The Death Of A Bad Idea

Those Who Act Like Sheep Will Be Eaten By Wolves

The whole issue of gun control should have, if anything, been given to someone besides our Crazy Uncle Joe. I reckon Obama needed to keep him occupied while he continues to do nothing. I'm always amazed how these professional pick pockets we call politicians can create an enormous amount of energy attempting to whittle away at our fundamental rights instead of doing what we pay them to do. You know the little things like passing budgets and righting the fiscal ship of state that they have torpedoed over time.

Now Joey keeps up a "the American people are with us on this" chant which a low information voter might believe. Those members of the public are the same ones who sent the Obama-Biden ticket back to continue damaging this nation which some of us hold in high regard. Those are also the type of voter who thinks it's alright for this nation to sign a UN Arms Treaty, not understanding that the UN doesn't run this country. Our US Constitution should be able to do that if it is followed. That's a different subject altogether so lets concentrate on the waste of time Biden has been involved in and his reaction to what is as plain as the nose on his faace.

Remember what these thieves did when they should have been concentrating on a failing economy back in 2009? They concentrated on passing Obamacare instead and that's turning into the biggest socialized mess we have ever experienced in this country. The economy is still a mess and it seems like they want to concentrate on anything under the sun but doing what we pay them to supposedly do. The key word there was "supposedly" because they are getting a failing grade all around.

Now according to Crazy Uncle Joe the Whine House has just begun to fight even though faced with the gun control measures undertaken in the US Senate. under the tutelage of Harry Reid, that are falling flat on their face and gasping for air. Many of those Blue State Democratic Senators are facing reelection in 2014 According to Joey, "They have just begun to fight!" What they need to do is k nock off the crap and get to the task at hand which is rein in excessive government spending, pass a budget every year and live by it.

They need to stop wasting precious time and get with the program of fixing what they have collectively screwed up. That needs to be Priority #1.

Nuff Said?

What he is saying is tantamount to admitting they screwed the pooch on this deal and they're running back to where the voters are. The voters aren't wanting to give up their guns to the likes of Obama and Biden, and probably not anyone else for that matter. Most people don't want to be outgunned by the bad guys. Like the bad guys are going to gun shops to buy their armament and submitting to fancy schmancy back ground checks designed by bureaucrats?

Joey is the front man for admitting that assault weapons ban and the magazine limit debacle are DOA even as amendments. But Obama seems to think that even voting on them as defeated measures is a good start. It's a waste of time the way I see it. The US Senate seems good at wasting time and it has been that way since this administration started. They are adept at doing absolutely nothing. They are supposed to be "the greatest deliberative body in history?" At doing what? As long as Harry Reid is leading that charge it will remain that way - A Do Nothing Senate.

The US Senate Needs A Truckload Of Tuits...

The people we pay good money and perks to need to pluck their heads out of their duffel bags. We don't pay them that kind of money to attempt to overturn the Second Amendment, We don't pay them a dime to attempt to "infringe in any manner" on our right to bear arms. That should be a settled fact for as long as I can remember. The Second Amendment wasn't written about hunters. It was penned to guard against tyranny and to insure that the citizens of this nation have adequate protection for themselves and their family.

The federal government has no business running a massive gun registry system. Maybe that's 10th Amendment type of business if it is necessary at all.

Obama has consistently won "The Gun Salesman Of The Year Award" since he took office. Now why would that be?

Limit all politicians to two terms.
One in office.
One in prison.
Detroit and Chicago already do this.

And just when you thought you could not live another day under Sequestration...the Pentagon announces it is spending $150 million dollars for a redo at GITMO. Seems the "Prisoners Club" needs a new bar and some dancing girls. I suggested a building to serve the needs of an "Alumni Club" for all those returning terrorist. The Defense Budget stands to be hit the hardest in the sequester yet they can spend money in this way? Ol' Two-Faced Harry now wants to vote on gun legislation that has no chance of passing???? In the past, he has not allowed bills to even come to the floor for discussion citing that they did not have enough support to warrant it. Is this a hypocrite or what? ~WB

Wayne - Wait a minute! Do you mean to tell me that Obama hasn't closed GITMO? Wasn't that one of the first promises he made? You telling me he broke a campaign promise? LMAO! Harry Reid is putting on the Obama/Biden show with symbolism. How about if they get off their butts and do the job we pay them to do. Would that be symbolic or what?

The Democrats know that no gun control measure will have any effect at all on crime. This is just another step toward the final goal of disarming America.

The Frog Prince profile image

Will - I have that disarming as being a big problem with the people in this country. Crazy Joey is trumpeting that the American people are on his side of the debate. I suggest people look at the second graphic I used in this Hub closely. It is a right for a person to NOT own weapons. It's a matter of choice and needs to remain that way .

I keep hearing "The senate hasn't submitted a budget for 4 years that's a violation of the law"! "President Obama hasn't submitted a budget on time that's breaking the law!"

Well what the hell is wrong with the republicans who keep repeating this? What are the consequences of violating this" law"? There are none, so what value is said law?

