Racism Against African Americans On The Rise Again.

In the last few years , according to statistics, racism as well as hate crimes against African Americans has been increasing throughout the United States since 2009. A hate crime is a criminal act in which a person chooses the victim based on the victim's race, religion, place of national origin, sexual orientation, disability, or gender. This hub will focus on race, but the next hub will focus on disability.

What is interesting, is that a large majority of people deny they are racist. Dr. David J. Leonard has written many articles on racism. In one of those articles a number of White Americans about what they believed about racism. Here are some of the results of his questions.

Question: Why are there racial inequalities?

Answer: Racial inequalities would "disappear" if only Blacks would "try harder" this answer was chosen by 65% of the people who were given this question.

Question: Picture a drug user in your head.

Answer: A Black man. This answer was written by 95% of all the White people in this test!

In reality the numbers are completely different. Also, African Americans are much more likely to go to jail for committing the same crime as a White American.

The United States Still has groups such as the Ku Klux Klan, Skin Heads, and since Barack Obama became President, the number of groups like these has risen. In 2008 there were 148 White Supremacy groups in the United States, in 2011 those numbers had risen to 1,274. How much hate do we have in this world?

Another question is, who is being racist now? Why are the Republicans trying to change the voting times in urban areas mostly inhabited by African Americans? Doug Preisse, Republican Party Chairman of Franklin County, which is in the State Capital Columbus, Ohio. The comment he made was in the Columbus Dispatch " I guess I really, actually feel we shouldn't contort the voting to the urban -Read African American-voter turn out machine". Does he think African Americans cannot read?

When it comes to racism, it seems to be alive and well, and on the rise. That is bad, really bad.

Well done but sad hub!

The blame lies with the economy! People seem to need scapegoat to let their frustrations out on and those who are low on the economic scale also need to feel above someone else. If you ever studies Pre world war II Germany you might see some major and scary parallels. I think the Internet has also increased the ability for haters to flourish because they can hide behind their screens much like they hid or hide behind a white sheet. Having a black President at this time makes him the perfect target for their vehemence. Lets blame him for not fixing a problem that was years in the making overnight and ignore the fact that since he was elected the Right has done nothing to help improve the situation. Now they have the solutions, I guess their brains were shut of in the previous 3 years. Not sure where the answer lies but something has to give before we wind up like the Middle East and Americans actually experience what war is like up close and personal,

Justsilvie I agree with you, remember when Bush was President and all the anger was directed towards him? It was horrible in Germany before WWII but even worse after Hitler became the ruler. You are correct about the Right. They have done nothing. No votes, all they have done, is sit. The GOP just sat and stared at nothing. I hope we do not end up like the Middle East, I hope and pray.

Racism has always been here in all its insidious forms. It has been either been overt or covert. Of course, since Barack Obama became president, there has been an increase in white supremacist groups. These groups blame Blacks and Latinos for their socioeconomic ills. There is even an increase in hate crimes against Blacks and Latinos. Such scapegoating has reached a crescendo. One must be ever so vigilant and aware.

I don't see that having a black president proves anything unless it would be the opposite. Who would have ever dreamed we would have a black president and I sure voted for him but he had his chance and I would never vote for him again and I do hate to see the race card brought into this because I prove to turn against Obama is not racist. Now I did not know the country was as bad as ever and I hate to hear that if it is true. I witness blacks and whites working alongside each other and friends and mingled families and surely it has to have improved. I am witnessing nothing you speak of in my surroundings. There of course will always be some sort of supremacists out there against anyone not just like them but I just think that even Hubpages proves we have come a long way. This world will never be perfect but I would never believe we have not come a long way here in America.

Justsilvie 4 years ago

Pollyannalana, I am like you I don't see it around me in everyday life and I actually started looking for some signs but I do see it on the local news. The KKK is alive and growing here in Alabama again.

As quoted from above In 2008 there were 148 White Supremacy groups in the United States, in 2011 those numbers had risen to 1,274. You really don't think having a Black President influenced these numbers?

The average person who is disenchanted might grumble and vote for someone else the next round...

The crazies are talking about civil war and killing people.

I don't know what is going on in ohio but here in Florida there are many cultures, I work with people of all color, race, and national origin. We all get along. Every place I go I see interracial couples of both black and white and other races. There are just as many whites being killed here as blacks and hispanics. I think people are not racist but are morally challanged. They have no value for human life or live by ethical conduct. I can go in the ghetto as well as the rich sections and no one is going to say a word to each other unless someone starts first. There are just as many hispanic and black gangs in America as there are white supremist. I don't care what one man writes. Any person can be anything they want if they want to do it. I have seen people accomplish many things in my life of all races. This nonsense that racism is a color thing is ridiculous. No one cares about human life anymore, not the color of ones skin. I see police here stop just as many white people as blacks. Our jails have almost as many white people as blacks. America is not racist is has become uncivilized.

African Americans are 5 times more likely to be pulled over by the police for no reason, except that they are black.

Almost 1 in 10 of black men are in prison, while black women are 7 times more likely to be in prison then white women.

African Americans are 5 times more likely to be pulled over by the police for no reason, except that they are black.

This is going on all over the United States.

There is a lot of evidence, when it comes to racism all you need to do is open your eyes.

Michele, yes, this is a sad truth, but as billybuc has stated that it really never has gone away, just more covert. I am glad I was not here in Alabama back in the 60's when all of that was ongoing. But good did come out of evil and it has been changed drastically here, but of course, it is still here, and around the whole world. Well justsilvie if it is not on yahoo then I don't see it because I don't watch the news so I will have to look into that. I am just thankful I don't see it. I do not ignore anything, that is why black or white I look at the person and what they do or don't do. Everyone here that knows me knows I voted for Obama and that I was soon sorry and of course it had nothing to do with color. That would be beyond imagination that you like someone and then you turn against them because they are black. I wasn't blind when I voted. I don't understand even the accusation.

I agree with Faith about the hate. You can't love and hate. God taught us to recognize sin and those who sin against Him but any real Christian knows to not hate. We pray for them and want their souls saved no matter how misguided they are.

I'm going to address my response to this hub from a black perspective. One of the more common misperceptions among some blacks is the belief that America is hopelessly racist. Fortunately, this belief just isn't true. While it is true that there will always be pockets of racism emanating from *all* racial groups, the kind of white racism directed at blacks during the pre-civil rights era, simply does not exist today. Our laws have dramatically changed for the better, as have racial attitudes among white Americans. And attitudes and racial tolerance seems to get better with the passing of time. This country elected a black president for heaven's sake, and more whites than blacks voted for Obama! How racist is that?

The fact that so high a percentage of whites responding to the questions asked of them gave answers that may at first seem bigoted, does not necessarily mean these people are racists, or that racism is on the rise. Many blacks themselves would give a similar answer to the first question that whites gave. It is wrong to conclude that a white person is a racist based on a couple of questions without knowing how the study/poll was conducted or without having any other information about the respondents.

