The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword

Bored and Angry

Good Morning Breakfastpoppers. Today is Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Congressman Steve Stockman (R-Texas) walked out on the SOTU speech early. He just couldn't take one more minute of hearing how President Obama was going to further abuse his Constitutional powers. Frankly, I walked out to. Fortunately, our friend, Chiquita Cicada had the strength to sit through it. She is here with us today to share her impressions of the speech.

Thank you for taking time out for me. As you know, I can't vote, although I would like too. I can't write to Congress, but I would like to. If I could I would implore the House of Representatives to pass a resolution that would void all presidential acts that are unconstitutional. They are going to have to do something because your President made it quite clear last night that he intends to "change" things and get things done without Congress. He no longer needs Congress to pass laws. He intends to charge through your nation with his mighty pen and right all the wrongs that are a figment of his own imagination and philosophy.

The Ninja President

The Presidential Sword

President Obama stood before America last night and made a lot of statements that, when fact checked, simply weren't true. Basically, he said that although economic growth has never been higher, average wages haven't moved and inequality has deepened. A group of economists led by Harvard's Raj Chetty released findings just last week that demonstrated, quite clearly, that your country isn't any less socially mobile than it was in the 1970's. The problem is quite clear to this bug. Your President learned early on that lying is perfectly acceptable. Somewhere along the way, perhaps at the knee of his socialist and communist mentors, he mastered the technique of getting things done by any means possible, constitutional or not. If you want to prove a point say what is necessary and the truth be damned. It is high time that the American people get together and tell this President that they will no longer sit idly by and be manipulated and lied to on a daily basis. The main stream media is, of course, complicit in this endeavor. I am sorry to tell you that, like your President, you may have to act alone, because your elected officials appear to be unwilling to act on your behalf.

The SOTU Speech

Did you watch the speech, and if so, what was your reaction?

  • I cringed avery time President Obama talked about his willingness to "act alone."
  • I thought the speech was realistic and I am happy the president will act without Congress
See results without voting

The People's Pen

Source

Let me remind you that you have a pen, too. You can use it to remind Congress that you will not accept their reluctance to stop this President from trashing your beloved Constitution. You pay their salaries and they work for you. Tell them what you want and what you expect and then use the best weapon in your arsenal to keep your great nation free.

Your Voice

Your vote is your voice. Your vote is powerful. Your vote is precious. Use it wisely and change the downward direction of your great nation.

Good afternoon Chiquita. Unfortunately, our incumbent elected representatives have only one thought in their minds, and that is how to keep their cushy jobs for another do-nothing term in office.

One would think they really care about what is happening to this country, but that is far from reality. Every move they make and the way they vote on anything is done with the main concern of keeping their jobs. With their currently low performance rating, one would think they would be showing the voters they really do care about us, but apparently this has not occurred to them yet. I would like to see most every one of them replaced at the end of their current terms.

Thanks for staying with this and enduring the entire speech most of us could not even stand to watch on TV.

Dear Mike,

Trust me when I say that watching the speech was a horrible experience. Between Obama's lies and Biden's jokes I wanted to toss my cookies. Maybe I will vote next time around. If Dems can vote 4 or 5 times why can't a Cicada vote once? See you at the Inn tonight. I'd like to talk some more. I'll save you a seat, but please try not to sit on me!

Regards,

Chiquita

Dear billybuc,

Trust me, your time was well spent! See you at the Inn where sane people gather to eat organic food and enjoy a glass of wine!

I hope that after Stockman walked out he went to his office to investigate how to start impeachment proceedings. Chiquita, come to the inn tonight and make some noise.

POP: I write to my Congressmen all the time, but although it is frustrating I will continue to do so. YOu have a point that we should let them know that they work for us. I want Obama to follow the laws set forth in our constitution. Why are the Republicans just sitting there and doing nothing? Again you know what you are talking about, because all they want to do is stay in office. they will rememberus when it is election time again. Our Country is sickening. I'm off to the bar.... save me a seat.....

Dear taxlarry,

I hope the same thing. What will it take for Congress to wake up and smell the disaster that is this administration? I'll see you at the Inn, taxlarry. Please don't step on me.

