Ripe For Impeachment

It's Time...

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, June 9, 2014. Our dear friend, Prayerful Manny, is here with me this morning at the breakfast table. He has asked for the pleasure of your company. Please join Manny and me for a hearty blueberry pancake breakfast and some Irish coffee. Manny believes Congress should man up and begin impeachment proceedings. Come on over and we'll talk about it.

It's Just Criminal

Welcome, my dear human family. I am of the opinion that it is time for your President Obama to pack up his belongings and hit the road. I don't think your nation can withstand any more of his "change". I doubt even his most ardent supporters thought that the "change" President Obama promised would involve trashing the Constitution and usurping the powers of Congress. If those who gave him support knew it would come to this and were okay with it, they are guilty, as well.

Let me lay out just few of the reasons I believe impeachment should be in the President's future. Your President Obama committed fraud when he willfully and knowingly lied to the American people about the Affordable Care Act. He stood before all of you and told you that if you liked your coverage you could keep your coverage. He stood before you and told you that if you liked your doctor, you could keep your doctor. He lied to you.

President Obama amended, on his own accord, the ACA so many times that he violated the Constitution once again.

Just a few days ago, he violated a law he signed six months ago which required him to notify Congress 30 days before releasing GITMO detainees.

President Obama knowingly and willfully released five dangerous terrorists from GITMO knowing full well that they would return to terror and endanger us again.

President Obama failed to provide security to U.S. personnel in Benghazi, Libya despite pleas for assistance. He and those who support him willfully lied to the American people about the Benghazi terror attack. The Obama administration has been accused of running an illegal gun running operation out of the Consulate which provided weapons to al-Qaeda terrorists in Syria. Your President Obama wages war all by himself. He makes bold hasty decisions without consulting Congress. He has trashed Congress, the Constitution and you.

Thus far, it has been a very long and dangerous six years under the Obama administration. Under his leadership, agencies such as the EPA and the IRS have been granted powers so wide-sweeping that they have been given a free hand to intimidate American citizens.

President Obama's actions have placed you all in grave danger and it is time for Congress to step up to the plate and do something. Let's be honest, it is way past time for Congress to act.

A Peach of an Idea

President Obama has usurped the powers of all three branches of government. Your nation no longer runs the way it was designed to function. I don't think you can afford to let this lawlessness go on much longer. So much damage has already been done that by the time President Obama's term is finished your country will be unrecognizable and damaged beyond repair. It is time to bring impeachment charges against this president.

Now for the big question. Will Congress have the guts to stop the Obama reign of terror? Thus far I have seen precious little evidence that this bunch in Washington has the will to do anything. If they did have the best interests of the American people in mind, something would have been done long before you were six years into this presidency.

It's Time...

The only way this runaway administration will have its wings clipped is if you, the people, bombard your representatives and insist they actually represent you. So far they have been looking out for their own partisan behinds and the story is getting old and dangerous. The Constitution might not mean anything to Congress, but it must mean something to you if your nation is going to survive. The impetus lies with you. Congress will not act on its own. It's time to say good-bye....

Prayerful Manny's Song

The moment I wake up

Before I primp my wings

I say a little prayer for you...

Prayerful Manny - I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but impeachment is just not going to happen.

Nobody in office at this time is willing to start impeachment proceedings against the first black President of this country. Doing so would end their political careerers forever, and they would carry the dreaded racist label for the rest of their lives.

If this President were to be impeached, there would be race riots that would make the Watts riots look like a childs birthday party. Not because they support what this President has done or is doing, but because he is black.

I know you find this hard to believe, but that is just the way it works these days. This administration has done more to further divide the people of this country by race and economic status than any other administration in history.

We can only hope there will be enough left that can be saved when this President ends his term and leaves office. Whoever follows this President has his or her work cut out for them.

Now for the big question. Will Congress have the guts to stop the Obama reign of terror?

No.