The rise in numbers of the KKK and white supremacist groups, again, does not mean racism is on the rise anymore than does the rise in numbers of the NBPP (New Black Panther Party) or the NOI (Nation of Islam). These are extremist, fringe groups and they do not represent perceptions and beliefs of the vast majority of whites or blacks, as most whites and blacks find extremist hate groups vile and despicable. Fringe groups will always exist and will surface from time to time in a free society, as we all are free to believe what we wish.

Sometimes racial profiling is necessary to track down criminals. That's simply a fact, disturbing as some may find this to be.  But  profiling does not necessarily mean there's a prejudicial or racist motivation by the profiler. If somebody suspicious matches certain information, then I believe we should use all the information on hand, i.e., gender, weight, height, clothing, hair, race, etc., and whatever else about the individual that can lead to an arrest. Again, I wish racial profiling wasn't necessary, but it is... and it works!  Haven't we all at one time or another profiled someone who looked suspicious based on something he was wearing or the way he/she behaved?  If I see a black male walking down the street with a threatening demeanor, wearing 'gangsta' clothing, acting suspicious and thuggish looking-- I can assure you I will be profiling and notifying the police! And the same goes for Hispanic, Asian and white males, period.  It is unfortunate that good men sometimes are mistakenly targeted for bad men. It is also unfortunate that black men commit disproportionate levels of crime in this country, and until this changes, all of us are going to have fears,  perceptions and biases based on the sad reality of black crime.

Patriette I am in total agreement with your answer and couldn't have said it any better. I think that people are taking racism to an old context and it is not just about skin color anymore. Thank you, Author Cheryl; I'm glad we're on the same page where race in America is concerned. You know, Cheryl, I have lived in predominately white communities for most of my adult life and so has my husband. The color of our skin has never kept us from living wherever we wanted to live, or getting the job for which we qualified and advancement. We've even been members of a predominately white church and never felt out of place or unwelcomed, quite the contrary in fact. Out teenage son has been in the same predominately white k-12 school district since kindergarten, and not once has he been the victim of racism. He has never once been called the N-word, and neither have we, his parents. Imagine that! It is very sad that in the yea 2012 there are some who see racism where there is none. It is as if they actually want there to be racial division and hostility. White guilt and black victimhood is a recipe for disaster.

We have never experienced this kind of thing and I have been a woman who has dated black men since 1976 lived in a predominantly white town never had that issue. Here in Jacksonville and I did check there are 36 percent black males, 32 percent white males and 17 percent hispanic males in jail. I think that people that think that racism is still very prominent as far as skin color only see the news. I have lived in Florida for 12 years and south Florida for most of that time I have never worked with or saw people that were racist. I think that like I said the world is morally challanged.

Your going to base your view on a video that is three years old and was a cast of actors and they also did the same video for retarded children, down syndrome children working in a store, obese women in a bar and so forth. Im done. I do not believe in this kind of behavior as you say it. The only thing I can say is that it is really a shame that you believe that people still act like that. I do not ignore something that I dont see.

Patriette profile image

Patriette 4 years ago from Las Vegas, NV

With regards to the video, it looks like there is a bit of herd mentality going on on both sides; those who said or did nothing in defense of the black woman being accused and those who stepped up in defense of the woman. Human nature is what it is and often people will wait for others to take the lead. The larger point that should not be overlooked is that in the end, racist/bigoted policies will negatively impact business. When it became clear that a shopper was being wrongfully accused and humiliated because of her race, customers who defended the woman, lost their desire to do business in that store, and rightfully, proceeded to leave. Only three individuals acted out their bigotry: the security person, the store manager and the male shopper. Bottom line: there will always be bigots and racists in our midst. But the vast majority of decent people do not hold such deplorable attitudes, either overtly or covertly like that of the store manager in the videoclip.

There inevitably will always be a small minority of true racists. That's why it is so important not to use, or make characterizations lightly about these words - racists and racism - so that when true racism does rear its ugly head, we will be able to recognize it and call it out. The mis-use and over-use of these words dilutes its vileness over time.

Nice Hub! You make some very good points and so does your commenter Patriette. And that’s a nice video, why not include it in the hub? Patriette, I think your analysis of the video is right on!

Yes, Michele, many deny they are racist for reasons you mention; and also I’d like to add one, although maybe of lesser importance:

Some people coin words or phrases, or use some common words or phrases within their race with fluency, and everything is fine. But if someone outside their race uses one of those words or phrases – in any context – it is an instant problem and a racial slur.

I believe that laying claim to certain words and phrases for the exclusive use of one race fits the definition of racism. If it’s racist for other races to use them, then it’s racist for all races to use them.

Regardless, I stay away from these words and phrases, and so I’m not mentioning them here.

An additional problem is that not all of these words and phrases are known by everyone of all the other races. For example, I was once in a mixed group where scientific experimentation using animals was being discussed. Someone mentioned a certain animal, and the people of one race got highly offended at the mention of the word!

We should all keep in mind that the deliberate fomentation of racism is just one of the many strategies used by the ruling elite class to divide and weaken us as a people.

Patriette profile image

Patriette 4 years ago from Las Vegas, NV

Michele, since "racism hides itself", "no one will show you they are racist" and "there are so many people who ignore racism".... then it really does seem like there is no hope after all, doesn't it.

My contention is that even if you are a closet racist, as long as you do NOT prevent minorities from employment, housing and educational opportunities, then you can hold whatever racist views you wish.

But most rational people who are in business know that taking racist actions can have negative consequences on a business. For example, if a perfectly qualified black applicant is rejected because of racism, then the applicant can take his exceptional skills elsewhere, perhaps to a competitor.

As long as hiring, housing and educational practices are being adhered to under standard guidelines without relevance to one's personal feelings and thoughts, then an individual's opportunities are advanced and no harm has been done to another.

I honestly don't believe that people just ignore racism and pretend it never happens. In the example above, the minority applicant chose to do business with someone else where his skills would be valued. He did take action, and in a very proactive way. Also, there are legal remedies in place to redress grievances as a last resort.

As has already been stated in more than one post, pockets of racism will always be around in one form or another. Fortunately, racism is not rampant in this country today. Most people (whatever the race) are not racist, and the last thing anyone would want to be or be thought of is a racist... a very serious character flaw.

I am a biracial man half black/white. I have been studying race for 6 years and have some strong opinions. From my observations black people are way more hostile towards whites than vice versa. I think of black skin as a shield. Nobody will mess with you if you are black. I am so convinced I am trying to start a race change movement. Black skin = protection. I am very surprised the white man has not tried to get a race change yet considering what it really is. peace.

