Shame On Mr. Obama and our Lawmakers

Shame on Mr. Obama and the Democrats

APRIL 12, 2011

Have those lugheads in Washington no conscience? Have they no morals or scruples?

Oh, the GOP managed to pass a 2011 budget, and at least Harry Reid and his ilk decided those “extreme” cuts the GOP wanted weren’t all too extreme suddenly. When a true shut-down of the federal government loomed, those “extreme” cuts that Reid and Chuck Schumer (who was caught spouting the Dem "talking points") apparently lost their extremity. How the heck did that happen?

The fact that any tax dollars are still spent in the remaining months of 2011 for the slaughter of pre-born babies, i.e. Planned Parenthood and NPR and other such despicable liberal projects is absolutely disguting.

Yet even more appalling is the fact Mr. Obama walked around a Washington tourist attraction shaking hands and taking credit for the awesome visit these people were able to have. Why if it wasn’t for him – he touted – the attraction would have shut down!

Yep, it's because of your amazing leadership Mr. Obama that the 2011 budget was passed.

Is someone kidding me? Is someone playing a very late April Fools joke? Under his watch for two years with him as the leader, the White House, the Congress and Senate all were in complete control of the Democrats. Yet none of these clueless yokels were able to even pass a budget for 2011. It was left until after the November 2010 elections to elect some adults who actually managed to pass a budget that should have been passed under the Dem's watch.

Yet the Democrats had the audacity to try and block the 2011 budget that passed Congress. They used their lovely “talking points” as directed by Chuck Schumer and called the budget that was presented to the Senate “extreme.”

As I write this, do you realize my son who in July 2010 returned from Afghanistan, and who was shot at, dodged attempts to blow him up, who witnessed the aftermath of the Taliban in villages where they slaughtered women and children and left them naked in piles in the middle of the street – might not have gotten paid .

My daughter-in-law Kristen checks a webs site that allows service members to check their pay status. Does anyone reading this realize their pay shows as only half a paycheck due to the near shut-down of the federal government? Does anyone realize IT IS STILL SHOWING THEY WILL ONLY BE PAID HALF PAY AS I WRITE THIS?

The GOP better not celebrate. Their cuts don’t cut it – as it were. It’s a whisper in the wind because the cuts don’t do a single thing to our deficit or our debt for 2011 because our federal government and lawmakers are still giving money away to worthless and despicable organizations like NPR, Planned Parenthood. Oh and also into great schemes like ethanol production.

Yes, hundreds of millions of dollars was spent in the attempt to turn ethanol into fuel before they realized, the geniuses who received this obscene amount of money don't know how to turn ethanol fuel into something that can be used as fuel.

Before you go shaking hands and taking credit for my son not getting a paycheck Mr. Obama, you should be cowering in a corner ashamed of yourself for never giving leadership that would have secured a 2011 budget so my son and his nine month pregnant wife wouldn't have to worry if they have a paycheck for the pending birth of their second child.

There are soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan right this minute. That they had to think for even one second, their family back in the states might not have money for groceries and diapers is truly one of the most despicable things our U.S. government has ever done in recent history.

The fact Mr. Obama has no shame about not having the guts to lead his Democratically controlled Congress and Senate into making a 2011 budget is beyond disgusting. How dare he shake hands and brag about himself as if he did something!

This budget wasn’t passed until we got a few men and women, who just happened to be Republicans by the way, in control of Congress! I can not believe Mr. Obama claims his leadership paved the way for this recent passing of the 2011 budget.

Is the American public truly that stupid to fall for this utter nonsense? One can only nope not.

Shame on Mr. Obama, Nancy Pelosi and all the Democrats who for two years controlled Congress yet couldn't pass a 2011 budget. And shame on Harry Reid for not immediately passing the 2011 budget passed by the now Republican controlled Congress in the face of a government shut down.

I am convinced Mr. Obama, Harry Reid and the Democratic party, as it stands now, have no soul.

Vote Mr. Obama and all of these self-serving, lying louts out in 2012!

Obama is not a sell-out. He has done precisely what he promised to do during the campaign. Except for lying about closing Gitmo and lying about sun-setting the Patriot Act, he's been true to his stump speeches.

None of this mess should be a surprise to anyone. It's not as if Candidate Obama masqueraded as a conservative or even a centrist.

Voted up Carol. I think anyone who even had the fleeting thought of classifying our military as nonessential should be charged with treason. Despicable indeed. Obama is about as low down, dirty and deluded as they get. I hope and pray this country realizes just how toxic he is for America over the next year and a half and votes his and his sick minions hind ends out.

