THE PRIORITY OF QUALITY EDUCATION
President Obama Speaks to Schools
Today I watched President Obama give a pep talk to school children in Mannassas, Virginia. His message of personal responsibility to the students was a very inspirational message. In his speech the President pledged to do everything in his power to help empower the student towards their sucess in their educational endeavors.
The President stressed the lifelong importance to every student of their getting a quality education. He stressed lack of education would essentially doom them to lifelong failure. The President stressed there are no excuses for the students for not applying themselves to their obligations.
Several examples were cited of students who overcame long odds but persevered in obtaining a quality education. The President claimed this endeavor was an obligation the students owed to their country. He once again pledged to use his position as President to aid the students in their endeavor of receiving a quality education.
DC Parents Protest
At the exact time President Obama was giving his inspirational speech, African American parents of Washington DC students were conducting a protest of President Obama, and the Democratic Congress.
The parents were protesting the administration and congress for eliminating the DC charter schools and school vouchers by eliminating the funding for these programs. During the last two years literacy rates in DC schools had increased from 33% to 50% as a result of these charter schools.
Do I detect a mixed mesage?
Is the message quality education, or pro unionized teachers?
Hypocritical Deception
There is no mixed message.
The message is clear.
Obama will serve his masters in the Union movement. To hell with school children, they don't donate to campaigns. The NEA has opposed charter schools and school vouchers from the beginning of their inception
So one more indication of the true agenda of Obama. He will take care of his cronys and the citizens be damned. The total hypocracy of this administration can be seen by a blind person by this time.