Why don't the Republicans get off that high horse and pass a law with teeth, like they don't get paid until they submit budgets and pass one! The pay they lose in the meantime is lost forever and their pay is permanently reduced when reinstated by 1/4 for every month late they are in submitting and passing a budget. How about all members of any congress who doesn't pass a budget becomes ineligilble for re-election! That would stop any majority from keeping it from a vote and any minority would be risking losing the seats they have if they chose to obstruct.

These charlatans need to be made to pay for their incompetence and whining they are breaking laws without consequences is just theatrics, it's plain nuts. Typical of congress (both sides) to use an issue for rhetoric but do nothing about solving it.

One of the biggest lies circulating these days about gun control is the Japanese 'success' with gun control - essentially denying gun ownership to all. But all is not as it seems when we compare Japan to the US and other western nations. David B. Kopel does an excellent piece on this subject which can be found online.

But the main point is the one you've made here Frog: gun ownership is a right guaranteed by the constitution for protection against government oppression and for personal defense. Take away our guns and that will finish us.

Great hub, and I like the two term idea, it has a nice twist. Although in certain cases, I don't see why we have to wait for the second term to go to the second phase.

BTW, a while back I wrote a hub on the gang problem in the US. These gangs have the weapons, and they use it to protect their illegal businesses. 3 years ago

The gun debate in the minds of many people, especially those that follow one or more of the gun control advocacy groups. Guns are dangerous and should be regulated just as other issues of public safety are.

The real issue with gun control is the government can not be trusted and the people are beginning to see the shred. The only way to minimize the trouble that is coming is to attempt to disarm the citizenry .(In the name of public safty).

The government does not fear the guns held by the public. They fear the public that have these guns. It is not about good or bad. It is about freedom of enslavement.

Right on Frog. Reid is ALOT smarter than Feinstein. He knows things like banning semi-autos and enforcing 5-round clip limits would get alot of Congressmen thrown out of office. So he's going to laser focus on things like mental health and other "background checks." This will be all the fed's need to create a federal gun registration system by stealth. And you know what comes next - total confiscation. It's so obvious, and it's amazing how few people understand the implications.

Hi Froggie (The Frog Prince) -

Let's call this fine article of yours a "fun article." It is a "fun article" because most of those who read it will not have much fun out of their reading, but those who don't read it will continue to have fun and games with the problems they are causing by not reading it...

Biden is abysmally stupid. I typically think leftist politicians to be more evil hiding behind the stupid card, not so for Uncle Joe. I don't think you will see a budget. As for guns, look at the other nations that have gone toward stricter gun control laws. It's not going well. We all know the old adage about cold dead hands. Enough said.

Frog: Gotta say, Mark Kelley (ex-astronaut, hubby to Gabby Giffords) set the gold standard when he (a) preached hither, thither and yon in favor of banning "assault rifles", then (b) went out and bought himself an AR-15, obviously believing nobody would notice, then (c) tried to weasel out of it by claiming he did it just to prove how easy it was to do [which is pretty much the point under the Second Amendment], but (d) certainly has not turned his spanking new AR-15 in to Sheriff Killemall Dupnik (remember Jose Guerena!) to be destroyed.

Liberal hypocrisy in action, turbo!

The Frog Prince profile image

The Frog Prince 3 years ago from Arlington, TX Author

Fred - Actually the gun shop owner refused to deliver the Ar to Kelley because he lied on the application. One of the questions was, "Is this weapon for your own personal use or are you giving this to someone else." Or words to that effect. He said it was for his own personal use. Kelley should be charged with a crime for his subterfuge. And this guy was an astronaut?

The Frog

Stu 3 years ago

Frog - let not your heart be worried. It's OK - he's a LIBERAL astronaut, so he shouldn't have even had to pass the NCIS check.

BTW - How did the gun shop owner know Kelley was lying?

Even if he was lying, I thought liberals were allowed to do that.

Whatever Kelley did, I'm sure Dumbnik would have gone easier on him than Jose Guerena.

The Frog Prince profile image

The Frog Prince 3 years ago from Arlington, TX Author

Stu - How did he know? Because Kelley went right out to the Lame Stream Media boasting how easy it is to buy an AR-15 and that when he picked it up he was going to turn it over to the Sheriff. How stupid can one get? Just let the world know you're about to commit a felony. What the hell!

I certainly hope they are unsuccessful in banning weapons. I believe and support the 2nd amendment. This administration focuses on anything that distracts from their mistakes. However, they don't do anything that will actually put people to work, or boost the economy. They know quite well how to spend.

Have a Happy Easter.

Frog - I wonder what would happen to "Stu the hard right wingnut" if HE tried that stunt. I'm (assumedly) already on the federal "red list" (phone, mail, and physical threats) because of my numerous emails and faxes to Congress and the Administration. Molon Labe - they'll have to pry my tongue out of my cold dead mouth to shut me up. But I'm sure a different standard would apply to me if I did the same thing Kelley did.