Well I didn't vote for him and actually nicomp - he made promises that he never kept as well as the ones you mentioned that are relevant as well. He promised he'd keep unemployment at less than 8% if we let him do his economic magic. So what did he do instead? Obsessed about a health care bill no one wanted and it certainly didn't create any jobs.

While he didn't promise to pass a budget, the Congress and Senate have to and they didn't under Obama's watch, for the 2011 budget. That's the LEAST Obama should have done - was lead his Democratic congress to a 2011 budget so the federal government can do what it's supposed to do. Spend our money recklessly...

He also promised that unemployement would not exceed 8% IF his historic $787 BILLION stimulus bill would pass...

He was also going to build a bridge to connect the congrss...but, he then told the repubs to get out of the way...

I believe he also would NOT have had another budget in place....had it not been for the tea party crowd.

Excellent hub cjv!!

Keep it coming...

You're right, Carol, they have no soul, no conscience and not a clue about the true nature of our problem. Our president is a fraud elected by people who didn't give a fig about electing a man with experience and integrity. They wanted to elect a

black" man so they could feel good about themselves. One speech was all they needed. Shame on them. I think you should have to get a license to vote. Voted up and awesome.

Up and Awesome Carol, If you took all these "cuts" and wrapped in a wool blanket and shoved it up an ants butt, compared to the cuts that are needed, it would still roll around like a bb in a boxcar.

Today we find out almost half of it was smoke and mirrors; and for that they put our troops pay at risk! This goes well beyond the leadership fraud I've been talking about for the last year and a half, it goes to a fundamental antipathy for those who serve. Damn them all.

Obama's failed stimulus actually cost us a cool trillion dollars when the interest is added.

What bothers me more than anything is not that Obama is taking credit for this drop-in-the-bucket budget cut, but that so many Americans are actually giving him and the Democrats credit for what Republicans did!

It was a CNN poll:

"Overall, Americans give Obama and congressional Democrats more credit for making the deal happen, with 48 percent of those surveyed crediting them for the deal. Congressional Republicans, meanwhile, get the credit from 35 percent of those surveyed. Another 11 percent credited both sides equally."

I agree with you, but I also think that the problem is the SYSTEM that is the core of politics including Congress and the President.

This system works for any combination of democrat and republicans, the output of the system is only diverted to the left or the right. The problem is that the people are in the center and they only receive the occaisional overspray.

As an example, take the reliance of foreign oil. This problem flared during the 1970s with two oil scam scares. And it really doesn't matter whether the oil scare was real or a scam because none of the congresses or the presidents since that time even attempted to find a solution. So today we are only one tiny step away from the conditions in the 1970s.

My point is that neither democrat nor republican cares because they follow the system and not the needs and will of the people.

Of course the voters are also guilty because they keep electing the same politicians.

Unless the SYSTEM is changed there will be no progress for the country.

As for the budget cuts of 60 Billion dollars, that is only 6 percent of a Trillion Dollars, but are deficit is around 15 Trillion Dollars. That would make it .4%.

Right now most consumers are paying 8 to 10% in state sales tax. Not that there is a relation between it and the federal cuts, but the feds could have at least cut the budget by at least 8 to 10%.

Think of congress as a riderless dog sled, and the dogs do what they want. So the leftie dogs pull to the left, while the rightie dogs pull to the right. So basically the sled goes to the left or to the right, unless the impossible happens where the left and the right have equal number of dogs, or the dogs meet at the middle.

my opinion..~:}

Great post Carol. I agree with every word of it. The problem is that Obama's becoming completely unhinged, and Congress is frozen stiff with fear. As ugly as it would have been, a shutdown might not have been a bad thing. It wouldn't get us immediate passage of the Ryan bill, but Rand Paul's $500 billion in cuts might have had a slight chance if enough of a crisis atmosphere was present. The problem is that every time they kick the can down the road, all sense of urgency disappears. Stu

To clarify, under the HCR law (obamacare), federal funds are banned from being used for abortions. This was an executive order by Obama. I'm also confused why you would call NPR 'despicable'? Have you listened to NPR? In any case, they are almost exclusively listener funded, they only get $5 million from the federal govt which is a very small portion of their actual operating budget. Time and time again I have challenged 'anti-npr' people to present a transcript from any show on NPR that shows bias towards one party. I have yet to see a single example. Besides, NPR reports on politics about 10% of the time, the other 90% is all sorts of weird and fascinating stories about life, nature, business, etc.