Dear Pino,

I would love to throw them all out and start over. This administration and this revolting Congress are not only wasting our time, but they are watching all we stand for go to dust. See you at the Inn. Chiquita will be there dressed in a snow suit. It's freezing!

Pop and Chiquita,

I agree with taxlarry on impeachment. The Constitution doesn't specify what high crimes and misdemeanors a president must commit for impeachment but ignoring the founding document works for me.

Impeachment would not change things. Even if charges are brought by the House (unlikely), the Senate tries all impeachments. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presides. A two-thirds majority is required to convict.

Under our New Way of Governance (popularly called New World Order) the Senate represents first for party, and only incidentally for our States. The Senate is predominately Democrat Party representatives. The Democrats echo the Presidents stance that the Republican controlled House is the source of the problems. Under these conditions impeachment serves no purpose other than to reinforce to the American people that we are now governed at the federal level under a fully partisan system.

When the president speaks, fewer and fewer listen.

About the only way to enjoy his eloquent teleprompter readings are if you, in one way or another, sucking nourishment from the sagging governmental teat.

Good Morning Tom,

I believe there are plenty of grounds for impeachment. I also would like to impeach the voters who thought putting him in office was a great idea! See you at the Inn. Dress warm, it's freezing here.

Good Morning FitnezzJim,

A chill of pure fear runs down my spine when I hear or see the words NEW WORLD ORDER. I have to say that impeachment seems like a great dream, but a person can dream or has that been banned by executive order? See you at the Inn. The Constitution still works there.

Good Morning Gawth,

,

I agree, his audience must be heavily weighted to the people who are excited to find out what new free things are coming their way. It must be akin to watching Queen for a Day. see you at the Inn where we have to pay for what we need or want.

I keep having to buy ink I've been using so much. The cowards of Congress need to be replaced this November. I couldn't take the sound of his voice anymore but what I wrote that morning is pretty much what I understand he rehashed for the 5th time.

When the big event of the night was applauding a badly wounded soldier (for which Obama was criticized because he was obviously being used as a prop!), we know how desperate this charlatan of a president has become.

Hopefully, America will now realize that a flashy candidate is not necessarily a good candidate and demand that the media delve into future candidates honestly and let We, the People know who and what they really are.

Good Afternoon Frog Prince,

I'll admit being forced to listen to him feels like torture. Congress is no better, although I just read that they are thinking of putting the brakes on his use of the pen! We'll see. I'll be at the Inn on the early side.

Dear Will,

Emphasis on the word 'hopefully". I doubt the MSM will ever wake up. Let's hope that a majority of the American people do. See you at the Inn.

Hi Breakfastpops, as I told The Frog Prince...Lover Man and I did NOT watch the Obama Show...better known as "the State of the Union Address"...It's more of the same old same old...and people in our Country are SUFFERING between NO JOBS and Obama Care. And I will also add, the Republican Party should be ashamed of it's self...I'm ready to leave them as well.

You are always a Good Hub read dear friend.

Breakfastpop, I didn't even bother trying to listen to President Knucklehead's speech. It's pointless. When you see his mouth move he's lying. There's nothing more to be said.

Good Morning Cassie,

You did the right thing. Listening to him is bad for your health. On the other hand, meeting at the Inn is very healthy! See you there.

Hello Pop,

I couldn't bring myself to watch! With the current state of healthcare, I certainly don't need to raise my blood pressure any further. See you at the Inn.

Cat :)

Dear Cat,

You are very wise to have decided to skip the speech. First of all it certainly would have been bad for your health and second of all your policy wouldn't have covered it ! Come to the Inn where life is still good...

I didn't watch the broadcast, it was too much for me to handle. I've heard it all before. Nothing to bank on. :)

Good Morning b.Malin,

I am so sorry I missed your comment. Please forgive me. You and Lover Man saved yourself from an evening of lies, lies and more lies. I am just as disgusted as you. Both parties should pack up and leave town. I'll be at the Inn. It's snowing again, so be happy you are in sunny Florida!
