Re-Rolling The Lemon

On October 1st of this year Obama rolled out his "signature piece of legislation" which we now know affectionately as Obamacare. Better name now might be Obamascare. It turned out to be one of the biggest lemons since Rambler rolled the Gremlin off of the assembly line. After 3 years and millions and upon millions of dollars of our tax dollars the system was so simple to navigate that you couldn't really even log in. The best computer minds, who were connected to Moochelle Obama, were awarded a no bid contract to produce the most expense technological lemon ever. Then Obama had the audacity to compare it against an Apple rollout? Really?

Then the other hidden surprise crept out of the Obama closet and people by the millions started to receive their cancellation notices because their old policy wasn't up to Obamascare snuff with offerings they didn't have any interest in wanting or paying for. Dr. Obama was hard at work even though he repeatedly told us that if we liked our present policies we could keep them. PERIOD!

So lets watch this video where back in 2010 Obama admitted that 8-9 million individual policy holders would lose their coverage because of Obamascare and they would just be thrilled about it because they were going to get better coverage. The fact is Obama lied all along and he knew it. In his own words captured again on video.

At The Healthcare Summit

The deals are worse, rather than better, as those folks are now finding out. I think the Republicans might have been the only people who actually read that bill. The Democrats were following Pelosi's lead of "pass it so we can find out what's in it." It was like the Dems didn't know how to read was it? They definitely knew, at that point, that Obama was lying and then started repeating his lie knowing he was lying. That should disturb anyone but another pathological liar.

So lets go back to the lemonade stand and continue on. The website fiasco is a bit of a distraction right now from the more serious issue of the American public being bamboozled. The 8-9 million folks with individual policies are just the tip of the iceberg. Remember those mandates where the federal government is telling you what, when and where to buy a product, namely your health insurance? Those mandates are expensive in case you aren't catching on.

The American Enterprise Institute just released a research study that is letting the bigger cat out of the bag that will make that 8-9 million figure pale in comparison. The study has calculated that the people who may lose their policies for the very same "constructs in the law" that Eric Cantor mentioned upwards of 80 million folks. Now let me ask you something since you know Obama wasn't being straight with us from the get go. Why do you think Obama delayed the business mandate until after the 2014 mid-term elections? I think even Stevie Wonder can see the answer to that question. This is about to get uglier than it already is I can assure you.

It is estimated that of the 157 million Americans who presently hold employer provided health insurance policies nearly half of those people would start losing their coverage's in 2014. Do the math. If you are one of those folks you may want to toddle on down to your human resources department and start asking some fast and hard questions. You may not continue to grin about Obamacare when you do.

Another cheery reminder comes from the Manhattan Institute which made this observation, “the administration estimated that approximately 78 million Americans with employer sponsored insurance would lose their existing coverage due to the Affordable Care Act.” Notice the words "administration estimated." Of course they knew and still know. So why did Obama delay the business mandate until after the mid-term elections?

The American Enterprise Institute states that this administration anticipates one half to two thirds of smaller business policies will have to be cancelled and the workers be compelled to go onto these glorious exchanges. Can't you just wait. You're going to have to because Obama unilaterally delayed the business mandate until after the 2014 mid-term election. Oh by the way. The same study predicted up to 100 million, give or take a few, small and large business policies can face the Obamascare axe. A real comfort to you now is it?

Just an observation. It seems any fix that Obama thinks up involves throwing tax payer money at it. Why is that?

One thing should be perfectly clear at this point unless you're dumber than a box of rocks in Omaha. The projections issued by this administration itself point out vividly that they knew this was all about to come down around our ears. They knew it all along and lied to us about it all along. The Democrats wrote that law in a very naked attempt to take over 16th of this nation's economy. Face the facts now time!

A look at the Federal Register shows a mid-range estimate that 76% of small group plans and 55% of large group employer plans would be cancelled. By when you ask? According to the Federal Register by 2014. So let me ask you again. Why did Obama delay the employer mandate until after the 2014 mid-term election?

You now have your answer in case you didn't think about it before. Grab those tennie runners and beat em feet em down to your human resources manager and start finding out how much this might cost you. In fact, what I am talking about is already beginning to happen and you would know that if you are using credible news sources in your daily life.

When HHS started formulating the "grandfather rules" they knew exactly how to kill off that policy you like and wanted to keep. PERIOD. The stuff is just beginning to hit the fan and the website is the least of our worries.

Vote It," "Like" It, "Tweet" It, "Pin " It, "Share It" With Your Followers. Time to let em read it and keep reading it.

As Always,

This entire fiasco was never about health care to begin with. It is purely about power, money, and control.

It would have been cheaper and easier just to give those uninsured citizens a free policy and leave everyone else alone.