Michele travis,

You must live somewhere where african americans are scarce. I can tell you where I live at black men/white women relationships are common. And nobody will mess with you if you are black. Even though there are more white people here there are still a fair share of black people. I have always looked at black skin as a source of protection. I have never understood why people don't realize this. Being black is like being in a monster truck. You have lots of protection. Many blacks are wreckless with their protection and mess it up. I feel safer being black almost any where in the world. there are some areas that are dangerous no matter what color you are but rest assured you can know that if you are a man with black skin your skin is protecting you. Black on black crime generally takes place in bad areas where there are no whites to victimize. The police usually profile blacks in areas where black crime is out of control. If you live in the suburbs black skin is a great source of protection and I would highly recommend it to my white male friends and acquantances. Peace.

B_Dawg thank you so much, you do have a lot of information, but no I do not live in an area where the population is mostly white. It is very mixed. A lot of Hispanics, African Americans and Whites. The Hispanic rate is growing more then anyone. It might be, I am looking closely because of my family. Perhaps I can't help it. Maybe I look to hard. But, I look at everything carefully. That is just the way I do it. Racism is all around us. It does not matter who you are, it exists in the entire world, it always has and always will, not matter who you are. It is religion, race, place of national origin, language, sex, even sexual orientation. We are not perfect, and neither is society. At this point we can agree to disagree. And thank you for the word Peace. That is one of the things I pray for.

God bless you.

Michele Travis,

I think the people who get discriminated the most today for their outside appearance and nothing more are black women, hispanics, and the white man. Yeah that is right the white man. The white man has a bullseye on his back that he is born with and will take to his grave. I am trying to convince the white man to add some pigmentation to his game if that is even possible. I know black skin would help the white man. The white man always complaining about the race card well black skin would protect the white man like a condom. I do know several blacks who ABUSE the race card. All that does is make whites distrust blacks. The white man has been declawed and muzzled by society and I think a little bit of melanin is just what the white man needs moving forward.

Black women are treated unfairly by society. Most men of all races would prefer white women. They are not respected and are portrayed by the media as unattractive. It is sad but true.

Hispanics get hated on by blacks and whites. Maybe if they dyed their skin black and called themselves jamacians people would think twice about dissing them.

As a half black man I honestly think the black man brings on most of his own problems. Yes there is racism but atleast you don't have to watch what you say as much. Nobody really hates you for your skin color. You have great sex appeal. I don't feel threatened by white males at all I actually feel sorry for them because they are hated for another generations sins. If white people are so racist than why did 50% of them vote for Obama. Over 50% White women. Most hispanics are more friendly towards blacks and look at the white man as the opressor. Fact most white men are simple people with a 9-5 job. They have to deal with the same problems as anyone else. I have always said the best way to discipline a black thug would be to turn him into a white man. They always be using that filthy language and that dirty "N' word. They would learn real quick if they had white skin. That is my take peace.

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 4 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

You are very intelligent and have taken some time, in order to understand what you are writing about. Perhaps good looking people understand less about racism, because they are treated better. Is that the case for you? Just wondering.

B-Dawg 4 years ago

Michele travis,

Yes I am good looking. Kind of a mix between Grant Hill and Tiger woods. I know the problems black males deal with. I deal with them but they are petty. You have to make extra careful people don't associate you with thugs and crime. Does this make me angry? No, because I am smart enough to know that blacks commit a lot of crime. But I am also smart enough to know that a black thug will think twice about robbing compared to a white male because people look at blacks as street smart. The media has people brainwashed. The average black man is a negative thinker. He does not look at the perks of being black. He does not realize how his black skin helps him. I see blacks getting hostile with whites 10 times more than vise versa. If a black person did that to another black person do you know what would happen? They would probably get cursed out or a serious butt whoopin. An angry black woman or black man would not dare talk to a black man or woman like that becuause they know they would not get away with it.

Should white people stand up for themselves more? Not necessarily. If a white person gets aggressive with a black person it will probably not end well for the white person. Black people are stronger, faster, bigger, have the race card, NAACP etc. The best protection for white people is black skin. Or a black boyfriend, or a black body guard. Even if you are white and you have a black man with you nobody will usually mess with you. You said you have a black boyfriend so you should feel really safe. Do not feel threatened by white racists as they have no power. My mom literally told me that she wanted to have mixed kids because she knew they would be safer. Light skin black is just as good as being dark skin if not better. I think most women prefer light skin black men over white and dark skin. JMO. Peace.

Well you live in a mostly white neighborhood. Your family is bi-racial. That is fine. What your mother told you is fine also, she seems like a wonderful mother. As for angry black women not daring to be hostile to a black man or woman? That is not correct. They can be. They can speak their mind. So, can men. I don't know everything, you probably know a lot more then I do. I just learned a lot from my family, who is a huge mix of people. Some black, some white, and some mixed. And who lives on a farm, that we are working on right now. We are trying to fix it back up to what is used to be. We used to give riding lessons to children with special needs. So, this family is different then, well most people no matter what race.

B-Dawg, I’ve been reading along with your comments. You have an exceptional amount of insight and understanding of how the world really works regarding color of skin. The world is a better place for every bit of wisdom that someone can glean from you. You should be a columnist or something. Or write on HubPages - far more people read Hubs than read comments in Hubs.

Could you give your opinion on this: Wouldn’t it be better if black people would stop laying claim to a set of words and phrases that they freely say among themselves, but if a non-black dares to utter one of these, it is a racial slur and a big problem? (You touched on just one of those words above.) If a word or phrase spoken by some races is racial, then isn’t it racial for all races? When black people use these words in mixed company, isn’t it bringing light to and accentuating a division amongst us due to skin color?

B-Dawg 4 years ago

Michele Travis,

From what I have seen with my own eyes a black person is much less likely to get hostile with another black person.(It does happen but rarely) Especially a black stranger. I can promise you if a black person tried some of the things on another black person that they do on white people they would get put in their place real quick. I know white people are racist too but they are harder on other white people. I do think that white people would be more likey to stand up for themselves if they had some pigmentation.

I live in a quiet neighborhood in the suburbs. I go out a lot to the malls and stores and see people. I pay attention to how whites and blacks act towards each other. It is important to point out that blacks and whites get along 95% of the time. But when there is a conflict you will usually see a white victim. Many times the aggressor is black. Sometimes you will see a white person going off on a white. But people don't usually mess with the black man. I think if a white man could be black for about 6 weeks he would be stunned at how great it can be. Society focuses on the negative side of being black, but no one really talks about the perks. One day I would like to start a hubpage account. For now I am visiting sites and putting in my input. Peace.

