The George Zimmerman Defense Evolves with Judge Robert Zimmerman

Former Judge and Father Speaks Out

Wow. There could be no opposite versions as to what happen between Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman. The killing has reignited the whole race thing and the blacks have already convicted a Hispanic\white man for it in the press and of course, all the fringe people and groups join in the chorus. Sounds like Rodney King, again.

Robert Zimmerman, George's father, ironically, is a former judge from Virginia. The title has a lot of weight. Obviously, his son has told him the whole story. Would a son tell his father an outright lie after such a horrifying event that has ruined his own life? It is hard to yes to this question, especially if your dad as a judge that George aspired to be,

Both men have now received death threats. Naturally, Robert retells the same story George has with some additional facts. Robert indicated that George was on his way to his car when he noticed Trayvon walking between the condos in an area that has many recent crime issues. George felt it was odd that he was not walking along the street on the sidewalk during the rainy night. As a watchman, he felt he should observe him further and followed him from a distance. During this time, George called the police on a non-emergency number-it was not 911. The police asked for his location, because George was in the condo complex, not on the main street, he indicated he did not know. George ignored police advice and kept following from a distance in order to get the address they were at to call the police. Once George reached the street where he knew where he was at, he started to veer off towards his car. This is when Trayvon turned, who knew he was being followed, and said, "Do you have a fucking problem?". George responded that he had no problem and pulled out his cell phone. Suddenly, Trayvon attacked George, hitting him, a scuffle happens, they hit the ground on pavement with Trayvon on top. During the scuffle, George's gun appears for the first time and Trayvon sees it and states some threat that George will die. The gun goes off, with Trayvon being killed.

Robert's father does not believe that the scream for help is Trayvon. In fact, he stated, that everyone in the Zimmerman family knows it is George. The former judge does not believe Trayvon's girlfriend was talking to Trayvon because it was weeks after the event that she amazingly, suddenly, recalled talking to him at that time.

George actually was a mentor to two black kids in the past. The story is plausible. We have seen this exact situation depicted in movies many times. Yet, the only plausible reason for Trayvon to attack George was that he knew George might call the police, and in seconds, attacked to prevent it. Still, Trayvon had done nothing wrong except cut through a condo complex that had crime problems and spotted by a volunteer watchman. The video of George at the police station seems to contradict what he claims as a broken nose and head injuries. You see no injuries. The video is 30 min. after the incident. Unless police cleaned him up at the scene, which they do routinely, it is odd. Maybe George overstated the "broken nose", in fact, was not broken, it just bled some. As to the head injury from concrete, the video shows none. Again, was it cleaned up at the scene and stopped bleeding? I mean, it is possible. A head injury can be minor, not profusely bleeding.

This case has brought out the worse in America. Now, the Martin family is trademarking their dead son's image-this is sickening. Trying to cash in.

Thanks for point out that those things we see and hea the media say are temporary options to think about. they are not sworn testimony of actual witnesses. Racists will run with any bit of information that proves their bias. Reasoning people will wit until all of the facts are in to draw conclusions.

Real hate crimes are committed by emotional haters who reach judgment before knowing any facts. Recall Obama saying "stupid white police before he knew anything about the case? Tells you the truth, doesn't it. Remember the psychology test about saying th4 first thing that comes to your mind immediately after hearing a word. It assumes that your subconscious reveals your true self.

Racism is emotional.

Here is the official Florida Stand Your Ground Law: Under Florida's law, a person who is attacked in a place "where he or she has a right to be" (indoors or outdoors) has no duty to retreat. A person can "stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force" if it's "necessary" to prevent death, serious bodily harm, or "the commission of a forcible felony."

There is one big problem with this. Let's say that a person has alegedly attacked another person who has a right to be there. If that person feels his life is in danger, he can shoot to kill the other person. If the are no witnesses, it's the shooter's word against a dead man's word...something is wrong with this picture!

"blacks have already convicted a Hispanic\white man for it in the press"

Do you claim to speak for all blacks? Have you spoken to my husband? Because he's black, and he hasn't convicted Zimmerman. There hasn't even been a trial yet.

