Chiquita is at the Table

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, November 23, 2015. Our noisy friend, Cicada Chiquita, dropped in this morning with breakfast and an observation. Chiquita is providing all the poppers with peach muffins smothered in melted butter. I will be preparing the lattes. Please join us for breakfast. If you are as sick of being lied to as Chiquita and I are, you'll want to stop by. We hope to see you soon.

The Donald is Telling the Truth

Donald Trump claims that thousands of people in New Jersey were cheering when the Towers went down. He made an appearance on ABC's "This Week" and repeated his claim. The New York Slimes jumped on the story and referred to his claims as an internet rumor. The Slimes referred to the rumor that thousands of Muslims were cheering in the streets of Paterson, New Jersey. Well, my dear friends, Trump knows what he is talking about. Although the MSM was reluctant to broadcast this ugly display, it did happen. My son-in-law was in Paterson, New Jersey during the celebration of death. He was so sick to his stomach that he phoned the media hoping to get coverage of the sight of men, women and children dancing in the streets. The truth is in short supply these days. The truth is under attack by the MSM, the White House, the Democrats, religious leaders and the blind fools who seem to enjoy the lies. Yes, the Muslims were ecstatic over the news that thousands died in the attack on the World Trade Center. Articles are now appearing that attempt to dismiss Trump's claims as fabrications. The only fabrications are the denials of politicians who have turned lying into an art form.

The Dangerous Refugee Crisis

President Obama has taken every opportunity to call out Americans and Republicans for wanting to err on the side of caution with regard to the flood of refugees headed for our shores, The president has painted those that want to slow the process down and make it safer as horrible people without empathy and values. Coming from the least empathetic person in the world, his words are riddled with lies and distortions. There is nothing benign in this movement out of Syria into the West. Higrah is the Islamic doctrine of migration. It is considered to be a stealth form of jihad. Emigrating for Allah is thought to be a highly regarded act. In February, an ISIS fighter confirmed our worst fears. ISIS was and is using the refugee crisis to bring Muslim fighters into Western nations. President Obama and other Western leaders who have decided to allow the refugees in to their countries are playing with fire. The solution lies with creating a safe haven for these people in the Middle East. That seems a more doable idea than vetting thousands upon thousands of people who have no records supporting their assertions.

False Claims

Hillary Clinton is a consummate liar. She tells a lie and her supporters buy into it hook line and sinker. They never question the Queen. In her last debate, Clinton took on the issue of gun violence and gun control. She needed to spout out tons of stats to impress her already adoring fans, so she went into her bag of lies and said the following. She told her small but rapt audience that since her last debate in Las Vegas, 3000 people have been killed by guns. She added to the lie by stating that 200 children have also been killed during this time period. She topped off her assertions by insisting that there have been 21 mass shootings during the small time frame she is referring to. The problem is that the facts don't support her claims at all. Her figures are completely exaggerated and her explanation for the discrepancy is that she was stating statistics from 2010 and 2013. The fact that she emphatically told her audience that the statistics were fresh and true is just an inconvenient truth. If 3,000 people were shot down in a month, the tragedy didn't get any coverage. Considering the MSM and the WH want to confiscate our guns, an event of this magnitude should have made headlines. Her lies are insulting. It is clear that she feels her followers are gullible idiots who swallow every lying morsel that pops from her mouth. I'm sick of the liars and the lies. It's time to make some noise!

I'm Chiquita Cicada and I'm here to say

I wish the liars would just go away!

Pop and Chiquita,

Politicians have been free and easy with the truth forever but it used to be that they attempted to spin so that they could have a reasonable explanation for their prevarications. Now the whopper of the day is a badge of courage to these scofflaws.

Chiquita and Patti - There is nothing at all I could add regarding this hub. We are facing the most serious threat to this nation I have seen in my nearly 80 years on this planet. And our leaders, the MSM, and the liberals are just ignoring the situation and hoping it will go away. They not only ignore it, they lie about it and refuse to believe even when presented with concrete facts such as video's.

