Paid To Conceal?

Something Wrong With This Picture?

The Outrageous Conduct Continues

Now imagine if you will that you are paid by the US tax payers as a high level bureaucrat. Start there. Then imagine that you were the head honcho of the division responsible for granting tax exempt status to organization. Connect those dots. Then factor in that your boss, the head of the Internal Revenue Service, had visited the White House over 100 times since Obama took office. Connect that dot now.

On one of those visits, the day afterward organizations start being targeted by the IRS. We're making a picture which you probably accomplished as a child, but many can't seem to grasp as adults. Liberal adults especially have a problem doing this since they helped elect the most corrupt individual to ever sit in the Oval Office.

People say it isn't fair to compare the scandals swirling around the Obama administration to the Nixon administration. I find that curious since Obama makes Nixon look like a choir boy. The is a reader exchange from the last Hub I wrote concerning just a small part of this. I will include a link at the bottom in case you missed that article.

"brs02 - Comparing this administration to Nixon is really unfair to Nixon.

Ghost32 - brso2: That's a really good point. Maybe we can popularize the phrase, "BEYOND Nixonian", and it'll get some traction....

Wait. This is better: LYBN, "Light Years Beyond Nixon". It gets the point across AND the acronym looks like a dyslexic version of "he's Been Lying", which of course he has, every day."

Ghost32 has a tendency to think on his feet and his mind is still agile and spry. Obama has put Nixon to shame in the corruption and quest for power categories. So back to the dots.

Imagine a top bureaucrat working for the IRS not being good at math. Get a warm fuzzy thinking about that one? She is the very one who was caught on the recording admitting that organization with "Tea" or "Patriot" and who really knows yet what words in their titles were targeted for "extra" scrutiny in their applications. In case you haven't been following the story line religious organizations were also being in the category. Strange that as the story unfolds and people come forward with the questionnaires that they were sent to answer that no one knows anything about anything. Reminds me of Sergeant Schultz.

What does an organizations affiliation with one individual(s) actually named in the questionnaires have to do with their ability to qualify for the status being sought? Or the content of the prayers that were being offered up to God have to do with any of this? If you can't connect those dots I have to put you in the brain dead category.

So back to Lois Lerner. This woman has been making more than House Representatives and US Senators in base salary and bonuses. That should rub anyone wrong in my humble opinion.

The New Sergeant Schultz

Lois is subpoenaed by the House of Representative's Oversight Committee to testify about the irregular targeting of conservative groups. Some of you have been following this but read on. Well, she does show up. She makes an opening statement herself claiming the female "Sergeant Schultz" version proclaiming her innocence. Then she promptly claims the Fifth Amendment privileges against self-incrimination and clams up. Wowser! Who gave her such legal advice or did she just do that on her own? Many a lawyer now is chomping at the bit now to have her held in contempt. You can't offer an affirmative defense, claim the 5th and not be cross examined. We'll let the lawyers sort through that but it's not looking good for Lois.

She goes back to work in a different position for the IRS and the new Acting Director of the IRS asks her to resign. That's the good part because we pay the woman a good salary to be open and honest with the people who pay her. She refuses his request so what does he do? He puts her on paid administrative leave.

Maybe Obama Has A Future As A Brick Mason Or Making Little Rocks Out Of Big Rocks

Your Honor! I object! Does anyone recognize a stone wall when they see it?

And here we are being stone walled time after time by members of the Obama administration like Nixon never would have dreamed up. Obama himself claims to know nothing himself unless he sees it on a news cast. Then we have the Attorney General, another corrupt scoundrel, attempting to stifle free press so what gives there? Now we're going to have Eric Holder investigating Eric Holder but that's an entirely different Hub.

Obama's Chief of Staff and Senior Aides knew about this shenanigans and we're expected to believe that he was never told? Really? That might be plausible but is entirely improbable.

So now we have a senior civil servant who refuses to tell the truth because of self-incrimination? Still connecting those dots American tax payers? For those of you who pay none it probably doesn't matter huh? On top of her stone walling we are paying her richly to do so? What in the world is going on with the corruption that is woven throughout our federal government?

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "IRS Director of Exempt Organizations Lois Lerner was shocked to discover those fabled "low-level employees in Cincinnati" were systematically discriminating against conservative organizations. Seems the woman was signing off on intimidating letters to those very same organizations, nine months after she said she learned of the abusive practices and put a stop to them."

If you haven't woken up yet and connected the dots to get a clear picture, may I suggest you now do so? The last picture below I see coming over the horizon which will complete the cover-up circle and should lead to impeaching a few folks. Richard Nixon rest easy this one has you beat hands down.

Let's just hope that Issa and company have the cahonies to continue to dig in this corrupt rumble for sparks. This is yet another test of the Constitution by this administration. Obama does not believe that there is enough courage on the Congressional side to pursue him into the Oval Office...I hope he is wrong but you know as well as I that he is sitting there with the race card on his desk contemplating the right time to throw it on the table and who best to do it. She says she can't do math, huh? Obviously, she can do enough math to suck up those huge checks. She can do enough math to know when to shut up so she can continue to get paid. She knew enough to target some and not others.

Targeting is the new PC terminology for what has always in the past been called discrimination. More accurately, the head of the IRS under the direction of the man sitting in the White House, implemented a policy of systemic discrimination designed for no purpose other than to weed out undesirables. In this case the undesirables were those with conservative views.