But a plan was needed that would affect every citizen of this country and give the government more control over "we the people." We already know that millions of dollars were wasted on the no-bid contract to friends of Michelle Obama. Or were they wasted? How much of these millions of dollars came right back to Washington in the form of campaign contributions? This could have been one of the best money laundering schemes ever conceived.

I really don't see why so many are so upset about Obamacare. Let's make a little list.

Based on lies.

Nobody read it before they voted.

Current cost is three time the estimate and growing.

Website crashed on the launch pad.

Contracts based on cronyism.

Broken promises.

Polices cancelled and replacement more expensive.

Lack of security on website.

This list could cover pages, but why bother? Our elected representatives are not personally affected by Obamacare so they could care less. In their minds the show must go on and they will still have their health coverage and get their paychecks. The rest of us are on our own.

Mike - Well the last thing you said about "not being affected" is another reason to sharpen up one's boot points for the 2014 mid-term elections. They refused to back off that a couple of moths ago too.

It is just possible that at least a few of those who have not been paying attention will wake up when they personally feel the pain of Obamacare. This alone could play a large role in the outcome of the 2014 elections.

Well they say that Obama never even ran a lemonade stand so we can see what happens when experience is lacking.

tsadjatko profile image

Yeah, maybe in the future people will realize that someone who never ran a company can not run the country - a CEO of the lowest quality would know how to make sure his website worked and was secure (but then even a village organizer would probably get that right - not sure about a Harvard grad though).

Comparing Obamacare to a lemon insults citrus. At least a lemon is still affordable! But there is so much more Obamacare can do that a lemon cannot.

Money spent on healthcare increased 25 % since 2007! In 2013 almost 3 trillion dollars will be spent on health care. It is estimated by 2022 healthcare costs will rise to 5 trillion dollars.

Frog is right, when you take into account the tax hikes and wasted billions spent just to set up Obamacare healthcare will not be affordable for anyone except maybe those who get free or subsidized healthcare from the government. All the expenses will be passed on to us. Obamacare will take more money out of your pocket, destroy jobs and benefits, make fewer doctors available and will change everybody's life.

Find me a lemon that can do that!

tsadjatko - And add trillions more to the national debt.

Well Yeah, but the left says that is good! Add more to the debt. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/opinion/forum/...

Of course the argument laid out in this article is totally bogus. Who is the author?

Oh, Sally Kohn!

She is a "community organizer and political commentator." Why am I not surprised! Look at all the experience she has running companies like Caterpillar, IBM, Boeing or, god forbid running a country? Seems "community organizer" is really another name for village idiot.

There have been a lot of comments about the current administration supporting the concept of 'redistribution of wealth'. It seems to me that even as it is happening, we're not recognizing that this is really about 'redistribution of health'. Under this law we are:

1) Taking away the capability from those who could afford minimal healthcare, and giving a better capability to those who cannot,

2) Penalizing through taxes those who can not afford healthcare anymore,

3) Interfering through the IRS with voices that protest the new laws,

4) Interfering through our Department of Justice (injustice?) with those who report on these concerns, (and they are valid concerns), and

5) affecting roughly one-fourth to one-third of our population.

Government incompetence and interference proliferated to this extent is why many prefer anarchy.

There is no question that once the employer mandate kicks in, there are going to be alot of very unhappy people. Not only will tens of millions of workers lose their group insurance and have to fully fund their own health insurance by purchasing individual policies at the exchanges (if they one day become able to register and enroll), but the otherwise due optout penalty from employers that cancel their corporate health plans will be averted by cutting employees' hours by 25%, which means a 25% pay cut in addition to the loss of the typical 80% employer subsidy provided in the soon-to-be-extinct group coverage. 90% of Americans will be hammered to offer subsidized health insurance to the lower income group currently without coverage. And the insurance the lower income demographic receives will be far from ideal - think fee cap reductions to limit system deficits as good risks opt out and obtain non-comporting insurance, adverse IPAB decisions on fee caps that in effect constitute denial of coverage when you need it most, primary care doctor attrition and resultant long wait times, doctors refusing to accept Obamacare assignments due to fee cap reductions and the resultant balance billing, etc. Yes, the lower income group currently without health insurance will obtain a "policy," but they won't in a meaningful sense obtain "coverage." Once doctors begin to refuse to accept Obamacare assignments, patients will have to pay the doctors' normal fees upfront. Then the patients will receive small "Medicare style" reimbursements from their Obamacare "coverage," of course only after they satisfy Obamacare deductibles (which admittedly will be set to low levels for the poor). The point here is that the "newly covered poor" won't really be "covered." Only the middle class and the wealthy can afford balance billing. In spite of having subsidized insurance, the poor will still not be able to afford to see the doctor.

Some people believe that having low premiums is cheaper insurance. somehow they neglect to consider the deductible cost usually a very high dollar cost before the policy kicks in paying. Another huge problem is if your doctor is not in the so-called network. http://hubpages.com/politics/GOVERNMENTHEALTREFORM...