A little Truth,

I assume you are talking about the "N" word. There is not much you can do about it. I don't like it either. It is an embarrassment. I was watching Eddie Griffin a black comedian and he used th "N" word every other word. There is one way to stop a black person from using the "N" word. Most blacks that use the "N" word in a condesending manner are usually low lives, thugs, trouble makers. I have always said the best way to punish and rehabilitate a black thug would be to turn him into a white man. Obviously that is not possible. You can't force someone to turn white. But if they could I promise you they would break the habbit real quick. I think the problem with black skin is it is too much protection. That is why there are so many blacks out of control. If they were white they would get knocked back down to earth. They would get raped in jail. They would learn to fly right. The best way to punish a black criminal would be to turn him into a white man. That may never happen but if it did I promise you they would drop the "N" word from their vocabulary real quick.

I would like to start a hubpage account. I need someone to help me as I have never set one up before. I have an outdated computer also. You are more than welcome to share my ideas with whoever you like. Right now my focus is on bringing pigmentation into the white community. I want to talk with dermatologists and spray tanning employees and see if we can't get the black spray tan. Mark my words black skin would be a good thing for the white man to have moving forward. He still has a lot of enemies from slavery days. I know white people don't like confrontation. They just wanna do their thing and be left alone. Black skin is the shield the white man needs. I think the white man would be surprised at the FINE women it attracts. That is my take peace.

Michele Travis,

I put in all the information but it would not go to the next page. It said error on page. I will try again later. Maybe I will use a friends computer. I do not have an email so I used my sisters. I assume you are supposed to make up a password I beleive it said.

You said someone made unpleasant remarks to a black man that you consider your step dad? What did they say? I assume they were white by the way you said it. Were they male or female how many was there?

B-Dawg,

Yes, the N word is one of them, the biggest one of course. My experience is its use among blacks in a friendly endearing way, pronounced a little differently.

But there are other words and phrases, and sometimes non-blacks get in trouble using a word that they didn’t know was on the list. For example, I was once in a mixed crowd and the conversation was on scientific experimentation using animals. A white person innocently mentioned a specific animal, got chewed out by two blacks and was told he’s lucky he’s not in another setting where he would have gotten hurt. The gist was ‘the name of that animal has a history with black people and so you’re not allowed to mention it’. The whole group changed the subject away from scientific experimentation.

You mention tanning for white people. Can that really help? Wouldn’t the other white features still overpower the skin color, such as blue eyes, a long nose and straight blonde hair? Does it help at all for a white man to simply get a suntan?

Yes, as Michele says, HubPages is very easy (once you get past your current computer technical difficulties). After you set up an account, mouse over your pen name at the top of any page, and click on Learning Center, and faq. Aslo, you can search the Hubs for “SEO” and “traffic” to learn how to get more people reading your hubs. I’d be happy to help.

I didn’t want to mention it in mixed company, but as I claim the copyright license called “fair use”, I will state that the animal is a monkey. The poor things don’t know that they’ve been converted to a racial slur - or do they?

A Little TRUTH Oh, thank you for telling me. I had not heard that used before. The only animals I really know much about are dogs and horses. Instead of asking you to read the all the hubs, I will tell you a little bit about myself. My father owns the business that was closed because state funding was cut. He is black and his wife is white. Kids are, black, white and bi-racial. The whole family is kind of a mix of this and that. Back to the business, we are trying to open it up again. The horses are used for children with Special Needs. The reason it was closed in the first place, was because State Funding was cut, but now we are trying to see if we can run it ourselves. I don't know if we can, but we are going to try.

Ok, I saved you from reading several hubs...lol...

A Little Turth,

I hope you didn't say porch monkey or chimp. Still it sounds like they over reacted. Some blacks will let their white friends say "nigga" in front of them. I would not recommend it though. In some cases a black man can get puched in the mouth. If a black man walked up to a black stranger and said it the wrong thing "I will whoop your a$$ "N" there is a chance he could get punched in the mouth. It is all how you say it. Black skin protects man. White skin puts man at risk. That is just the way it is. Black skin is like a monster truck. White skin is like a standard car on the road of life. If you are reckless in a monster truck you can still get hurt. It does not mean the monster truck is not better for protection than the car. Many blacks are reckless with their protection. If you are driving in a car and you are careful there is still a good chance you could get hurt. That is todays white man. Dark skin is better for protection than light skin. Light skin attracts more white women IMO.

You have got a good point on the tanning.

Hair- Cut it all off. Go bald or get wig.

Eyes-Some white men have brown eyes. There are colored contacts.

Nose- Thats a good point. Plastic surgery but I don't it is worth the hastle. Some white men have a nose that would pass. If you go for light skin you can get by on white features.

I still am having technical difficulties. I may be a racial mastermind for which the world has ever seen but I am not that smart with computers. My game plan is to find a friend who is good at computers and has a more up to date computer and try to get the hubpage moving. You are more than welcome to use some of my ideas for your own hubpage. The more people spreading the word the better. I still need to go to these tanning stores and dermatologist and ask questions. People act really weird when you ask about these things. The media has done nothing to promote bringing pigmentation into the white community but the table is set.

Did you notice how in the commercials the A black man is always portrayed as stronger, cooler and just better than the white man. They have been doing this for years. There is some truth to these commercials but they take the best of the black community and the worst of the white community and put them together. They have all but told the white man that he would look stronger, cooler and sexier if he were black. I am a simple minded man. But I am almost shocked the white man has not tried to do this yet. It would give him more flexibility on what he can and can't say. Black people would look at him as a brother and not just a white man. It would get him off the hook for slavery. Black skin is the skin that will give you friends and protection.

The funny thing is black women would actually benefit from being white. Maybe white men and black women should do a race swap some how some way. Peace

B-Dawg 4 years ago

Michele Travis,

I am surpised that happened. I could see if you were in like a West Virginia 95% white 5% black type area. Don't feel threatened by them they did not have the guts to say it to your face. To me that is protection. I usually see white people being more aggressive towards other white people. A rarely see anybody messing with a black man. It seems like black men know how to carry themselves to where nobody will mess with them. Black skin DOES help. I am at peace because I know there is protection for black people. My goal is to make sure that good white men that are accepting of other races have protection too. I think the black man has the best protection. I would like to see the elderly and women have that same protection as well. Elderly white men are much more defenseless than a healthy black man. I don't get as mad as most blacks do at racist white men because in my eyes having white skin in todays world is punishment enough. I know in my heart that it is their number #1 weakness weather they realize it or not. White skin would be a perfect way to rehabilitate a black trouble maker. They would learn real quick not to use the "N" word. They would get some sense knocked into them. An aggressive driver would learn not to be aggressive if he was in a car and had an accident because he is more likely to get hurt. If he is in a monster truck less likely to get hurt less likely to learn. that is my take peace.