I personally have a guess at what happened... I neither think that Martin was as innocent as people like the Black Panthers claim him to be, nor do I think that Zimmerman was 100% innocent either. I think that the story is somewhere in the middle. But that's for the courts to decide, when all the facts come out.

alexsaez1983 4 years ago

I love how people think that George Zimmerman mentoring black people is proof that he isn't racist. Adolph Hitler was a vegetarian who loved animals. That didn't stop him from being a mass murderer. Besides, it's clear that while on the phone with the dispatcher, Zimmerman mutters "f*cking coons". There's often a big disparity between people's open behaviour and private thoughts.

@Brooke If you are addressing your comment at me, I trust that you will reread my post. We are in 100% agreement that the courts should decide. My comment is that those who have convicted Zimmerman without any more proof than they have are racist. There are many reasoning Blacks. OTOH there are hate mongering racists among us.

Now there is a new eyewitness that seems to support Zimmerman's version to a good extent. There is new information all the time on this. but I do think that most blacks have convicted Zimmerman already.

zhuzhu 4 years ago

The most recent witness states that he saw an hispanic man get off of a guy he had just shot and that the guy he shot was face down. Ballisitcs will tell us if he was shot in the back after being tackled by Zimmerman. They were nowhere near any cement for Zimmerman's head to have been banged on either; they were in the middel of the grass.

It sounds like Robert Zimmerman was not a judge at all but a low level magistrate in Manassas, Virginia and has no particular eeducation and is certainly not a lawyer. His wife was a clerk there. He may have KKK tiesto members of the Sanford PD, and lives in an average middle class neighborhood and his house is worth about $120,000. He is not well to do. George's "gated neighborhood" id a simple set of middle class condos, average income in the area about $46,000. It is down the street from Trayvon Martin's father's girlfriends house-where he was headed, You can see the house from where he was murdered. So much for being far from where he "should have been" What is sure is that George has three arrests which were expunged; two of them for violence (domestic abuse and during an arrest) and one for resisting arrest without violence. He has been to anger management and alcohol rehab a few years ago.

Actually, I have seen more than one source indicate Robert Zimmerman was a supreme court judge in Virginia. There was concrete, the sidewalk. I think what is going on is exaggeration of words used wrongly. Maybe his nose is not broken, but George thought it was and said so. maybe this brutal bashing of George's head was actually, hit the cement one time. Either would then show George as the station without blood. fact is, there are gaps into what happen and when. There are way too many willing to convict and hang George-sounds like the KKK, doesn't?

What if it was the other way around? Trayvon shot and killed George. There would not be a hesitation by the authorities. He would be in jail in a flash. I don't care if he stated the Stand Your Ground Law or not. There would not be a question of his guilt.

perrya profile image

I am not sure about that scenario-if there was a struggle for the gun and Trayvon ended with it, fired, it would be self defense for trayvon. I don't think he would be in jail because he was black.

The only ones who know for certain what happened are Zimmerman, the son, and Trayvon. Only one voice is left for us to hear.

I know the Sanford area well and the people who had nothing, nada, zip to do with this are suffering. Our media is on a feeding frenzy with any new tidbit then can throw in the waters to stir things up.

And, the public ...many members of the public, eat it up. I am not going to arm chair quarterback this.

I do believe that all of this media attention has made this much worse. I believe we should be kept informed..for sure...but so much is being said that no one knows the truth. The only thing we know for sure is a young man is dead and no one has been charged for this crime. I hate it that these things always get turned into racial issues. This one man who killed this boy does not represent whites...he represents himself, alone.

Hi perrya, and thanks for bringing "the other side of this story" which hasn't been discussed very much. None of us were there, so it's hard to decipher exactly what took place. However, it was Zimmerman that had the gun, not Martin. On that note...

Voted interesting

Isn't interesting how the same old stereotypes play themselves out year after year, generation after generation because we love to pretend to ourselves there is no racism here! When there has never been a time in America after bringing back slaves from Africa-(Real life People) just like you and just like me. There are scores of black people being denied not only civil rights but human rights. Criminal cases involving a black committing the same crime a white commit and percentagewise a black person will get the more severe punishment.

