THE CAPITALIST'S WAR AGAINST THE U. S. GOVERNMENT
Political View from the Underclass
THE CAPITALIST’S WAR AGAINST THE U. S. GOVERNMENT
When President Obama made the statement that he intend to fundamentally change the way things are done on Capitol Hill he made a mistake. In my opinion, that Plan he should have kept to himself. A new and incoming President in the internet age must be more guarded in what information about intentions him or her release that would cause their adversaries’ to circle their wagons. The American people knew that Wall Street, Big Banks and Financial Institutions were declared “Too Big to Fail”. The bailout by the Federal Government of institutions that took advantage of the Federal Government’s Housing guarantees and literally stole from the People and the United States Government was a gift and not a loan. The American people suffered financial and material lost and some have not recovered to this date. Those too big to fail got billions on top of the billions they defrauded the Government out of and sat on that money until now. President Bush in the last months of his Presidency was able to convince both houses of congress that Wall Street was too big to fail. Today everything but Wall Street is failing, including the American people and The President can’t get both houses of congress to do anything.
I believe the President is an extraordinarily intellectual man. I believe he has an above average ability to focus, understand, and communicate complex ideas and situations, better than most of our past Presidents. I believe he is just a man and far from perfect but, he is a president for the people and their only personal lobbyist in Washington. Being a gifted man doesn’t give him complete control of his ego, super ego, or id and stop him from publicly challenging the powers that be, especially, if that power is Capitalism in America. The first thing the powers that be (Too Big to fail) did was to sit on the money given them by the Bush Administration. They didn’t lend the money to the people damaged by the financial collapse of Wall Street and the Housing Markets Nationwide. Businesses began to layoff hundreds of thousands of people a month and that trend lasted until after the 2012 Presidential elections. The President was able to get stimulus money to prop up the economy and save some public sector jobs during the first two years which the Democrats controlled the House. He was able to save the US Auto Industry by loaning them with interest stimulus money, not giving away tax payer’s money as was Wall Street. President Obama by the hair of his chin managed to sign into law The Affordable Care Act before the Teaparty arrived in the 2010 midterms.
In order to fundamentally change the way things are done on Capitol Hill The President would have to diminish the influence of Capitalist and their money on Capitol Hill. That ain’t gonna happen. No single man, not even the President can change the fact that today it takes millions of dollars to campaign and win or lose in a National election. Campaign cost in most cases far exceeds wages and benefits paid in the House of Representatives, Senate, or The Presidency. The cost and opportunity to run and lose or win is paid by those people (Corporations are people) and Donors that expect their interest to be supported. They expect access to those Democrat and or Republican candidates they support financially. That is the way it worked before The President took office and that’s how thing will be after he leaves office. The Real Powers That Be doesn’t like taxes, regulations, or social entitlements, in that order. Bank, Farm, Business and corporate, subsidies and entitlements are some of the reasons capitalist fund political campaigns.
The war against the President by Capitalist began when the Tea Party took over the house and pledged “no tax increases”. The first campaign in the war against the President’s threats of “Fundamental Change” was to declare that every established law maker on Capitol Hill, Republican and Democrats alike, caused the previous eight year failures of “The Bush Administration”. A war against the Federal Government was also declared by Teaparty Republicans. The New Teaparty Republicans attacked the President’s Stimulus Projects, The US Auto Deal, and Healthcare Law. They stripped the Commander and Chief of his credit card, denied him any tax revenue to create Federal jobs and insisted on a Federal hiring freeze. They sighted the Federal debt as the reason to defund the Obama Presidency. The next two years the Teaparty and the Republican Congress did absolutely NOTHING but vote to repeal the A.C.A. and block any and all tax increases denying The President any and all Federal revenue needed to advance his Presidency. The minority leader of the Senate and the majority leader of the house didn’t pledge to financial supporters in order to get a seat in the senate or house, that they promise to make The President a one term President. The minority senate leader said and the majority leader in the house showed that they wanted to make the President’s reelection unlikely because of Governmentlessness.
Despite the billions spent by capitalists, corporations, and Obama haters in red states, the President was reelected. Despite the obstructions and phony crisis created by the far right rookie lawmakers voted for in the 2010 midterm, The President was reelected. Even though conservative law makers insisted on a Federal employment freeze, private sector job creators stop hiring in fear The President wanted them to pay taxes. The food stamp and unemployment rolls grew to record levels and the President was called the Food Stamp President, still he was reelected. After four years of Governmentlessness, the powers that be can’t repeat another four years of a stagnant economy. During his first term the President has meet with Capitalist leaders and Representatives at the White House. Those people hate regulations as much as they hate paying taxes or maybe more than paying taxes. Capitalists have always hated to pay taxes. The Boston Tea Party was about taxes. The Civil War is said to have been about taxes on sugar imports grown in the Caribbeans because the South used most of their land to grow cotton. I wonder who the rich think should pay the taxes so the Government can provide the infrastructure and services for them to make money, the poor have no money. We are coming to the end of the fourth year of the President’s second term and the Teaparty Republicans have allowed no taxes and no tax reform. The President has managed to get Health reform by law and some financial regulations and consumer protections which have rubbed the health and financial industries the wrong ways. They don’t want change, they liked being able to have everything their way without the Government’s consumer protections and regulations. The Teaparty was created to protect the interest of corporations and capitalist.
The President has not fundamentally changed the way things are done on Capitol Hill, the Tea Party and the Supreme Court has definitely changed the way things are done on Capitol Hill. December 18, 2013