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 4 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

B-Dawg I didn't feel threatened, I felt mad. My church is also full of people whose skin is white and black. But under the skin, aren't we all the all the same? Our blood is red, our have bone have calcium in them, our muscles are connected to our bones and help us move..ect. And ( to me) the most important thing of all, is that we are all children of God. That means, to me we are brothers and sisters because God made us. I hope that makes sense. You and A Little TRUTH, know a lot more then I do, well a lot more. Yes, the place I live in is not just 95% white and 5% black. My biological grandfather came from Cuba and my grandmother came from France. My mother's last name, before she was married was Pedro. She was insulted a lot. On the other hand, my biological father's family was here since the Mayflower. So, I have been raised to know that racism is horrible. My parent's died over 12 years ago. When my daughter was 3, I took her to the stables that I now call my home/family. She has a high level of Autism. The owner of the stables I consider my 'dad'. Well the entire family. We have just become so close. His oldest daughter, told her daughter that I am her aunt. Her baby is so cute! Well, all babies are. Anyway, I feel in terms of family, there is black/white/Cuban/french, and only God knows what else is in me. What is weird, is that my mother's skin had more brown in it. People say I look like my almost exactly like my sister, except she is more brown. My skin is fair, my sister's is not. Maybe I am a mutt. But, then a lot of people are.

But, the thing I feel most strongly about ( sorry for repeating myself) is that we are all children of God. I just don't think we should feel others are less/better then others because of the color of skin.

B-Dawg 4 years ago

Michele Travis,

That is the way it should be but people will never look at it like that in this life. In order to live in a society where color does not matter it would have to start on the television. Television and the media have a sneaky way of promoting racism. They target white men, black men, black women and foreigners. They don't usually bother white females. Television and media need to promote racial harmony. Rappers should rap about how we are all brothers. Rap is the most influencal music of them all.

I have autism also. Mine is called asberger. High level of it. That is probably why I am so obsessed with race relations. They say in some ways autistics are like genuius'. I drive a car but am a limited driver. I think being knowledgeable on race is the genius part of me. I feel like i am the only one who truly knows that black skin is a blessing like no other. If it wasn't for autism I might be more normal but I wouldn't have those instincts to zone in and study race like I have. OCD is a part of this. In a lot of ways I like having OCD because I think it makes me smarter on some things. Driving is one of my weaknesses but I do enough to get by. My people skills are limited. But I am a self proclaimed racial mastermind. Peace.

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 4 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

B-Dawg I should have been more specific. My daughter also has asberger's on a high level. That is is reason I took her to the stables that helped children with special needs. Her focus is computers and science. When it comes to people, she has a hard time even looking people in the eyes and talking to them. She has improved but it is still hard until she has know someone for a while. She can build a robot, create computer programs, but cannot start a conversation. Well, except for our second family that we met when I took her there when she was three.

Yes you are a racial mastermind, you know so much about it, that is is amazing.

You are also right about television and the media, and music. But, I have no idea if or when that will ever change. Peace

Michele Travis,

I had those social skills issues but got better as I got older. Driving is one of my weaknesses but I do enough to get by. I am not that great at computers. I was always pretty good at math. I drink one 5 hour energy a day. That made me more sociable. I am not that great at eye contact either.

Michele Travis profile image

She has also gotten a little bit better at social skills. When she was a lot younger, all she could do was repeat herself over and over. She has improved a lot. But, driving is going to be hard for her. Social skills are always hard, but I love her not matter what. I just love her so much.

B-Dawg 4 years ago

Michele,

If she is like me she will probably be a limited driver. I went to a special school to get my drivers license. I do not like to drive any faster than 45mph. That is easy to do where I live. I do not get on interstate. I would not want to drive in the country too fast. I try to drive non peak times. People drive like maniacs it gets worse every year. I did not get my license until I was 20.

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 4 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

B-Dawg that is a very good way to drive, she will probably drive like that also. People on the interstate drive like idiots. Her interest is driving is very low right now. It is interesting, You do understand what she is like. That is kind of cool. Others are sympathetic, but not truly understanding.

B-Dawg 4 years ago

MT,

I have been driving over 11 years and it is still crazy. Every year there are more cars and they get more aggressive every year. I still would not want to be on a country road though. Is it congested and fast paced ere you live? They do not have enough roads where I live at to support traffic during peak times.

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 4 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

BD The country roads here are pretty good. They are always quiet, except when it is hunting season. It is kind of scary that time of year. Mostly because deer run across the road. The interstate roads are always bad.

But, the country roads, they are usually nice.

A Little TRUTH 4 years ago

Michele,

I wish you well in restarting your family business. If you have a burning desire to succeed, and you think about your success most of the time throughout the day, you will succeed.

B-Dawg,

No, it wasn’t porch monkey or chimp. I can understand porch monkey being derogatory, as the phrase does not refer to an animal, but rather people who hang out on the front porch. But if a group of scientists are working every day with experimentation using chimpanzees, after a while they might get tired of pronouncing the whole word and just refer to them as chimps.

Regarding white people going black, I think that very, very few people would have the desire or need to go to some of the extremes that you are talking about. Artificial tanning is adding toxins to your body, colored contacts reduce night vision, a wig is not good in hot climates. I’m glad you agree plastic surgery is going too far. That would be a Michael Jackson in reverse, and everybody knows how that turned out for him.

I don’t believe in being deceptive anyway. I am who I am. If there are issues between us, let’s deal with that - either tolerate it, or discuss it or do something about it.

My issue is not only white skin, but looking like I’m from the United States. Here in the Dominican Republic, sometimes I am called an “Americano”, in a derogatory way. As you know, the United States Government does a very good job of fomenting distain for Americans in almost every other country in the world.

The ‘N-word’ for us here is “gringo”. It comes from the phrase “green go”, referring to the US troops in their green uniforms to go away - get the hell out of our country. I don’t want the US troops here anymore than they do, but they don’t know that. There was a large demonstration here protesting the installation of a new US base. I had to stay far away from that location during that time.

Yes, it’s amazing how much trouble black women go through to straighten their hair like a white woman’s.

Good point about the commercials - I think that goes for movies too.

B-Dawg 4 years ago

A Little Truth,

I just don't understand why as much as people complain abour racism and being judged by the color of their skin why they don't just invent a simple way to change it. The black man complains about racism the most I would say. But the BIG truth is black skin is the black mans best friend more times than not. Most black men would probably rather go to jail than to be a white man. I am not joking. Black women that may be a different story. The white man everything that the white man complains about in terms of race black skin would help him.

Is it really going to the extreme? People buy virus protection for their computers, people buy airbags for their cars, Locks for their doors, Condoms for when they have sex. Americans like protection. They are willing to spend $ for protection. Black skin for the white man = Protection. More flexibilty on what he can and can't say. And it would get him his man card back.