I do agree that it was despicably that the TEA party was calling for the shutdown of govt (and excited about it). I think they should be calling for the compromise of Dems and Republicans that benefits the people...right?

NPR is run by liberals who support Muslim terrorists - didn't you see the video? The Dude was fired, but he never one time in his entire conversation implied he WAS NOT speaking for NPR. Especially when he talked about programing favoring Jews. OH NO - never at NPR, quite the opposite. Out of the guy's own lips! While, mind you, he sat with the silent (on the undercover video) the President of NPR. So please - give me a break if you don't believe the entire NPR organization is run by liberals who support liberal agenda. I.E. - hate the Jews - support Muslims even if it means they are terrorists.

How about Nina Totenburg? She openly expresses her passionate liberal beliefs. Her rant about Jesse Helms is oozing with conservative charm? "I think he ought to be worried about what's going on in the Good Lord's mind, because if there is retributive justice, he'll get AIDS from a transfusion, or one of his grandchildren will get it."

Lovely - but quite typical of liberals no less liberals at NPR.

Read more: http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/brent-baker/2010/...

The firing of Juan Williams debacle - another clear example of their liberals bias and hypocrisy. Their "standards" only apply when it comes to a liberal speaking on Fox News, but it's OK to wish the death of a Senator. That's up to their standards.

It is liberally run - that's a fact. I charge you the opposite - it's up to you to prove my assertion as it is now a known fact NPR leans heavily - if not entirely liberal.

Take these issues: pro-choice or pro-life. You show ME a transcript where they cover BOTH equally. Show me a pro-life program. Even one.

Give me one example of this organization showing a positive example of George Bush's administration.

Give me one example of a broadcast/transcript showing reasons why the United States should support Israel.

Give me one example/transcript showing why traditional marriage should be upheld.

Only $5 million? You are just the kind of person I don't want in Washington and we are slowly but surely rooting these people out. EVERY DIME COUNTS WHEN YOU CAN'T PAY ALL YOUR BILLS. When your debt is so huge, so insurmountable, you get your house in order and STOP SPENDING. Every million, EVERY DIME counts. If it's such wonderful programing, let people like YOU pay for it. But leave my money out of it completely. There is ZERO reason NPR or Public Television should get one dime of tax payer money. There isn't one logical reason in the world with the advent of cable television and the internet.

Stu From VT 5 years ago

LRC,

Obamacare did mark a significant expansion of abortion. It violates a critical plank of the "Hyde Amendment principles:" no federal funding of insurance plans that provide abortions. The state exchanges established under Obamacare will certainly include plans that cover abortion. These plans will receive federal subsidies, thus violating Hyde principles. The meaningless "restriction" against abortion in the HC law is that the subsidies go to the insurance provider, not the individual, and that the abortions are paid for from a pool established by mandatory monthly payments by insurees. And even this restriction lapses if Hyde itself is not renewed (it is subject to yearly renewal). Beyond this, there are virtually no restrictions on abortion in Obamacare. Funding streams such as those through Community Health Centers were thus unaffected; while that particular problem was addressed in Obama’s executive order, the order failed to address anything else. Thus, in the end, Obamacare will fund ALOT of abortions.

In the wake of National Public Radio's absurd firing of news analyst Juan Williams, a lot of Republicans are calling for NPR to have its federal funding cut. Washington ought to have defunded NPR (and the Public Broadcasting System) long ago. If the Juan Williams firing is a catalyst for that, good. Williams said while on FOX News "The O'Reilly Factor" that he gets fearful if he's on an airplane and sees someone in "Muslim garb." NPR summarily fired him, even though he said on the same program that Americans should not suspect all Muslims of being terrorists. Williams' firing is just another in a long line of instances illustrating NPR's reactionary (read liberal) political correctness. NPR executives have in fact been caught on tape bashing conservatives and the Tea Party, and touting liberals. But even if NPR were politically neutral, it still ought to be stripped of public funding. We have a fiscal crisis, and NPR is not an essential government service. According to NPR, it gets only about 2 percent of its funding from the federal government anyway. That being so, NPR should easily be able to scale back a tiny bit or sell some ads to compensate.

Frog, CJV,

Are we cool or what?

Stu

cjv123 profile image

cjv123 5 years ago from Michigan Author

We be cool Stu, we be VERY cool! Know why? We're conservatives - we deal with the facts and most of us anyway - want to know the facts. EVEN IF it isn't what we want the facts to be, even if it doesn't agree with our religious or political convictions, we still want the facts. And that's what I deal in. What is that saying? Hack off a conservative, lie to them, hack off a liberal, tell them the truth (show them the facts).

