invested in the market; corporations buying back their own stock; business investing in the market in lieu of expanding; anything instead of hiring people. Business both large and small are scared to death of this Socialists and as such they are forced to invest their profits into the market in order to grow their money instead of doing what they should be doing and used to do with profits; expanding their business. Expanding means you are forced to hire more people; and they will do anything to keep from doing that until the Republicans regain power and once again create an environment in which business can prosper! Check for yourself, the market grew as unemployment increased; the 800 lb. gorilla standing in the unemployment line is named Fear; fear of this Socialists Regime!

Make up any excuse you like to explain away unemployment; if people were not angry and hurting financially why then did the overwhelmingly elect Republicans to the House, give them 6 additional Senate seats so far and turn 38 state houses over to Republicans with the same number of Governorships; in fact Republicans won 680 additional seats throughout this country. Now you can quote any statistics you like in lieu of facing reality; this election was indeed a Repudiation of Barrack Hussein Obama and his Merry Band of Socialists!

Your exit polls don’t make much sense; they are incongruent with the numbers I quoted in the aforementioned paragraph!

As for Banning Earmarks; the King of Pork’s Seat was just recaptured by a Democrat who sounded more like Ronald Regan than Ronald Regan. In fact he won by shooting a hole through a target he had labeled Cap and Trade Bill!

They’ve had both Houses and the Presidency for the past 2 years with Super Majorities and I don’t recall a word about Setting Term limits.

Finally their version of reforming campaign financing is to allow Big Labor unlimited contributions while limiting everyone else to a certain minimum!

Though I am stunned to agree with LRC on any topic, I too believe that eliminating ALL earmarks would be a great baby step in the right direction for our nation. I hope the newbies who were elected JUST to help stop the crazy spending DO vote to eliminate earmarks for ALL!!

I couldn't agree more but I'll never give the party of pork any credit for attempting to do so because they simply haven't!

Thanks sheri, I think that is what is missing from politics. If voters with different views and beliefs can find common ground, why can't our lawmakers? There is overwhelming support from the public to ban earmarks, set term limits, reform campaign financing, etc.

Partisan, I appreciate your comments but it seems we are simply not going to agree on a lot of these points. I will say that the 'uncertainty' execuse is a way for companies to squeeze their employees. Productivity is at very high levels because workers are constantly threatened with the loss of their jobs while at the same time their companies are laying off people and cutting salaries to boost their record profits. Take any big fortune 1000 company. The new HCR law does not have much affect on them because they already offer health insurance. It's not like this will suddenly be a 'new' expense. They also have armies of lobbyist that work with washington bureocrats on these bills. The uncertainty execuse is just a reason to push worker productivity.

Also, companies under 500 employees are exempt from HCR (the majority of US workers are employed at companies with less than 500 people)

partisan patriot 6 years ago

I am with you on banning earmarks; I just don’t give the Party of Pork the credit; Pelosi became speaker of the House and Reid Leader of the Senate in January 2007; no one word my friend from either branches on banning earmarks!

We will never agree but like my new found Liberal Friend Charles James it is nice to finally disagree agreeably. You don’t buy my uncertainty excuse, as you put it but again I ask you to walk up to the 800 lb. Gorilla and ask him his name. The CEO of Caterpillar confirmed my theory just the other day; they are not hiring because of this Regime’s anti business policies.

The dirty little secret behind the Health Care Canard is it will force all businesses to drop their coverage so everyone will be forced to turn to the Government then Obama will have his Single Payer System he so desperately wants. His Health and Human Services Secretary has already begun attacking businesses that are speaking out against the escalating cost associated with the Obamanation known as Obama Care!

If what you say is true; companies with less than 500 people are exempt then why aren’t they hiring. Small business isn’t hiring because they are afraid of Obama Care and the tax increases waiting around the corner!

Great job Patriot. There is no way Dems will ever see the truth or the light. Re-electing Pelosi says it all. Either they really like her (ugh) or she has some very damaging pictures! As for Obama, he is clueless.