Black skin would also be good for a Steve Carell 40 year old virgin type person. There is a high demand for good black men in our society. You are not going to get lost in the mix if you are a good black man. Steve Carell type person would have not been neglected like that if he was blessed with pigjmentation. Black skin + Good person = Lots of friends and relationship opportunities.

With the high demand for good black men in our society a good white man disguised as a black man could be a mentor or role model to a struggling black kid or young adult. Black people respond to color. It is hard for many blacks to trust outsiders with the history of race in america. But I think their are plenty of good white men that are only one race change away from being a good role model to a black person. Once again black people generally respond to color.

I also think they need more black faces in law enforcement. There are a fair share of trouble makers in the black community, They also respond to color. Sending a white cop or security guard to confront a black suspect can be like throwing gasoline on a fire. A white policeman is considered guilty of being a racist until proven innocent by many. The last thing in this world I would want to be is a white cop or authority figure. I would not be able to deal with the deframation of character which is what many innocent whites deal with. Black skin would protect them from that. From what I see white people get pulled over by the police more than black people. Everytime I see a cop pull someone over I look to se what color the driver is usually white. So I think there are a lot of myths with race.

I live in an area where that is rapidly growing and crime is on the up. The economy doesn't help either. One of my white friends said that he is going to get a concealed weapons permit because of all the nuts out there. I told him that black skin would reduce his chances of having problems also. If you a white woman a black boyfriend good for protection. Black skin is like a badge of honor. Like a police uniform or a military uniform. I told my white friend black skin is the only protection I need. Peace.

A Little TRUTH profile image

A Little TRUTH 4 years ago

B-Dawg,

I would like to offer an answer to why people don’t stop complaining about racism and just change their skin color.

Door locks, airbags, etc. for protection are not a deception. A white man disguised as black is a deception. That is a huge difference to me. It’s like a man dressing as a woman, or vice versa. How can a person who is living a lie be a good role model? Would he not be teaching by example: “The answer to your problems is a big huge lie.”

You have an excellent perception of how the world works regarding color of skin. However, I can’t agree with your suggested methods because I believe in integrity and honesty, not deception and lies.

I do agree that it would be an excellent temporary learning experience if a white man could be black or vice versa, for a week or a month.

If racism is a problem, we need to get to the root of it. We need to recognize that the tensions between the races are purposely fomented by the ruling elite class in order to divide and control us. 1) Just that acknowledgement - that we’ve all been duped, tends to smooth things out. 2) Then instead of fighting each other, or disguising ourselves and being ever vigilant to make sure that our true colors never show through, we can direct our attention at exposing those control techniques of the elite.

You have your natural black skin and features; you cherish it, understand its implications very well, and that is commendable. But I think you’re going a little far in telling others of a different race how they should change themselves and lie to the world in order to solve their racial issues if they have any.

What if the tables were turned? For example, there are still some areas where white skin is a protection - say an all-white, poor area. How would a black man who lived there feel if someone suggested that, in order for protection, he should do a Michael Jackson minus the surgery, and keep up the facade for life? I think you already answered that question when you said that a black man would rather go to jail than be white.

B-Dawg 4 years ago

A Little Truth,

With the history of race and slavery and how things have played out it is going to take more than just an "honest conversation" to get the white man off the hook. I can tell you white skin is the only thing that links todays white man with slavery nothing more nothing less. I can't help how I feel. I just know the white man is on a short leash on what he can and can't say without a backlash. I feel like I owe it to the white man to let him know that black skin would protect him. I also try to let other blacks know that their skin is protecting them. Many agree. Some will take an isolated occurence like Trayvon Martin and say why didn't black skin protect him? But I look at the other side too. What if George Zimmerman was black? Black skin would protect Mr. Zimmerman in prison and would give him less enemies. Maybe if Zimmerman were black he would have gotten more respect and their would not be a struggle. I know many blacks look at white authority figures like "substitute teachers" they don't respect their authority.

I understand what you are saying about deception. You have every right to feel that way. But I am aware of so many situations where black skin would have helped the white man. When people look at white males they see oppressors and slave owners. Even though most white males are a 9-5 average joe. Is that right for the white man to be hated on for nothing. Also a black faced white man can protect his fellow whites from the black mans racism better with a black face. I have protected whites from black bullies just by using by black charm. "Nah bra he cool thats my boy don't mess with him." It is in the white mans best interest to bring pigmentation into the white community.

What if the tables were turned you asked? In my studies with race I have asked myself how would white skin help the black man? It wouldn't. White skin would be a good punishment for a black thug. I personally don't like the way "ghetto" blacks use the "N" word. Many people ask how can we get them to stop using that filthy word. The answer would be turn them into a white man. They would learn real quick. I should consult judges and law enforcement and tell them. If I was the victim of a crime committed by a black male. And the judge asked me do you want to put him in jail for 3 years, or turn him into a white man I would tell the judge to turn him into a white man. White skin would be a punishment for a black male. The only black males that deserve this punishment are black thugs and ones that abuse the "N" word. This particular punishment would rehabilitate black thugs quicker as white faces can't get away with as much. I know it sounds impossile but have you ever seen the movies white chicks and tropic thunder. Just keeping it real with you.

I know you want to get to the root of it but the sad truth is things are not going to get better. This is a s good as it will get. Let me tell you what is happening in the black community. There are good, well educated kind hearted blacks. And there are angry, bitter uneducated hateful blacks. The angry bitter ones are heavy breeders. Many of them come from single parent homes and they teach their kids to hate white people. Basically white males. Many biracial babies are trained to hate their white side. Once again they are heavy breeders. I am just trying to tell the white man that if I was him I would be thinking about bringing some pigmentation into the white community. You have no idea how many enemies the white man has. It is on the down low.

The scary thing is if my mom would have chose a white partner I would be in the same boat. So would Obama. I see black skin for what it truly is in this world protection, a shield and a priveledge. And I hope that one day the white man will see the light. I had a light blue car and I actually had it painted black. I love the color black. I did this to make a statement. It is still the same car but it is more popular. It looks nicer. If the white man can do the same thing to his skin that I did to my car he has a bright and colorful future ahead of him.

BTW, a little truth, Are you male or female? This pigmentation proposal is designed for white males. Asian and hispanic males would benefit too. I am not trying to pressure no one but to educate white males on how black skin can help them. That is my take peace.

Thank you for understanding my position on deception. I’ll stick with honesty and integrity.

I must admit that my only knowledge of racism comes from reading and videos and hearing people talk about it. I’ve never experienced it in real life. So, even if I cared not about honesty and integrity, I would have no desire to attempt to put on any traits of another race. Thank you for the suggestions though, they might be attractive to some people in dire situations.

I disagree that things are not going to get better. The United States has gone from black slavery, to black people sitting where they want on a bus, to a black president.

You seem to be bitter about slavery. Have you been a victim of racial slavery? If you’re not old enough to have experienced that, why bring racial problems from history into the present?

