THE STATE OF THE UNION 10-19-12

STATE OF THE UNION 10-19-12

Just a bit ago, the dogs were barking. Four dogs to be exact.

It was a bit annoying to me.

I can imagine how annoying it could have been to the Mexican mother who was trying to get the chain back on her son’s bicycle as he watched. The child may have been 5 years old.

I’m 63 years old. I am animated. I am not a spectator of life. I have been blessed with knowledge and body and skills.

I walked out to the street where they were, shushing the dogs as possible.

The lady smiled and the child looked on and studied.

Neither seemed to speak English and I, being a typical American, do not speak Spanish. I hope to correct my lack of communication.

I asked her if I could help. She and her son did not know my words but the mother understood my gesture. She nodded.

I strode back to the garage and returned with a 15mm wrench and an adjustable. I’ve known there to be needs for the adjustable so many times dealing with children’s bikes. Been there thousands of times it seems.

The chain had come off.

The 15mm wrench fit the nuts holding the training wheels. But instantly I saw that the rear wheel could not be moved back.

I removed the 15mm outside nuts and the training wheels.

I saw that there were 2 larger nuts holding the rear wheel on. I was certainly correct in bringing along the adjustable wrench sometimes called the “crescent wrench”. Of course they are “spanners” for you folks in the UK and elsewhere.

So I loosened the remaining nuts that allowed me to draw the wheel back and thus tighten the chain to prevent the chain from falling off again.

I then replaced the training wheels.

I set the bicycle on the asphalt to better level the bike and properly adjust the training wheels so that the child could ride his bike properly.

This is nothing new to me and I thank my God, yes my God, for the insight and the ability to relieve the stress from the mother and somewhat elate the child.

I’ve done these things as long as I can remember – when I’ve had the ability.

October 18, 2012

I was riding across a heavily trafficked bridge. It’s extremely busy during the rush hours. Cars come to a stop. There is a partitioned bike lane so I am not bothered at all by the automobiles and their discarded debris.

I saw cars dodging a large metal gas can that was in the middle of the traffic.

I saw a break in the traffic. Cars were very far back and there was ample time to retrieve the can safely.

I jumped the wall separating the bike lane from the highway and ran to the can.

I retrieved it very safely and set it down by the waist high wall.

I decided to ride my bicycle on to my destination.

Two ladies, who were walking, spoke well to me for what I had done.

Quickly I thought that the can may still be a peril for anyone who may try to retrieve it.

I quickly turned and would have reached down for it as a policeman pulled up. He missed his attempt to put his car/transmission in “PARK”. He applied his brake after jumping back to his seat and set his car right.

He walked over to the can. He looked at the can. He never looked at me. He never spoke to me. I mentioned that I retrieved the metal can from the highway.

The policeman never spoke.

The policeman never looked at me.

The policeman never acknowledged that I was a living creature.

The policeman never acknowledged that I was a breathing spirit.

I put my remaining foot onto the right pedal and pushed away as I said, “You’re welcome…………………jackass.”

No - I do not appreciate being treated as an inanimate object.

If this cop is doing it to me - HE IS DOING IT TO OTHERS.

I’ve taken many criticisms of being “negative”.

For decades – I have not changed.

When I was unemployed I have hoed a garden for the aged.

When in business I have donated many services to bike racers and children who needed a leg up.

As I was riding my bicycle back home, I came upon a limb in the road.

I could have ridden my bicycle around the limb.

Without thought – I stopped and moved the limb out of the road.

This is not new.

Voting? East Timor? Vietnam? What else?

The Power of Positive Thinking!

This is nothing new. I’ve done this for decades.

I haven’t gotten a new religion.

This is my old time religion and it is indeed my religion.

I do not attend nor do I believe in your religion.

I will not go to your church.

I go to the same church as Jesus went.

I do not promote any churchanity.

I do not promote your temple-anity.

We, as humans, are BOUND to raise our brothers and sisters up.

I will not endorse your atheism.

There is SPIRITUALITY.

There is spiritual growth.

It is up to you to find it and nourish it.

I will not endorse your religion.

Most are falsely represented.

I will not endorse your political party.

Both of these political parties of the United States of America support the Federal Reserve, Wall Street, ie the Koch brothers, Art Pope, and many entities such as these with “think tanks” that extort money and resources without labors of their own and plot against the very people from whom they extract money, energy, and resources.

Want an example? Why isn’t Henry Kissinger tried for war crimes? Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell, the Bushs, James Baker, the greedy few who exploit in the name of "patriotism" and "national security", be it Africa, the Amazon, Ukraine, or northern Alaska, and/or any place on Earth, should be brought to trial for their deeds. To ignore these atrocities by merely ignoring, burying the head in sand, thinking positively while ignoring the plight of mankind on the largest scale is selfishness and this self promotion will turn its head and take its toll.

Over 200,000 East Timorese people were slaughtered outright; tens of thousands more died of starvation and disease later.

I could go on and on – but most of you have NO time for the truth.

Many of you will call me “negative” because I say this exploitation, this murder of people, this poisoning of land and water for profit, thus killing of people, is wrong.

I will be labeled as “negative”.

The POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING puts the world at one’s finger-tips.

Then again – Henry Kissinger, the Bushes, the Koch brothers may invade where you live and there is so little many can do but die.

.

And- voting for a democrat or republican will do nothing to change the world, our Earth.

.

Applying your magnetism to gain material things will certainly lead you to disillusionment.

You can see the truth or wear rose-colored glasses.

When these "parties" bring real criminals to justice - THEN - and only then will I believe in your "voting".

.

I'm not forgetting 3 million dead in Vietnam, 200,000 dead, in East Timor, and many other places around the globe where these businessmen have trampled.

You wear the special glasses.

You have your self-inflicted amnesia.

Being human and humane is how I roll.

.

Now sheep - vote on.