This government is government by the party not the people.

Everyone of those who voted for the bill should forever be remembered for destroying the country.

They and middle class will pay the $95 Health savings plans would help solve the problem? The key to lowering insurance costs get the people back to work and increase the pool. Hidden government taxes on providers are also increasing the cost http://hubpages.com/politics/GOVERNMENTHEALTREFORM...

They are who they are http://commieblaster.com/progressives/index.html Senator Miller (D)retired warned the Democrats at the National Convention that the party was being taken over by radicals Time has proven the Senator correct

The real question should be is ''where are the patriots in the Democrat party''

tsadjatko profile image

tsadjatko 3 years ago from maybe (the guy or girl) next door

Jon, you are so right (no pun intended, I mean correct).

There are patriots in the Democratic party but their loyalty is not to American authority and interests! They are all patriots of an imaginary country, their imagined utopia, the same utopia promised by communists, socialist and every other form of ideology that dictates oppressive state control to achieve "social equality" which is just another term for everyone being equally miserable.

The "patriots" of the Democrat party are an old breed of those who value lying over everything else. And when caught red handed in lies, when lying about their lying doesn't work their fall back position is "We didn't know so we're just totally incompetent." as if that is acceptable. Like it's really OUR fault because we elected YOU who are indescribably incompetent.

Insidious is the kindest term I can think of to describe the "Patriots" of the Democratic party.

drbj profile image

Hi, Jim. Tsadjatko asked (above) "where are the patriots in the Democratic party?" There are NO patriots among the Dems - only misguided, greedy liberals who enjoy passing legislation so they 'can see what is in it.'

tsadjatko profile image

tsadjatko 3 years ago from maybe (the guy or girl) next door

It was Jon who asked the question, but to say they are misguided is giving them more than the benefit of the doubt. It's like saying they aren't liars, just incompetent. Although being misguided and/or incompetent is usually the result of being a liar make no mistake, they are primarily just natural born liars - that is the one necessary trait to be a leader in the Democrat party and rightly so because they know they can never tell the truth about their beliefs and intentions or they'd never get elected.

BTW LMC - I know you are out there - this isn't bashing, just telling it like it is.

FitnezzJim profile image

tsadjatko is probably on the mark. Most people are reluctant to call others outright deliberate liars. It is too confrontational. We give them the benefit of the doubt, and simply call them incompetent, or misguided. There is a risk that goes with that reluctance. The risk is inaction and failure to accept that the path that is being followed is a deliberate pre-calculated attack that relies on our reluctance to accept that we are being threatened.

The website is sounding the alarm.

That's a most important point and the reason why I follow The Frog Prince. I figured it takes a no nonsense US Army grunt to tell it like it is and Frog hasn't let me down. My father was one and he was also one to despise liars and the tricks they play.

The people to be wary of are the ones reluctant to call out a lie when they see it. The fence sitting enablers who don't want to offend anyone so they turn their head while the most offensive activity of all, the boldface liar stares them in their face...and lies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LhFz4MlTcE

If you don't call a spade a spade when you see it who will know?

When accused by the Pharisees of working miracles by the Devil did Jesus say to them lets all get along and try to find some common ground because you may have misspoke? NO!!! He called a spade a spade...

"You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

"Brood of vipers" he said - looking for a brood of vipers? Try the modern Demoncrap Party my friend and it's time they be condemned by their own words. Remember you heard it here first.

Stu 3 years ago

Jon - "Another huge problem is if your doctor is not in the so-called network." Exactly. This was one of the points I was making. Many young, healthy people will opt out, pay the penalty, and obtain non-comporting insurance. And many businesses will simply drop employee health coverage and pay the optout penalty instead. The optout penalties will not be enough to fully subsidize the cost of Obamacare for the poor receiving premium discounts, the elderly, and the sick with preexisting conditions. Obamacare will also need the embedded profits (over and above the middle class and business premium loads, and the optout taxes) from covering the better risks (businesses and healthy individuals) who will reject Obamacare because it costs too much. The only solution will be to drastically reduce fee caps. That's when primary care doctors will as you say leave the network. They'll refuse to accept Obamacare assignments, charge the patient in full upfront, and file the patient's Obamacare claim electronically. So the patient will be stuck with "balance billing," the difference between what they paid the doctor, and what Obamacare pays the patient (a fee cap much lower than the doctor's fee). The point here is that the group Obamacare was intended to help, the working poor without any medical coverage, won't in substance be covered. Really everyone loses, because employer plans will be canceled en masse due to Obamacare cost (the business premium loads), and middle class individuals will have to settle for less coverage than they have now at much higher cost under Obamacare (without any employer subsidy), or opt out and pay the penalty tax whether or not they obtain non-Obamacare insurance (again, without any employer subsidy).