Today, you are a slave just like I am. If you are not one of the billionaire elite class, you are their slave. They live off of the fruits of our labor in ways that are so sneaky and underhanded that most people don’t realize it's happening. They have the banking system, as well as education, media, food, drug, health care etc. systems rigged against us. That is why, in spite of the vast improvements in technology and productivity, poverty and sickness just keeps getting worse. This is slavery today. We are in a mind prison. Have you been to websites like prisonplanet.com? We are in this together; we need to get out of it together.

B-Dawg 4 years ago

A Little Truth,

I am not bitter about slavery, I am actually trying to protect innocent white people from slavery backlash mentality. I do not think todays white man should be punished for yesterdays white mans sins. I am trying to enlighten black men that their skin is a blessing and how it helps him. So many black males look at the negative side of being black. I think if the white man went black he wouldnt want to go back.

I probably would not think about race as much either if the media outlets didn't constantly put it out there. Not to mention blacks wining all the time constantly being negative. They know black skin is a blessing. I think many blacks just like to complain. I think black skin is the black mans # 1 strength. I think his mindset is his #1 weakness. I will be the first to testify that being black has more perks than bad.

I agree with %100 with what you said about the elite class and how the rest are a slave to the system. Most blacks think all whites are priveledged. I know most of them are not. Most are 9-5 wj. Peace.

B-Dawg,

I am trying to understand your logic, but am failing miserably and can't help but to be offended. Very offended.

I understand the concept of black men and women accepting responsibility, and pride, and not playing "the victim". The racism that blacks have experienced here in the US is insurmountable, and is proofed by your posts.

It seems that you are equating "black skin" with some sort of physical prowess that only benefits us in the wake of a violent encounter. It's as if you're regurgitating a slave inspired scripture, "If he smites one cheek, turn to him the other cheek also."

Are you even aware that black success is steadily growing, with black women surpassing black males in education and finance at what some would consider near-exponential rates? What is your advice for black people who are dealing with "skin color" DISADVANTAGES in corporate America? What about within our EDUCATIONAL system, wherein lies the future of our great nation? I am disgusted at your attempt to glorify black skin as being some "protective" entity when it is the single most factor responsible for blacks being imprisoned at high rates, while keeping us socially and financially bankrupt in comparison to the white people whom you speak of.

A Little TRUTH profile image

A Little TRUTH 4 years ago

Iggys Mom,

You bring up some good points. I think part of what you are referring to is “black pride”. Although it is supposed to sound good, to me it is equally as racist as “white pride”, “yellow pride” or “green pride”. It’s good to be proud of who we are and the good that we do, but not to purport that color is the reason.

As I mentioned earlier, if we aren’t one of the billionaire elite class, we are their slave - regardless of skin color. They foment racism to divide and conquer as one of their many methods to keep us down. Some people fall victim to this control method and end up focusing intently on skin color. The good news is that many are now realizing that and rising above it.

Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone on earth could have eye surgery that removed the ability to discern skin color? We could all just be ourselves. But wait - we can have that surgery - as Gandhi said, “BE the change you wish to see in the world".

B-Dawg 4 years ago

Iggys Mom,

My mom told me straight up that she planned on having biracial kids because she felt like we would have better protection in society. She has showed me example after example of how black skin is protection. Because I have black skin people are less likely to mess with me. That is a positive. Women love black men. Positive. All the white men want to be me all the white women want to see me positive. Black people treat me like family. Positive. If my mom would have chose a white partner I would not know these perks. My mom did a good job teaching me that black skin is helpful to me in society.

I will never understand to my dying day why the black man is so blind to see how his black skin is helpful to him in society. I tell my white friends that black skin would be a good thing for them to have. If the white man went black he would not want to go back.

There are laws to make sure black people are treated fairly on the job. When Obama(black skin) defeats Romney(white skin) you will see which color is more popular in society. Black skin is a hidden treausre. An unsung hero. A gift from heaven. The white man has no idea what he is missing everyday he passes on the opportunity to bring pigmentation into the white community. That is my take peace.

Iggys mom,

Lets look at more examples most poular golfer Tiger Woods (black skin), Most popular country singer Darious Rucker (black skin). Stop thinking the world hates you cause your black. I have always found black skin makes you popular.

I am not down playing the psycological effects of slavery and the poverty within the black community. But thats all people usually talk about. That is why I am so aggressive in showing people that black skin has more perks than negative. I also have concluded that police pulling over blacks more than whites is a myth. Atleast in my area. I have been studying race for over 6 years and I watch closely.

If a white man dyed his skin black I think most of them would like the results.

If a black man bleached his skin white and passed as a white man in my opinion based on what I have seen he would not like it.

Getting a race change favors the white man! PEACE

Michele Travis,

So how about my boy Obama! He won an election against a white man in a country that is over 70% white! Not once but twice! I think this proves my point. Blacks could not possibly be the most hated race to pull this off. But the most popular. Obama carries himself the right way he is humble and respectful. When you carry yourself the right way black skin usually is popular. And I think it proves that america does not have a major problem of racism against black males. It is all how you carry yourself. I think Obama would have got more white votes if he had not made biased comments in Zimmerman/Martin case and Professor Gates/ White cop case.

PEACE!

B-Dawg,

Yes, your point is well proven. Obama won twice for two reasons, among others. 1) Many white voters see him as a man, not focusing on color. 2) Many black voters (including you apparently) see him as a black man, focusing on the black skin. The majority of mankind has stopped focusing on skin color; it might be good to consider doing the same.

A Little Truth,

I am just trying to prove that black skin would be a good thing for a man to have. Maybe if Romney had black skin he would have won election. I also think this proves that racism against blacks is not as bad as people say it is. My mom literally told me she wanted to have biracial kids because she felt we would be better protected in society.

PEACE!

B-Dawg, you are certainly entitled to your opinion and your black pride.

As for me, I will never be convinced to espouse any benefits, ethics, morality or especially integrity of someone doing a Michael Jackson race change in reverse, even in the smallest way; and I do not wish to discuss it any further.

Okay. 2 Questions? Are you going to make any new hubpages anytime soon? Are you male or female?

James A Watkins 4 years ago from Chicago

While I agree totally that racism runs rampant in the United States, it is from the opposite source of that which you are taught by the public schools and main stream media. Turn on any one of the six public cable channels in Chicago and they are full of black people talking about "we" and "us" and believe me sister they are not talking about you or me. Now imagine if you turned on a show and some white guy was talking about "we" and "us" and just as obviously referring to only white people. He would be publicly stoned!

90% of men raped in prison are white and 90% of them are raped by black men. This is well known. The black convicts say themselves it is revenge.