Referring to black people as racial hatemongers tells me that this is a hater themselves who wants to pretend like black people are on the same economical, political, social level as American whites which is clearly a fantasy.

I don't doubt there may be minorities (Black) that may be racist but perhaps the largest reason for minorities arew not satisfied with the rhetoric being fed to them is because we've heard it all before. Black people's very lives are at risk simply from walking the streets in the country where they were born and that's not referring only to Tryvon Martin.

I suppose you also view "law" and the "white mans law", when the reality is, the laws were passed with many black leaders, just like there are many on the police forces across america. Oh, I bet you view them as "uncle toms" also. Well, it is America, its a good thing you live here!

I suspect there would be no Black Panther party if black people didn't fear for their life-you're right this is America.

Years ago there was a TV program where black people were finally being accepted onto the police force it was clear from that program white police officers could gun down whomever but a black police officer needed to be darn sure zero tolerance that the white person he might shoot had better be guilty as hell-once again welcome to America.

Satan has a short period of time left and hes trying to use people like you and me to hate one another. Trayvon would been a live today if geroge didnt dwell on it and get out of his car and run and chase him dawn. We have to be kind to one in other no madder what color we are black white brown yellow an so onif not it going to be a war not me but with other because I stay out of things like hateing on people that are innocent. I love people no madder what color you are and thats how it should be its up to us.

Geroge shot trayvon and killed him like he was less then a dog and geroge was wrong dead wrong their are ways not to do that and its like stay in your car and watch what that person does and if he does do something wrong call it in dont get out of your and disobey the law because you have a gun. We as people have think what we do all the time if not we can get in trouble and I just want say I dont like guns they kill people and they are not coming back until jesus brings him back to life.

everyone, even trayvon's parents want justice, i doubt if he will get a fair trial in Florida

boeharr 4 years ago

The evidence I have seen and listened too makes me think and feel that Zimmerman murdered an innocent kid. The kid does not have a past record like his killer. I think Zimmerman is a liar and Judge Zimmerman is lying to protect his son as he has done in the past. Zimmerman's brother is no better. I agree with Perrya Trayvon will not receive justice from Florida. Let's not forget Florida is the state of chads and a stolen election by that misfit president who was beholden to America's corrupt corporate big business - George Bush. His brother Jedd was governor at the time - Surprise! The Florida defense law that Zimmerman is crouching behind is a product of this corrupt State. Not only does this Country's government need reform the States are even in worst shape. Illinois is in bankruptcy because of its long line of corrupt governors.

Who pays the price - citizens. We can't even vote these bums out - I believe they muck with the election processes. The primaries in Illinois had something go wrong with some of the machines that required some manual counting. Sure!! Romney won in Illinois - Surprise!

olhussy 4 years ago

This man won't get a fair trial, he has already been convicted by the blacks and the press. I thought you were innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The state of Florida is scared of the black with all there marches and threats. Just go ahead and pick an all black jury and convict him and all will be fine until another black is shot by a white or hispanic and then you will roll out the red carpet again when they start marching and threatening.... What has this world come to. The court will bow down to a bunch of racist, they love this kind of bull shit.....

perrya profile image

I think the fair trial will be a major issue since Florida only has a jury of six people, not 12!

boeharr 4 years ago

Perrya's artical is full of fabrication. Past records attest that Robert Zimmerman is the worse in US judicial system. His family are a product of this man's character. He is devoid of morals, honesty, and integrity, typical of the corruption and graft in this country today. The evidence is difficult in this case. How does anyone one know when or where George received the gash on his head, Was his nose broken - his eyes and face were not swollen. No blood was on him. He is too fat and stocky to have a high pitch voice. He has lost weight since he murdered Trayvon. Let him try doing that scream now for comparison to the 911 call. That scream is the sound of a young frightened person. Seventeen not twenty eight. Perrya is in the pocket of Zimmerman and his connections. I hope justice conquers and wins - It probably won't - Let's not forget O.J.