This has happened many times in American history. It was called legalized slavery in the south. It was later called Jim Crow. After that it was zoning laws designed to keep what was considered the undesirable groups at that time separate from other groups. It happened in Germany too and ended in the attempted genocide of the Jewish population, those with physical or mental infirmaries, gypsies and any other group that Hitler wanted to eliminate.

I really don't get it. Some of those who marched in the sixties to fix systemic discrimination are some of the exact same libtards screaming in Learner's defense now.

Here's the PROBLEM - The government instituted systemic discrimination of any group allowed to stand sets the precedent for systemic discrimination against ALL. Look at history! Any time this has happened in any country in any time throughout history it started small with policies, just like this bs, and ended in people laying in pools of blood in the street. Eric Holder's statement that he will "look into if anything illegal was done" (paraphrased) should be the tip off to us all that he's about to try redefining what is and is not legal in terms of targeting. If we look to the actions of this administration, I would bet they planned when this came out and it's not the scandal we all think. At least not in their minds. They will try to use this to redefine law just like they used Obamacare and it ended up being a tax. How much he stressed it was not at its inception, should prove that it was all along! For the last five years we have seen over and over him repeat that pattern. Everyone says he's stupid. He's far from it and he's a long term thinker. He's accomplishing exactly what he set out to do which is to take America down.

Why should this be handled differently than any of the other outrageous crap we have seen.

I'm told the guys responsible for Fast & Furious have been promoted to better jobs.

The guy with ICE responsible for releasing several thousand convicted criminals onto our streets had already announced he was retiring, so why bother to fire him. It seems this one died a quick and quiet death with little interest from the citizens. We were told these were all just harmless people who were caught being in our country illegally, yet later details stated over 600 of those released had criminal records the should have kept them in jail.

So far, nobody has offered to fall on the sword for Bengaze, but I am sure they are looking for a volunteer.

Now we have the IRS scandal. Again, one of the guilty parties had already announced his retirement before this came out. I'm surprised he didn't volunteer to take the blame for everything for a huge golden parachute exit from his office.

To expect us to believe that few if any in the Whitehouse had prior knowledge of what was taking place in the IRS is asking a lot. Sadly we will never ever know the real truth on any of these issues.

Suggesting that Obama has the skills of a stone mason is really an insult to masons.

Only humans suffer from discrimination. That is why the left works so diligently to dehumanize conservatives. Ironically with organizations such as the HRC, who try to bully disinters into silence.

No one can fall on their sword for Benghazi because it counters the administration's premise that there is no story.

Maybe if Congress brings her back in for questioning, it will help if they begin the session by asking her to re-affirm her oath of office.

There could be alot going on here in the background. Pleading the Fifth may not have really come from her lawyer. I.e., the Admin could have told her to shut up or get killed to protect the higher-ups. Personally, I think something similar happened when Chief Justice Roberts cast the swing vote to deny the petition to vacate Obamacare - Hoover/Warren redux.

Stu - You may well be on to something with that comment. An offer she couldn't refuse?

Ghost32 3 years ago

Stu and Mike: An offer she couldn't refuse...hmmm....did they also make a similar offer to Nidal Hasan of Ft. Hood terrorist jihad notoriety? Not being overly conspiracy minded here, just noting that they ARE BOTH still on the government payroll.

Just realized we've been missing one point all along. There is no Benghazi scandal. It's Been Gauzy. They shouldn't be running short of wool, what with all the sheeple begging to be sheared, but it sure seems like they Been pulling the Gauzy over the eyes of those same bleaters.

On Fox News this evening, they did a walkaround, asking people what they knew about Benghazi. One obviously educated fellow was apoplectic, called it "...a bleeping JOKE!" (Meaning the lack of MSM coverage, not the 4 dead Americans.) But the rest of the people they street-interviewed had NEVER HEARD OF BENGHAZI.

First they came for the people who could read....

Interesting followup question: Why did she drink the cool-aid?

Like I said earlier, we will never, ever, know the truth. These coverups go so deep we can only imagine what she was told. It is just strange that while she took the time to deny any responsibility, or law breaking, she would not point at those who issued the orders and did break the law.

Stu 3 years ago

OP and Ghost,

I'm not making any firm accusations here, as I have no evidence. But Lerner had to know that there were alot more people involved than a subset of low level operatives in Cincinnati where the operation ostensibly originated at a ground level. Over 300 lawsuits have been filed already by groups who improperly suffered extreme delays in getting their 501(c)(3) status approved (if they ever got approved at all), and these abuses now are connected to over half a dozen different IRS offices around the country. You don't go from offering testimony to pleading the Fifth unless someone advises you to. In Lerner's case it was her lawyer, at least according to her. But the big questions are (1) who is her lawyer REALLY working for - Lerner or the Admin, and (2) did some goon from the Admin pay her visit and explain the "facts of life?"

Cannot believe, Jim, that the taxpayers are still paying Ms. Lerner her large salary while she is on PAID administrative leave. The woman has admitted her culpability in the 'IRS scandal.' Why does she still have a job?

The Frog Prince profile image

drbj - The reason may be two-fold. The first is to try to ensure her silence. The second may center around how hard it is to fire a federal bureaucrat. It seems that Schulman, it is being revealed, visited the White House 157 times since Obama has been in office. Strange? Lets get down to the truth now.

Frog,

You say "Breaking news is that this is unfolding coast to coast." I knew about this issue as early as 1Q11, and now it comes out that the scandal actually started in 2010. Anyone who is just finding out about this is getting their news from the MSM, not real news like WND, Washington Times, etc.