And even if they did impeach him, it will drag out until near end of his term, so he serves his whole term, just like Bill Clinton did. And, after he is out of office, he'll still receive all the benefits a former President receives - just like Bill Clinton does.... round the clock secret service protection, all his health benefits and much more.

Hilary as Obama cabinet member receives benefits like Congress has except as wife of former President, she gets round the clock secret service protection too.

Will Congress act on impeaching Obama? Even if they do, it doesn't matter one bit. Impeaching doesn't mean a thing anymore. They still get benefits and that part isn't right.

Dear human friend Mike,

I suppose you are right. I had better get busy praying even harder for your nation. You still have a ways to go with this lawless president and the future looks like it is going to be more of the same. Honestly, considering all the harm he has done and is doing from immigration to terror, I believe this mess will never be fixed. I'll see you at the Inn. Breakfastpop needs the company of good friends and so do I.

POP: Along with Congress being silent, nothing will be done until the voice of the people demand it. If the people demand it, the media will be forced to report on it; Congress will be forced to look at it. Whle I somewhat agree with Old Poolman that they will try to turn this into a race issue, the focus must be on Obama's actions; not his color, which people forget that he is half white. Off to the bar.....

Pop and Manny,

I agree with your position but sadly I also agree that congress has gone way past irrelevant. I'd like to see a boycott of Nevada until our fellow citizens there git rid of Dirty Harry as they should have done in 2010.

Good Morning Rachael,

I understand what you are saying, but Obama is out of control at this point. If Congress can't stop him or slow him down, he will release all the terrorists in GITMO, invite all of Mexico into Arizona, convert us to a single payor health system, bail out the insurance companies, bankrupt the coal industry and cripple all other sources of energy except for windmills, degrade our nation to the world and make sure that our children's children grow up under a heaping pile of debt. There's more but I'll save that for the Inn. See you later.

Good Morning Pino,

It would be wise for the "people" to forget about Obama's color and concentrate on his intentions. Suffice to say they aren't honorable. By the time he gets done changing us we will be a pathetic country with socialism deeply entrenched. I'll see you at the Inn. I may order a peach martini!

Good Morning Tom,

I would be happy to stay away from Nevada. People who thought it a good idea to put Harry back in Washington are not to be trusted. I think I'll scratch off San francisco while I'm at it. Perhaps I ought to avoid Washington D.C. like the plague, t as well. I'll see you at the Inn.

The problem with impeachment, and I say this in all honesty, is if you open that door then we will be impeaching every single president from now on. The best form of impeachment is the election process. Anyway, as always, I love your passion.

Good Morning billybuc,

Obama may be the exception to that thought process. He has discarded the rule of law so many times that he deserves impeachment, big time. Of course, it won't happen, but he deserves it.

Good Morning Brie,

Without hope, we have nothing. See you at the Inn.

I thought he should have been impeached around noon time on January 20, 2009. The congress has no guts. The people have no guts. The morons put this bum in office in 2008 AND again in 2012. Not enough people speak out. Not enough are smart enough to understand what is going on. So, we all get screwed. Pray for a miracle.

breakfastpop profile image

Good Morning taxlarry,

Great commentary! At this point, if we can't get Congress to act, all we have is prayer and a new election. See you at the Inn.

What Mike (Old Poolman) said.

There's also no chance that the required 2/3's of the Senate would vote to convict Obama. We're stuck with him, and he knows it.

Dear Will,

I get that, I really do. But, having said that, I would still love to see the process begin. It just might slow down his rapid movement when it comes to the dismantling of our nation. Not only that, but he deserves to have impeachment proceedings become part of his legacy. See you at the Inn.

Without a doubt Obama is guilty of several impeachable offensess, but I doubt it will happen for several reasons. Fist he will use the race card as he has done in the past. In my opinion he has set race realtoions back 25 years. Dirty Harry won't even let the Senate have a conversation while he and his relatives are making a fotune on the pipeline that will never be put in during this administration. Perhaps after the election if the Republicans control the Senate something can be done. Then, there is Holder - no more to say there.

