President Barack Obama Is On A Bus Tour Campaign

8/17/11,President Barack Obama is on a bus tour campaign to 3 Midwest states, it was announced as an official Whitehouse event rather than a campaign swing. It was apparent that the bus tour is definitely a start of his 2012 campaign to retain the presidency only because of his remarks and statements made toward Republican members of Congress and the Republican Presidential candidates.

President Obama’s first stop on the bus tour was Cannon Falls, Minnesota. The President spoke of the economy and criticized Congress for not working together in approving important legislation that would stimulate the job market and the economy. Explaining to the audience that conditions in the world were beyond his control and that the turmoil did have an impact on the growth of the US economy. The Japanese earthquakes, the Arab spring, troubles in Europe and other activates in the middle east have created problems that caused rising oil prices at home.

The President remarked that he was frustrated with Washington, Congress’s inability to work together in solving the country’s problems. The President also complained that members of Congress were playing political games creating more uncertainty in putting people back to work. He remarked that the recent debt talks in Congress damaged the economy. The President said that Congress needs to act and pass some bills that would put people back to work rebuilding America right now.

President Barrack Obama went on to point out the four things he says Congress can pass now to create jobs "immediately," if only lawmakers would act on infrastructure investments, patent reform, free trade deals and a payroll tax cut extension. It should be clarified by the President when he claims that Congress is not doing the job, one should note that ‘’ Congress’’ is made up of the House of Representatives, lead by Speaker Boehner,2011- present ( Republican majority controlled ) and the Senate lead by Majority Leader Senator Reid ,2007-present (Democrat majority controlled ). Prior to 2011, the House was majority controlled by the Democrats,2007-2010. The President is being disingenuous for not pointing out as to which of the two parties are causing his frustrations of Congress. He only has referred to the Republicans and not once in his speeches has he ever criticized his own party ( Democrats ).

It is a fact that the Democratic party has been in 2/3 s control of the US Government since 2007- present and for the first 2+ years of the Obama administration, they have had 100% control of the government. The President has been blowing a lot of hot air about the inability of Congress to work for solutions to the economy recently.

Looking back to Jan.2009.he also once remarked ‘’ Congress needs to act , do what’s right for the country’’ , ‘’ government needs to live within it’s means’’ and government programs that don’t work need to cut funding’’. The newly appointed super committee needs to find $1.1 trillion in cuts before thanksgiving as per the recent law to raise the national debt limits.

If Obama means what he says, the committee should be able to find at least $4 trillion in government waste as pointed out by Senator Coburn of Oklahoma. See the Coburn report:

The Senator Coburn Report July 21, 2011

DEFICIT WASTE IN the US GOVERNMENT see video

Back in the Black, the SOLUTION

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tVJ2gqqKWs

President Obama made a statement that speaker Boehner walked out of a deal to cut spending $4 trillion in 10 years. That was a half true statement but true in part of getting the whole story. Boehner said that he walked out of the meeting because the President wanted to add another $400 billion in new taxes to an already agreed amount. The President only told one side of the story, sad to Say. The President also neglected to say that he was a partner in the debt negotiations from day one. Speaker Boehner spoke to the President back in Feb. shortly after becoming the new speaker. Most of the negotiations were behind closed doors, something that the President promised that would not happen in his administration ( one of the many 2008 campaign promises ). History has a way to show up in the present when the truth is needed.

The President continued to tell the audience of what he inherited from the past administration and again mentioned the other party’s ( Republicans ) actions to stop legislation important to a recovery. The $787 billion stimulus package ( now $1 trillion )has saved the economy from the great recession. ‘’My administration has created 70,000 jobs in the private sector‘’. A news commentator remarked that 7 million jobs would bring the country out of the recession, far from 70,000 the President took credit for. One must remember that unemployment in Cannon Falls is only 6.9% while the national unemployment is 9.1%.