We are in a position where we need the strongest leadership we have ever had, and our Commander in Chief doesn't view this as a serious threat. Allowing thousands of refugees into this country is truly a recipe for disaster. I am not saying they are all bad, but there is a percentage of them who are really bad people with no regard for human life. They have been raised knowing their mission in life is to kill all those who do not follow their religion.

Rather than trying to implement even more gun controls, our government should be providing guns and training to qualified civilians to make our country less appealing to these terrorists. We have a huge number of already trained veterans whom have already put their lives on the line for this country and would be more than willing to do it again.

When the pieces all fall into place it would appear we are doing everything we can to just hand our country over to these radical terrorist groups. It will be interesting and frightening to see what the outcome will be.

Sorry for the rant but my frustration is showing.

Nothing ever changes. I am hoping the next president will turn us in the right direction and have at least some modicum of integrity, although pure integrity would be my plea. I think we have a few hopefuls.

Your son's experience in Paterson goes a long way in evidence of the truth.

All refugees must be properly vetted. Period. That being said, I feel that many Syrians just want to escape the terror of the Asaad regime, and are not intent on harming others. The problem with Muslims as I see it, is that they seem to have little desire to assimilate into any other cultures other than their own. Consequently, they isolate themselves, and this isolation breeds unrest. They are just very, very different from Americans and most Europeans. France is paying a big price for this "lack of assimilation." For example, in Paris, there are neighborhoods where the police will not enter. It's just too dangerous. The Muslims there are demanding more and more rights and they are extremely dangerous. Sometimes they stop traffic or normal crowds by stopping to praying in the street with no regard for other people's lives. The middle eastern people are just a whole different animal---so to speak. That being said, I like to believe that they can assimilate into a society somewhat, given more educational opportunities, but they must not being given special privileges. So, it's all very complicated, but I do feel for refugees who have been uprooted from their homes.

Furthermore, I despise Obama for failing to provide the Syrian fighters with weapons---or something. Had he done so, we wouldn't have this crises now.

As for Hillary, she knows full well that her followers will do zero checking on her statements. The woman is a consummate liar. I cannot stand the sight of her, frankly.

The punishment for those who leave the Muslim religion is death so that would make it difficult for them to assimilate. They are almost forced to stay to themselves and their own kind for fear others would even think they are leaving their faith.

Their beliefs are so opposite ours that assimilating into our culture will most likely never happen for many. They now have their no-go zones even in this country where law enforcement is not allowed to enter. They have this same privilege in several places in Europe. Why any US State governor would allow this to happen in their state is beyond my ability to understand.

It would seem we truly have lost our way in this country.

Old Poolman....speaking of not being able to assimilate, now the "clock boy" and his parents are suing the city for $15 million, and they are supposedly moving to Quatar due to "fear for their lives." What rubbish. Nevertheless, I still won't put all refugees in the same boat. No pun intended. Still, I maintain the vetting process is crucial, yet even then, this sort of craziness happens....and therein lies the challenge for the U.S. and European nations.

When it comes to Syrian refugees do you know what the process for vetting them is? The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees determines who counts as a refugee, who should be resettled (about 1 percent) and which countries would take them. This can take four to 10 months.

Once the cases are referred to the United States, refugees are vetted through a process that involves multiple federal intelligence and security agencies.

Typically, about half of refugees are approved, according to the State Department.

What does that tell you about the UN?

Refugees undergo several rounds of security clearance checks. Their names, biographical information and fingerprints are run through databases coordinated by the FBI, the State Department, the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense.

For Syrian refugees, there’s one additional step. THEIR FILINGS WITH THE UN AND INITIAL DOCUMENTS submitted to the U.S. program are reviewed. Information about where they came from, what caused them to flee and what their experiences were like are cross-referenced with classified and unclassified information.