I am glad Manny has a prayer and we probably should all be praying something happens to stop this egomanic. Well, I'm headed the the inn now - see you there

Dear Pamela,

As long as the Senate is controlled by the Dems, impeachment will never happen. Even so, I think Obama deserves to have to endure the proceedings. Even if he isn't impeached, and of course he won't be, the process will be a part of his legacy. He deserves nothing less. See you at the Inn.

Well The Messiah told us if congress won't agree with him he'll do it himself, without them. So what's the big surprise he didn't notify congress?

I agree with Billy Buc, the voters get what they vote for and until they are fixed by the reality of the results of their stupid, uninformed choices and vote intelligently this country is doomed. Impeachment won't change that fact.

And if the majority of people will vote against your party for attempting to impeach a black president, despite obvious criminal actions, well then I guess anyone could correctly say America IS a racist country.

Obama did lie about raising taxes on the middle class, and my health insurance has doubled thanks to ACA. So other than having to look at your bug while I'm eating my lunch I suppose you have made some worthwhile points. But I do stand with billybuc in saying that every president has committed some impeachable acts, so do we really want to go there?

breakfastpop profile image

Dear tsadjatko,

I'm a voter, you're a voter and we don't deserve to be punished because others are complete fools. By the time these people realize the mess Obama has imposed on them, our country will be a third world nation. I'm off to the Inn. I'll save you a seat.

breakfastpop profile image

breakfastpop 2 years ago Author

Dear Mel,

I have to say that Obama makes other presidents, including Nixon, look like choir boys. He'll never be impeached but a good old fashioned try wouldn't hurt. It also might occupy him for a bit, so he won't have time to completely "change" our nation. Thanks for coming to the breakfast table. You have hurt Chiquita's feelings, but she forgives you.

WillStarr profile image

WillStarr 2 years ago from Phoenix, Arizona

Old poolman Mike is right (he does that a lot!). No one wants to be called a racist, and they surely would be if they initiated impeachment procedures against the nation's first black president.

The sad thing is, the Obama experience may poison the well against future black candidates, and that would be very unfair to some very capable people.

breakfastpop profile image

breakfastpop 2 years ago Author

Dear Will,

I don't feel the same way. I would vote for Dr. Ben Carson in a New York Minute. We should be able to get beyond race at this point. After all, it was white America who elected Obama. Enough is enough. This is all so tiring.

WillStarr profile image

WillStarr 2 years ago from Phoenix, Arizona

Exactly. I too would vote for Dr. Carson, and there nothing racist about our views. The real racism is coming from the liberal Democrats who believe all blacks owe them their allegiance.

Old Poolman profile image

Old Poolman 2 years ago from Rural Arizona

Add my vote to that list. I would love to see Dr. Carson step in and clean up this mess. I believe many others feel the same way but I doubt that he will get much support from any incumbents as he would expose them for what they are.

Dr. Carson would most likely insist they start doing their jobs and that will never happen. Doing real work would take far too much time away from stealing tax-payer money, taking bribes from lobbyists, building bridges to nowhere in their own states, and acting important.

Nothing is going to change until we get people to the polls and to weed out some of the trash we have collected over the years.

At one point I think a small group in congress started impeachment proceedings but didn't get far and it was dropped. I'm thinking it was after the ACA stuff, but not sure. Impeachment will not get him out. It is only one step in the process of getting him out. Like someone else said, if they started even now, it would not likely depose him before his term is up.

Good Morning Mel,

You must think I'm crazy. The bug I mentioned was Chiquita. Sorry about that, but I do have an excuse. I had just finished writing another Hub and Chiquita was the star. In any event, Manny had his feelings hurt, but he forgives you!

Good Morning Will,

You are right, of course. Just look how hard our esteemed president and attorney general work to keep the race issue alive and smoldering. See you at the Inn later.

breakfastpop profile image

Good Morning Mike,

I agree. The trick is going to be to get people to the polls who actually know what is at stake. I venture to say, despite polls showing otherwise, a great many people are uninformed and don't care. See you later at the Inn.