The US Government since 2007- present has been controlled by the Democrat party members. Somehow to continue to blame the other party (Republicans ) for all the problems in the nation is utterly ridiculous. The mainstream media appears to be on vacation or on a sabbatical. Propaganda in our nation has been taken over by the media, the press and at times by our government. The truth was news at one time, today the truth seems to have many meanings for various subjects. President made some wonderful sounding statements to the crowd. Sounding more like a campaign speech??

"What is needed is action on the part of Congress. A willingness to put the partisan games aside and say, 'We're going to do what's right for the country, not what we think is going to score some political points for the next election." After taking a few questions from the audience, President Barack Obama said ‘’ I will fight for our country with your help’ and ‘’there is nothing we can’t solve if we put country over party’’.

Before leaving and finishing the President said , "And over the coming weeks, I'll put forward more proposals to help our businesses hire and create jobs, and won't stop until every American who wants a job can find one," said the President, without detailing specifics on what might be forthcoming. "We've still got a long way to go to get to where we need to be. We didn't get into this mess overnight, and it's going to take time to get out of it," the President told the country , all but pleading for people to stick with him.

The 2012 Presidential campaign has started!

Great hub Jon. All points right on target. You did leave out one thing. Obama walked out of the negotiations once too. Media blames Boehnor for doing it, but when Obama did it he needed a break because the tea party was frustratiing him. Truth is he walked out because he could not get his tax increases he wanted.

Up and awesome

I find it interesting the President spends and spends our money, but when it comes to his reelection campaign, he won't spend his own. Nope - we have to pay for that, too. As for the so-called super committee, it won't work, and our military will pay the price. I'd bet on it.

Congress returns in Sept, the 2012 budget must be the first order of the day. Will Obama and the Senate try to circumvent PAY-GO LAW ???

Very well written and great points! When I did the research earlier on his bus tour for an article I was amazed that he was giving a speech saying he wants to see made in america on things but was traveling via a 1.1 million dollar bus WE bought from canada....hypocrisy I say....

Today,Aug.31,2011 President Obama spoke in the rose garden regarding a Jobs Bill that he will release in Sept. As usual, no questions were taken from the audience. Although he didn't mention that later in the day he was planning to speak to a joint session of Congress on Sept.7,2011 at 8:00 PM. His administration released a press notice some 15 minutes after the announcement on the cable news channels. Later in the day Speaker Boehner sent President Obama a letter requesting him to change the date to Sept.8,2011. The Speaker of the House was not notified of the President's request prior to the announcement. Another sad event by the President.

Simply put ,it appears that Obama’s actions are just the opposite of calling for civility and cooperation of the parties.

NOTE that Sept.7th at 8:00pm is the Republican party's Presidential debate that was scheduled many months ago.

Who is looking for political points? The Obama campaign getting ready for the campaign.

MAYBE 2 DAYS OF ENLIGHTMENT?

I reported ''Today,Aug.31,2011 President Obama spoke in the rose garden regarding a Jobs Bill that he will release in Sept. As usual, no questions were taken from the audience''.

Here's An Update

Today, 9/12/11 at a brief press conference ( no questions allowed ) in the rose garden, President Obama produced an UNBOUND copy of the American Jobs Bill held together with a large paper clip ( what a joke ).The bill was on it’s way to Congress today, not prior to his speech to Congress on last Thurs. President Obama announced that he would take his plan to the people and urged the people to call their representatives to ‘’ pass the bill’’. That’s called Obama campaign style propaganda.

Just another Hollywood production for all to see how Congress needs to take immediate action on passing HIS BILL.

SOMEHOW PRESIDENT OBAMA FORGETS PAY-GO LAW and the recent agreement he signed into law , THE NATIONAL DEBT BILL.

In another week he will present more information about the bill that he wants Congress to approve, another bigger joke. Stayed tuned!

WAIT UNTIL THE BILL IS SCORED BY THE CBO before you understand the President's plan is the same one he presented on Dec. 4, 2009 and May 13, 2010. Stimulus 1 failed to produce jobs. Jan 2009 unemployment was 7.8%, today it is 9.1%. On last Thurs the President urged Congress to approve his AMERICAN JOBS PLAN

Jon,

The unbound was a total joke. See how thick it was? Whitehouse released it on the internet. It was 3 pages longand when you read it, there are several contridictions from his speech

Thank you all for your comments.