I've seen this time and time again. Two cases in point - a liberal wrote to me after 9/11 and we went into Iraq. She said, "How can you support the military at all when MOST COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD are not with us in this conflict?"

Then I went to the CNN web site at the time and promptly gave her a list of every single civilized country to include uncivilized country that supported our effort and how they supported. For example (at the time) Germany allowed us to use any base for our operations. Money from another country etc. The list was very long and at the end of it I asked, "So with this list, which ones DON'T support us?"

She wrote back, "I'm not going to get into this with you (even though as is typical, she as the liberal started it by baiting me, not the other way around) as I can see this will lead, 'no where.'" Yeah, right - I give you the facts and prove what a dope you are and you see this going nowhere all of a sudden.

The best one thus far though - it's SO easy to trip up a liberal it's almost a shame to do it - was a guy who explained in the comments of one of my Hubs, as to why he voted for Obama. He was polite so I didn't hammer him when he said that the cost of the military and the war was the greatest expense for our federal budget. I told him - politely, because he really was a rare polite and actually quite articulate young man - that he was mistaken. I gave him the link as in - gov.org - to the federal budget. I gave him the exact page that proved him wrong. Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security etc. was by far, the largest piece of our federal budget pie and has been for many years and I showed him the federal government website to prove it.

His answer?

"Anyone can crunch the numbers and make them say what they want."

I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! I reminded him this was the website of HIS GUY but he would not be deterred from his position of his head in the sand.

Oh, and that liberal who baited me? A few months down the road she included me in her list of people she was ranting about the war to, and again repeated NO COUNTRIES WERE SUPPORTING OUR EFFORTS.

I asked her to take me off of her email list. I can not suffer fools any longer. Life is way too short.

Show a liberal some facts and they turn the other cheek and ignore the facts to stay with the made-up ones of their own. It's SO very typical.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I haven't been a good Hub friend as I am here in Seattle visiting my granddaughter and son and daughter-in-law. But when I can I'll jump on your Hubs. This forum is different because here they seem intent on trolling around using the vote down button. They are generally cowards when faced with facts. Many times when they do come on a thread they immediately go off topic and into a frenzy about Bush or Republicans or some such nonsense.

The trolling though needs to be dealt with by the forum moderators rather than continue to give it a nod and a wink.

This is truly what is like when politicians start playing mind games with the public. I find both sides of the aisle despicable on this occasion. The democrats are long remiss in their budget duties and the republicans were only given lipservice in what the CBO now says might amount to a little over 800 million in actual cuts for the 2011 budget. This is a political drama carried out to save all their sorry asses and needs to be recognized for what it is. As taxpayers, we have been lied to, cheated, robbed, conned, and literally knifed in the back for years now and it must stop and it must stop with the exit of Obama and all like him from office. A vote for these folks is nothing more than a wish to head deeper into the dark levels of socialsim and one more nail in the coffin which George Soros wants to be build for America. All of the links you posted about abortions are to conservative blogs and not actual news organizations. That would be no different than quoting one of my blogs as facts. Just because a blogger writes it does not make it fact. I can certainly be bias in my opinion, I'm not a journalist.

NPR does not do 'pro Bush' or 'Pro life' or 'Pro Conservative' stories. They are journalist. They cover the topic and then have experts from both sides debate. They do not show bias toward either side.

Recent abortion coverage from a story a few weeks ago shows opinions from both sides: http://www.npr.org/2011/03/25/134855087/in-south-d...

Just a simple news clip that sets up the story, then provides quotes from pro life and pro choice people.

In any case, conservatives have to stop making everything about 'winning.' It's not Republican vs Democrat. It really should be about the people having control over their government. Neither party has served the people well.

Stu From VT 5 years ago

LRCBlogger,

The people have control over the government, but only to the extent of who they elect. The reason we have such lousy federal governance is because we the people are too scared to elect real patiots who will vacate and defund federal violations of enumerated powers, cut spending and raise taxes so we can pay off the official debt, phase out the big federal social programs so we can tear up most of the federal debt securities they hold that we can never even hope to pay off, etc.

If you want good government, then you need to elect tough, patriotic leaders who will implement draconian fiscal reform, interpret all law construcionistly (strictly per framer intent), and support free markets by eliminating wasteful regulations, business subsidies, and non-retaliatory tariffs.

The issue is that we the people WANT nirvana, but we NEED austerity, so we at least have a tiny chance of solving the debt crisis before it becomes so big it can't be solved with any level of restraint. We keep kicking the can to future generations. If we want there to even be a future for America, we have to take the caster oil NOW.
