My Way or the Highway!

Good Morning Breakfastpoppers. Today is Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Our friend, Chiquita Cicada, has joined me this morning for breakfast. She wanted to discuss President Obama and his seemingly strong belief that he is a majority of one when it comes to legislation. Please come on over to my place and join in the conversation. I will be serving French Toast and martinis.

Hello, my adored human family. I started adding up all the changes that President Obama has made to the Unaffordable Care Act. Thus far he has changed the law an astounding 24 times, and he did so without Congress and you. The latest change was the President's decision to delay Obamacare's employer mandate. His excuse, as always, is that Republicans refuse to cooperate and so he will bypass the entire process that keeps our country from becoming a dictatorship. Just like dictatorships all over the world, he will act alone and the people must obey. I can only surmise that he really prefers this method of governing. It is less complicated, less democratic, unconstitutional used in the way he uses it, and expedient. It works for the President, but it does not work for you.

He Has All He Needs...

What About The Constitution?

It is quite clear to this bug that when Congress objects to President Obama's policies, the President just dismisses their objections ( and yours by extension) and moves on. The restraints inherent in the Constitution are not a deterrent to the "man who is now King." When laws are inconvenient to this Administration, they are unilaterally ignored. Literally, the present and future of your nation are in one man's hands, and that my dear friends is a very frightening reality. This laissez-faire attitude has been extended to and adopted by the EPA. Gina McCarthy is the administrator of the EPA. She recently spoke to a group of scientists asking them to help advance President Barack Obama's agenda on climate change. She told the group that she needed them to stand up together and move forward to meet the needs of the President. Once again, President Obama has made it clear that he will not be held hostage by opposition to his views in Congress or anywhere else. He has given the EPA massive powers to do as they wish on his behalf, not yours. Congress, the Constitution and you have been written out of the equation. You simply do not exist in President Obama's world if you disagree with his vision for America. If you are not scared now, you should be. Rule by Executive Orders has been used by other Presidents. The purpose was usually to help the government function poperly. The goal was never meant to tie the hands of government and place all the power in the Executive Branch. The Constitution exists for a reason. It is neither out-dated or irrelevant. I respectfully suggest that all three branches of government be required to read it again. I say "again" in the hope that they may have read it at least once. I say it, but I don't believe it. If Congress doesn't read bills before they pass them, they surely wouldn't be interested in reading the Constitution.

Impeachments Held Here

Source

It Couldn't Hurt To Try...

Impeachment in your nation is in the hands of the legislature. Congress can level charges against a civil officer in government for crimes committed in office. Normally the lower house of the legislature will impeach the official and the upper house will conduct the trial. The removal from office is automatic upon conviction in the Senate. Needless to say, impeachment proceedings can be brought against President Obama, but in the end he will remain in power 'going it alone" until his last days in the White House. Bringing impeachment charges would accomplish one thing. It would express the utter disgust of so many citizens when they watch their rights being trampled every day by an administration that feels quite certain they can do anything they want. The effort will fail to remove President Obama, but at least future generations will know that there were many, many citizens who were extremely concerned about the trashing of the Constitution and the silencing of the people.

Freedom of the Press Plunges

If there are people out there who are not phased by the way things are going in the nation, just think about this for a minute. Your nation's rating on freedom of the press and government transparency is at an all time low. Under President Obama the United States has dropped to 46th in the 2014 World Press Freedom Index. Remember when President Obama promised to run a totally transparent administration? Well, I suggest you remember those words and weep for your country.

I'm Chiquita Cicada

And I'm here to say

Take care of your nation

Or it will fade away...