President Obama calls the payroll cuts a tax cut, true but not the WHOLE TRUTH. Think About It,

Obama wants to continue the pay roll tax deduction FOR WORKING TAXPAYERS. THE UNEMPLOYED DON'T GET a tax break. Also note what really is happening. The US Treasury is taking money FROM the General Fund and transferring funds to the Social Security Trust Funds to make up for the tax cuts for working citizens. Result is that WE the tax payers are indirectly paying for the tax breaks

NOTE that the cuts are short term as all of the tax credits and breaks are in the Obama plan. The Democrats in Congress have been told by the President that the American Jobs Bill in its present form must be passed as presented by the administration. Members were on the floor last night ( shown on C-Span ) making speeches as to the need for passing the bill.

The truth is that the process is a circle in the same building. The worker keeps a portion of the payroll tax money, the treasury borrows an equivalent amount to put into the trust fund and the workers on unemployment, if Obama gets the unemployment benefits approved gets a check from the government. All coming from increasing the deficit unless the super committee can find cuts to cover the expense.

On Thurs the President said ‘’this is the bill that Congress needs to pass’’, ‘’ no games, no politics no delays’’.

Joh- Wow! Seems like ignorance is the presidents best ally. One distortion after another, he's insulting the intelligence of his listeners. I guess he believes there won't be any significant accountibility from the press and for the most part he's right.-Regards WBA

AN UPDATE 4/28/12

The President complains about Congress holding up jobs bills, always referring to the House Republicans. Never once does he mention Senator Reid leader of the Democrat Senate who is a part of Congress.President Obama needs to tell the whole truth about who is holding up legislation.

Check this link out!

House passed 27 Jobs bills and have sent them to the Senate for LEGISLATION action .

What’s the hold-up, Obama or Reid?

Today 12/22/12 '' the fiscal cliff'' is a crisis to happen. The President and the Democrat Congress are on Christmas break. The news media continues to cover up the true facts and distort the truth. My recent post to another hub.

An AP article dated 12/21/12 by David Espo , ‘’Obama ‘’sounds ‘ cliff’ alarm ‘’was another distortion of recent events in Congress and the House. I viewed the Obama press conference on Fox News ( UNCUT). Just another OBAMA press conference with no questions allowed. From the article, Obama said that he spoke with House Speaker Boehner- architect of the failed House bill- and meeting with majority leader Harry Reid. Reid was a no show at the podium.

The true fact is that the House has already passed a bill to solve the ‘’cliff ‘’ crisis. What happened on Thurs was that Boehner plan ‘B’ was rejected by Republican members. The press reported a defeat for Boehner, when in fact democracy prevailed. The House has voted and passed a bill. The Senate leadership refuses to put the House bill on the floor for debate, amend or vote/pass, ‘’CENSORSHIP’’. The President continues to blame Congress when in fact, it’s the Senate who have yet to advance the House bill. The media continues to assist the President’s distortions, depriving the public of the TRUTH.

THE HOUSE BILL, makes the rich pay more taxes by taking away certain write offs. The rich will pay more as the President wants. Raising taxes on anyone should follow the Pay-Go law that a majority Democrat Congress and a Democrat President pushed thru in 2010. With the Nov 2010 elections coming up , the Democrats looked like heroes. The only problem today is that they refuse to follow the law.

For now, the ball is in the Senate. The President can show leadership if he orders Harr y to go forward and allow ALL Senators their say and vote .The people should demand open, transparent government as Obama promised in 2008 and during his first term-C-SPAN all the way!

Excuse the long post.

An AP article dated 12/21/12 by David Espo , ‘’Obama ‘’sounds ‘ cliff’ alarm ‘’was another distortion of

http://www.scpr.org/blogs/news/2012/12/21/11686/li...

Nothing seems to have changed, the Republicans are still being blamed for the nation's problems.
