The Why and What of PAWRS

When the Plant and Waste Recycling Team first came together in June 2008 to consider the structure for PAWRS 2009 little did any of us imagine what was going to occur both economically and climatically.

We think it is fair to say that over the last 4 years there have been many world changing and world shaking climate events around the globe and whether you think it is Climate Change or not and whether it is caused in some way by man it is for sure awe inspiring and frightening when you see the power of nature.

Now PAWRS 2012 on 12th/13th/14th June 2012 in beautiful Paignton, Torbay, on the English Riviera, is looking forward to a wonderful period of networking with the movers and shakers of the plant and waste recycling world, be they from private enterprise or local authorities.

These are the people who can truly add strength to the concepts of reduce, reuse and recycle and they will all gather on the English Riviera to add their weight to the fact that humanity must change the way it treats all resources, be they natural or manufactured and how to reduce carbon emissions as well.

It is with great pleasure PAWRS will be welcoming back all our loyal friends and exhibitors from PAWRS 2009, PAWRS 2010 and PAWRS 2011 as well as welcoming new friends and exhibitors to PAWRS 2012 at the best outside venue for the plant and waste recycling industry in the UK and Europe.

The waste management industry is evolving and new regulations introduced to reduce the amount of waste we all send to landfill has presented the industry with a host of exciting new challenges that the Government, public sector and private industry must now embrace and ensure are complied with.

Each year in the UK we generate approximately 100 million tonnes of waste from households, commerce and industry. With landfill tax rising and rising and further increases on the horizon it is apparent that the Government must now seek alternative methods to meet the strict European Union landfill diversion targets.

The recycling and waste management is truly at it's strongest where cross sector working partnerships and relationships enable many special and innovative projects to realise their full potential, and by this connectivity and the wisdom of crowds, head towards that ultimate target of Zero Waste.

This is the prime reason PAWRS dedicated time and resources to holding an awards ceremony that brings those within the industry, be they private sector or local authority, closer together.

At PAWRS 2012 you will be meeting the people and seeing the technologies, vehicles, plant and equipment that will change the world in waste reduction, re-use, recycling and turning waste to energy as a resource for the future.

This is one of the prime reasons for both Exhibitors and Visitors to come to PAWRS 2012 at Paignton, Torbay, Devon on the fabulous English Riviera.

Exhibitors can now book on line at www.pawrs.com to secure their stand and all the necessary Manuals, Passes and Health and Safety forms and orders for electrics and furniture are also online.

Visitors register on line also or they can come along and register on the day and it is FREE for all visitors.

We now have a new concept with our Inside/Outside Stands which give the best of both worlds when one considers the venue is in the most beautiful setting and with good weather it is magnificent.

However should it be too hot or become wet then the Inside/Outside stand is just the answer as with the Inside Stand the Exhibitor gets the same area Outside for FREE so can be out in the sun or inside should it rain.

Paignton is without doubt a great venue for an outside exhibition, with many local attractions and inexpensive accommodation. PAWRS is a true networking event, both before; during and after the show as it allows everyone to gain that strong personal contact that can lead to many deals being struck.

With Hotel and Bed and Breakfast accommodation starting from £25 per night and with adequate parking and all the attractions and local restaurants it is the ideal Show to bring the family to and thus mix business with pleasure at the same time.

In conjunction with the Show PAWRS are proud to welcome back the South West Waste Recycling Forum for their Annual Conference in the Redcliffe Hotel, Paignton and the Local Authority Officers from that Conference will be our VIP guests at the Show as will all Local Authority Officers from whichever part of the UK and Ireland they come from.

There will be a VIP Suite for all Exhibitors and Local Authority Officers to have a break, quiet drink and to network with friends, colleagues and customers and this is alongside main registration.