30,000 white women are raped every year by black men in America and how many black women are raped by white men? 9. Some blacks know this and when confronted with the facts change the subject to slavery, as if YOU deserved to be raped a black man because of something some white guy did 200 years ago who wasn't even related to you.

Black people commit violent crime against whites 39 times more than vice versa, and rob them 136 times more often than they are robbed by them. In the last forty years, MILLIONS of black on white violent crimes have been committed. You don't see it your newspaper because the liberal press decided long ago that it was "inflammatory" to show black criminals in photos if they have killed or injured innocent white folks.

Even some black groups admit to these numbers but say it will end when economic equality is reached. What is economic equality? It is when all racial groups make the same amount of money and have the same amount of wealth. What is the number one determinate of how much you will earn in your lifetime and how wisely you will use your earnings to create wealth? Cognitive Ability, otherwise known as intelligence. Since the object is "group" equality how do the groups compare in Cognitive Ability? Whites average IQ is 20 points higher. Therein lies the difference in income and wealth. That is why so many "people of color" vote for Socialism—vote themselves money other people have earned.

Black mobs roam cities and target and attack white people all the time in America. Google it and you can see for yourself. If you watch the tapes, the black mobs go right by other black folks and don't touch them. They are targeting whites because they are white. Why don't you hear about it? I'll step aside and let a prominent black author explain it to you:

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/299918/cens...

Remember that you can't just quote so-called Hate Crime statistics, which make it look like white heterosexual men are always the perpetrators and never the victims. Hate Crime laws are NOT MADE to record hate against whites unless they practice homosexual behaviors. Just the opposite. It is like a lawyer for the Justice Department said 2 years ago when confronted with a black on white racially motivated crime: "I didn't become a civil rights lawyer to prosecute black people."

James, it is not just black and white. It is Asian, also Hispanic. I look like my dad, but my mom was Hispanic. My grandfather came from Cuba. A long time ago. The kids at my mother's school teased her. That was not so bad. It is just that racism is racism, not matter who it hurts.

Thank you once again for your comment, it is a very good one, describing what racism really is.

B-Dawg 4 years ago

Michele Travis,

I have visited and commented on James Watkins hubpage articles. I consider him one of my biggest fans. There is a lot of truth in what James is saying. My mom used to have some of the same complaints. That is why she made sure she had biracial children. Black skin for me is a shield from those double standards that Mr. Watkins spoke of.

Black skin will give the white man the best protection from what is going on in america right now. Whites inherited a unfair situation. But there are ways around it. One thing white males need to focus on right now is trying to figure out how to pass as black. Black skin will protect the white man from black sin. The police can get all those black mobs off the streets better black faced because they won't have to deal with racial politics.

Another thing white couples need to be aware of is they do not have to have white children. They can ask a black friend for a sample of his sperm. They can get black sperm samples at the hospital. There are so many ways for white to be victors not victims of a slavery backlash they had nothing to do with.

Black skin would be an insurance policy for the white man. A shield. A gift from heaven. A get out of jail free card. Black skin will turn the tables. Black skin gives you the best chance to get from point A to point B safely. I am shocked the white man has not tried to get a race change yet. PEACE

Unfortunately, racism has never gone away but seems to rise and fall with the economy. I will say though, that today's generation seems to be far less racist than my baby boom generation, so that's some progress, at least. Voting this Up and Interesting.

Yes it does go up and down, I just think ( my opinion only) that people get good at hiding it.

Thank you very much for your comment. I pray it is true.

B-Dawg 4 years ago

MT,

If white people are hiding racism why did so many vote Obama? Why is it a white neighborhood safer for a black man than a black neighborhood? Why do so many white females prefer black men? I think black women are the only ones who are discriminated against on a large scale. Yes white people can get intimidated by a black male at night but maybe thats because their white skin makes them more likely to get robbed. Peace.

B-Dawg One of the reasons was because Romney lost was because he was going to try to prove the that America was the strongest nation on earth. He was also going to " Stand up to China" as we know, China gives Nuclear information to Iran. Iran wants to bomb Israel more then anything. If Romney angers China enough, that they actually send enough nuclear information to Iran and Iran does try to bomb Israel, then that could actually start WWIII. Also, if you look at the number of votes each one of them had, Romney got most of the white votes. Obama got White, Black, Hispanic, and Asian votes. That does make this election very interesting. There were also women's rights that were on the ballot. Many of the Republicans made some serious mistakes during the election. Yes many white people did vote for Obama, but a vote is not just the color of a person's skin. The vote is about the issues. Like the war, economy, women's rights, the issues between the poor and the rich, the vouchers for the poor, planned parenthood and a few other things.

Peace to you also.

The issue of racism will apparently never go away. It appears to be in human nature to blame others that have had no cause for his/her failings and faults. Racial problems always grow or are more flagrant when there are economic challenges in society. Racism exists in various forms the world over. Russia, US, India, Brazil, etc. Just yesterday on the evening news I heard about KKK members in VA attempting to recruit people by leaving literature at their homes.

The cowards, er, uh, members, had their dirty sheets to hide their identities and spouted nonsense about being Christian separatists on camera. It's their US right, but we have the right to disagree. You can find racism anywhere you go and often the perpetrators will deny or get violent when confronted so nothing ever really gets solved because they don't want to change their views in any way. Good thing that the world is a melting pot nevertheless :) They love hatred, so they must really enjoy life today eh?

Michele Travis profile image

Michele Travis 3 years ago from U.S.A. Ohio Author

Express10 They are cowards, since they have to wear dirty sheets. I am not sure what a "Christian Separatist", but I don't what to be separated from God.

You are right about loving hate. They probably are happy now.

Yes, they have the right to voice their opinions ( while hiding) and I have the right to feel like puking, when I look at them.

Hi michelle do you speak spanish? Is my natal language is easier for me

to talk. Well anyway I would tried to write in english back to the subject like this lady say if racism doesn't stop you from having a job housing a feel safe, the ones that are hating are the ones that are losing because

God say it on his word those that hate don't love me therefore where you think a person is going to end it up after they died? Exactly don't matter if you believe me or not Heaven and hell does exist and it should be very scary not to believe in it and fall on it .So the best way to stop all of this is praying for those people so they can change their views and not fall into the devil tramp

God bless u

Is this still happening in America? I need to be educated. Thank you very much for sharing this great article. I will tweet it.

It appears that you only believe racism can be directed at the African Americans. As a Middle Eastern American, I found this article after reading some of your disturbing comments on youtube. I get spit on, I pulled over by cops on a weekly basis, I don't get called back for job interviews because of my name, some people actually tried to have my father's business shut down because he is Middle Eastern and Muslim, I have people at my college calling me jihad, towel head, sand n*****, etc. just because of where my family is from. Yes, poor white American Christians, they have it so hard. Muslim Americans just have it so easy. Life is just one big walk in the park.