PAY ATTENTION: "Their filings with the UN and initial documents..."

And where does the UN get those filings and documents?

Are you comfortable with the UN obtaining (from the refugees) all the filings and documents we then use for further vetting, determining who counts as a refugee, who should be resettled and which countries should take them?

I'm not.

Good Morning savvy dating,

We simply are not equipped to vet these people trying to enter our country. They are not arriving with papers that tell their life story, so essentially we are dancing in the dark. Will their be people among them who want to harm America? The answer is yes, and there is no doubt about it. We already have people in this nation who are aiding and abetting the terrorists by sending money and arms. We must proceed, if we proceed at all, with extreme caution. See you at the Inn.

I agree, we have lost our way and our so-called leaders have lost their will. Obama was never invested in dealing with terrorists. He looked alarmed by my question and told me to come back on a Monday when the place was closed so we could talk. In the end he told me that people like him don't speak out and condemn terrorists because they are afraid.

Thank you for this slice of reality, and how so many people are on a reality free diet. It is another instance in a long line of instances where the media has been caught manipulating reality, so it doesn't interfere with their cloud of distortion.

The media over the last several decades has transformed real news into a mind molding circus of opinions, and misdirection to serve the clandestine and ulterior motives of their owners.

The New in the News is that, it is no longer the news, in fact, it is so filled with non news that we need a new name for it. In the 1950s, the public was for the purpose of getting them to buy products subjected to subliminal suggestions at the movies. Once it was discovered, it eventually became illegal, but today the media has brought it back on steroids. Instead of controlling the minds of people for the purpose of selling products, today the media uses it to sculpture the American Government with their choices for who should be elected by the People. Yet, the People have been bathed in the New News for decades, so they aren't even aware that they are now the slaves of the media. Oops, I started to sound like those US protesters in the park talking about Space Aliens.

Well, anyway, I have time to finish this before my Intergalactic ride arrives to take me back to my home planet for Thanksgiving.

Back to the topic, the loyal party voters, the party, and the media are the three players in electing who serves in the Congress and Presidency. Yet, one of them is totally in the dark as to what they are doing, and how they have put conditioning in place of intelligence.

Can you guess which of these three that it might fit?

The refugee scenario is somewhat like the hostage situation where the hostages are freed and the police then vet the hostages to see if any of them are really one of the bad guys.

Not to vet the hostages would be a fatal mistake, and that is what Obama and his supporters are doing with the Syrian refugees.

Without properly vetting them, they could let some bad guys into the country, to join those crowds of muslims in NJ.

It is one thing for the US Government to allow terrorists to sneak into the country through the half unwalled Mexican border, but it is another when they demand that we take in Syrian refugees without vetting them.

It seems in both cases, that the US government really wants to breed terrorists in the US, but I don't know what is their end game for that.

In addition, the refugees need to be examined for diseases, both physical and psychological, apart from mental anguish of the war.

Good one, Pop

All politicians lie about something. Each one has a scewed take on the "truth." That is the nature of the beast. And they have been lying since the beginning of time. As for refugees, I had a unique experience substitute teaching for an ESL (English as a second language) high school class. There were children who were refugees from Iraq, Yemen, Burma, Nepal, and others from China, Uzbekistan, Ukraine. Two of the girls are Muslim and wear the hijabs. There families are here looking for a better life for their children, and some a life at all. I could not look one of those children in the eyes and not want them to be here. Granted there were none from Syria, but I would take children from Syria too. The vetting process is very thorough and very strict here in the U.S. The chances of a Syrian terrorist getting into the U.S. is slim to none. I would not want to keep out thousands of families, especially those with children, out of fear. Those children have a lot to offer our country and are working hard at learning English and assimilating into our culture. At the same time they are very proud of their heritages and shared information about their countries and their cultures with me. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had . I was able to understand what these people go through. Two of the boys were born in refugee camps in Burma and grew up there until their middle school and high school years. I would not wish that on any child or family.

