Tearing Down Isn't Building Up! (The 2012 Election, and who's coming up to bat.)

Updated on March 5, 2012

If you don't like the candidates or office holders, why aren't you running, or at least campaiging for someone who is?

Have a complaint? Spread the word. The Suggestion Box is open. It closes November 3, 2012. Better hurry!

Someone is expressing their opinion! That's good, or is it?

I did one article on tearing into candidates for this year's 2012 elections http://perspycacious.hubpages.com/hub/This-2012-Bashing-of-Every-Candidate-Diminishes-America] saying that doing so diminishes America.

Someone, apparently many someones, is claiming that this year's selection process is seeing one or more cndidates who are "worse" than ever before, and asked "who could be worse/"

My reply is this. I think the candidates who are worse are the ones who never ran! They had skeletons in the closet, couldn't take the heat, didn't want to make the country better badly enough to run for the office, valued their own goals in life more than service to their country, or had chosen a partner who wanted nothing to do with the glare and polish.

How many good candidates for leaderswhip have stayed home instead of stepping up to the plate and taking a good turn at the bat?

To me, it makes little sense to ridicule the candidates (any of them) who put themselves on the line for our country. Each of them is a cut above the ones I mentioned.

Trying to castigate them may be the kind of treatment that discourages the next good leader we need...oh, and by the way we DO need proven leaders who can make a difference, and don't kid yourselves that we don't. We've been there and done that too much already!

If we don't say what we want, and don't bother voting for it, we get the leftovers. Say something. Do something. Stand up for the best choice. If there are "bums" send them home.

Throwing up our hands in despair, hanging our heads, and saying 200+ days ahead of time that "nothing will change," "it will always be this bad," "good guys lose," doesn't cut it with me.

It's still our country, sweet land of liberty, time to sing...loudly and make our voices heard, not sit back and complain now and afterwards

Some folks will vote the party line across the board. Their motto is: "My party; right or wrong, my party."

Some folks have already made up their mind, before the dust even settles.

Some folks think our system of the secret ballot is "a joke" and they won't vote, but they will be the first afterwards to complain that "the wrong candidate won!"

Once in four years; you've got the chance. It's now; use it!

Character assassins....

Are you as disgusted as I am (and I am) with the character assassins who spend their time tearing down well intentioned candidates?
