Sherrod's Fifteen Minutes Are Up!
Never let it be said that a pro(re)gressive lets a good crisis go to waste. Shirley Sherrod, who was shamefully dismissed for comments that were taken out of context (apparently), is living the high life right now. After having a good, long conversation with the President of the United States, she then turned down a very generous offer to return to the USDA. But, letting it go there was not enough. Sherrod then started blasting Andrew Breitbart for posting the video. She is most likely going to file a lawsuit against him and, of course, that nefarious conservative whipping boy, Fox News. No doubt many appearances on Opra, The Tonight Show, all the major pro(re)gressive networks are on the horizon for Shirley Sherrod. After that, look for a book to be written. This is the standard procedure for an outraged nobody. In fact, she is now wanting a face to face meeting with Obama to discuss race in America! Two weeks ago, she was just an obscure USDA bureaucrat in Georgia. And the beat goes on...
This week Arizona's Immigration Law SB1070 is scheduled to go into effect providing that Judge Susan Bolton does not issue an injunction. Just an amateur observation from what was reported at last Thursday's hearing, I am thinking the judge is going to allow most, if not all of the law to go into effect. Basically, the judge is going to have to disallow the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act. That federal law was used as a standard for the Arizona law. So, if the judge rules an injunction, what does this say to that federal law? That it is null and void? Are the people who were granted amnesty no longer U.S. citizens? It's a can of worms that I'm not sure any court is wanting to open.
All this aside. the open borders zealots are warning they will stage acts of " civil disobedience" if they don't get their way. Personally, I hope they do. I want all American citizens to see the violent left exposed on Fox News. You won't see that on CBS, NBC or ABC. If there is violence, it will be sanitized by those networks. The radical leftists of La Raza and other open borders scum are pushing this by bringing in people from out of state to protest SB1070. It is a common sense law that is needed to protect the people of Arizona. Spare me the BS about racial profiling. The fact of the matter is the vast majority of illegal aliens are hispanic. If Poland bordered the USA, all Caucasians would also be at risk for racial profiling. So what? I don't know of anyone dying from being stopped and asked about their status in this country. Should police stop issuing speeding tickets because Corvettes look like they are speeding more than any other car? Please. This racial profiling whine is just an excuse to get amnesty on the table. Since the federal government refuses to secure our borders, states have to protect its citizens.
Today we learned that our esteemed leaders at the White House backed the release of the allegedly dying Lockerbie bomber, Abdel Baset al-Megrahi. Is anyone, outside of the usual Obama zombies, surprised by this? The White House claimed it would be far preferable to free this mass murderer than to jail him in Libya. This is supposed to be why Scottish officials were outraged when the USA did not strongly object to the release of al-Megrahi initially. Obama just keeps stepping in it. Assuming this is all true, this is just another stake in the heart of the vampire who will not go quietly into that good night. How can our allies trust us if this is, indeed, the case? I have no doubt it is true. This is the standard Obama appeasement initiative to anyone in the Arab world. Gee, I wonder why that is?
Finally, I would like to congratulate Senator John "reporting for duty" Kerry for "keeping it real" for us peasants. Like most pro(re)gressives, Senator Kerry has shown no reluctance to support imposing taxes on the working class of this country. Now, it all comes out the esteemed senator from Massachusetts has docked his luxury yacht in Newport, RI to escape a six figure tax bill in his home state! Of course, the former Democratic nominee for president says he is just docking the boat in Newport because the boat was built there. Sure. I'll just bet that is the reason. It seems liberals always have great ideas for raising our taxes. But, for some odd reason, taxes on them (re: Charlie Rangel is another great example) are to be ignored and forgotten (Tim Geithener, Sec. of Treas). Hypocrisy, by any other name, is still...hypocrisy.
And the band played on... .
