How To Recycle

How to recycle-Furnish your house almost for free !

Would you like to know how to recycle and  furnish your house for free ? Lounge - friidge etc ?!

Yes that's true , I would have taken photos of the furniture , tv , microwave etc I had for free if I had known about hub pages then to show you the beautiful furniture and kitchen items I had free !

I will tell you the struggle to get the item home sometimes and I do wish I had a photo of me riding home & traveling on a train with a microwave on the back of my bike !!

I received some strange looks , however it was worth it as it worked !!

One night I got home late from work so tired and was surprised to see 2 blue 2 seater couches outside ! In good condition, as I was on my own it took a while but they looked good in my lounge as well as the lovely wooden coffee table and the TV with big FREE sign on !

So as tired as I want I pushed and pulled the couches upstairs where they looked good !

In Australia there are collection days where people put out unused items , a lot of beds, fridges -- you name it so often people drive around collecting items for themselves or to resell .

I had fun and games getting various items home yet it was worth it as they were Free and in good condition !

The one time I found a microwave outside a house & took it on the back of my bike to the train station & on not one but 2 trains home where I was relieved to see it worked after that effort!

How to Recycle books , magazines

When you have finished with your books, mags dont throw them out , there could be a hospital / old age home nearby that would love them , or a school for an upcoming market.A caravan park, doctors rooms or even a neighbor .

An op shop will always take them to resell to raise money.

Look in the paper or online

In some papers and online there is a section called Free Items where as long as you will pick it up and be first there you get the item for free so its worth looking into and helps with the recycling.

Gumtree has a free section and I have seen others !

Visit a fleamarket !

There are some really good fleamarkets around the country where you can get everything really cheap.

I buy books from 50 cents , lovely items of clothes from 50 cents up to $8 depending on what it is.

Have had some great bargains and have sold at fleamarkets myself .

Near the end they are often giving things away to avoid repacking the car so keep a watch out !

Organise a swap meet

There are many places where people get together and swap items that they dont want or need anymore yet are still in great condition and very useful for others to use .

You can often find these online

My new bike !

The bike I had bought years ago at a garage sale for $20 had a flat tyre last week so while in Geraldton we visited a bike shop to try get  a new tyre.

They wer out of the size I wanted and it was reccomended we try the tip shop !

There for $15 we bought a bike with 2 good tyres and a drink bottle holder !

It is a newer model than the one I had and the gears work better as well !!