Good Morning brad,

Obama's end game is bringing America to its knees. He came here to change our country and he is succeeding. Before long Sharia law will be acceptable, which blows my mind. As for the media molding our brains, although it has been going on for a long time, we are at the height of that effort. Do you watch the commercials that are now on TV. They aren't just selling cereal, they are selling cereal and a gay lifestyle. I don't appreciate being told how to think, and that has nothing to do with acceptance for other people's choices. As far as accepting all these Syrians into our country, we will never do a thorough job of vetting them.. This administration does't give a damn about the American people and their concerns. See you at the Inn.

If everyone were so benign, we wouldn't have watch lists.

A wise person plans for the worst and hopes it never happens. To stick your head in the sand and pretend there is no threat is just wrong in my opinion. As long as there is even one radical terrorist sworn to kill us left on the planet this will not be a safe and secure world.

Even without the terrorism threat this is not a safe and secure world. I suggest you contact your local police department and see if you can ride with one of their officers one night on a weekend. Your view of our "safe and secure" world will be much different after that experience.

"Playing what if" is a sophomoric way to look at the problem. National security is not a game we play! The thing to fear is when we ignore doing something about a threat that is staring us in the face (911 was staring us in the face and we could have done something about it if we took the "what if" seriously - we didn't)

Being vigilant, responsibly handling a threat, isn't living in constant fear, it keeps us from being in fear.

BP, you hear that Tom Brokaw called your son in law a LIAR? Yeah he has a blurb running daily on radio stations and on NBC’s “Meet the Press, journalist Tom Brokaw said, “... When Donald Trump says he saw in Jersey City thousands of people cheering the World Trade Center coming down, completely wrong. It did not happen. He didn’t see it. But who’s there to challenge him on that?”

On the radio he repeatedly calls Trump (and therefore your son in law) a LIAR. Let your son in law know Tom Brokaw is calling him a LIAR.

Funny I don't remember Brokaw blabbing all over that Obama lied when he said you can keep your doctor and health plan if you want! What charlatan hypocrites the liberal media and hacks like him really are.

tsadjatko profile image

tsadjatko 12 months ago from maybe (the guy or girl) next door

BP I looked into this and guess what, Washington Post’s fact checker, Glenn Kessler. He addressed Trump’s claim here, and, calling it “outrageous,” awarded it FOUR PINOCCHIOS.

Kessler wrote:

Trump says that he saw this with his own eyes on television and that it was well covered. But an extensive examination of news clips from that period turns up nothing. There were some reports of celebrations overseas, in Muslim countries, but nothing that we can find involving the Arab populations of New Jersey.

This assertion is astonishing, because it means that Kessler is ignorant–or pretends to be–of his own newspaper’s reporting. The Washington Post, on September 18, 2001, wrote:

In Jersey City, within hours of two jetliners’ plowing into the World Trade Center, law enforcement authorities detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the attacks and holding tailgate-style parties on rooftops while they watched the devastation on the other side of the river. thehttp://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2015/11/wash...

So much for the credibility of the Washington Post fact checker! See, the liberal media lies whenever they can if they want to take someone down, you can not trust them, fact checkers or "investigative" (ha ha) reporters, they are just a wing of the Democrat cabal.

The new liberal morality is almost a mirror image of traditional American morality in which things like abortion are moral and opposing it is immoral. Just about every traditional American value is now upside down, so lying is good, and telling the truth is bad if you're a liberal like Hillary. However, that standard is just the opposite if you're a conservative.

Good Morning tsadjatko,

ISIS is thrilled about our open door and lax policy. We are making things so much easier for them and we can thank this clueless president and his party for that.

Dear Mike,

Only a fool, and we have plenty of them, would think that ISIS wouldn't use this as a perfect opportunity. The number of ISIS recruits going overseas is slowing because ISIS would prefer they remain here and wage Jihad right here in America. The only person dancing in the dark is Obama.