perrya profile image

perrya 4 years ago Author

@boeharr-well, making slanderous statements about a past judge simply indicates you are in the pocket of Trayvon. What evidence is there of Robert? I see, anyone connected to George is guilty-guilt by association- that is prejudicial. there are too many like you. We'll just have to wait and see.

boeharr 4 years ago

There were 3 instances (noted in reports on MSN & other media) where his influence got his son off the hook. I am sure vetting Georges past involvements with the law would reveal what I am referring too. I am not in Trayvon's pocket I am a mother of a son and have watched and listened to 911 calls and listened to a witness presented on CNN and other media. I am not slandering Judge Zimmerman I am stating facts as I read them from various sources. He slanders himself. I am happy there are many others like me. To me a 28 year old flak chased down a kid and shot him to death. Maybe Trayvon did get a punch in and that angered the crazed coward and he shot him. George should never have had a gun. I hope truth and justice come out - if I am wrong I will admit it but not till I am proven wrong. Out of curiosity,is Judge Robert a Republican or a Democrat? Intuitively I say Republican.

for the record, the use of blacks is neutral, is objective, no different than white, brown, it is what it is. Just because someone states, it was a black guy, means nothing unless you want it to. In the late 60s and well into the 70s, negros wanted the whites to call them blacks and often referred to one another as that. Then, they changed their minds and wanted to be called, african americans, which is fine. People are overly sensitive. Yes, in a perfect world, we would all call each other humans. As we know, it is far from perfect.

boeharr 4 years ago

This really is not about race. At least I don't care about that facet. It is about a man having a gun that should not have had one. It is about a ridiculously undefined state law "Stand Your Ground." And most importantly, it is about certain facts pointing to doubts about a man taking a boys life in self-defense. It is about a man whose father, a judge, has pulled clout to get his son out of trouble. And there are records that can be brought forth to attest to this. I think the media should talk about his father's influence more then they do. It appears the judge's power has muzzled the media too. I detest that money, power, and influence has distorted our judicial system. We the people should try to protect and demand justice more then we do. George Zimmerman demonstrated himself at his bond hearing as a liar in his reference to Trayvon's age. The apology was an insult to not only Tayvon's parents but to people of intelligence. I understand even his father's clout couldn't get him on the police force. I think he has psychological problems - I read something to that effect too. I believe in the right to bear arms, but I can see now where it could become a double edged sword when it ends up in the hands of a personality like George Zimmerman. I read in the past he tried to accost a police officer. That community protection service should never had condoned weapons for their officers. The officers should have been instructed to call the police when a suspicious person entered the premises. This is the age of cell phones! From whence does this community service get the right to permit it's officer's to carry a gun. Are they licensed to do so by the State? I should think they have opened themselves up to a law suit by the Martins.

You are a Hub Author I think you should start reading and watching news related information media a little more. Hence I will not make any more comments but will send only links for your edification. Sorry, I did read a very good article, might have been NewsFeed about the old man protecting his son from the law on 3 very significant occasions and why Florida police released the son of a judge after a young boy was shot to death. It is laughable that a retired judge says he will have to take a second mortgage to bail his son out. A retired judge next to me lives in a 700,000 dollar home not to mention his yacht. It was laughable when they brought George out in shackles to let an irate public think that they were not treating him with any favor. Everything coming from the Zimmerman side is fabricated lies. A 17-year boy was murdered. Much evidence on CNN and Nancy Grace cast a lot of doubt on what Zimmerman claims. So you think that CNN, Nancy Grace, and American Journalism have gone by way of the American Judicial system. You appear to be pro Zimmerman and anti Trayvon. Neither one of us was there. But a 17-year old unarmed boy was shot by a man with politically connected parents, father a judge, mother a court clerk, and a past record of 3 run ins with the law and being let off the hook. Unfortunately, I am color blind when it comes to people, consequently to me a 17-year old unarmed boy was murdered – period. I do have a prejudice – I do not like political influence and power overriding justice. I don’t care whether its chappaquddick or Sanford Florida. I am on Trayvon’s side. Nothing pulls me in the opposite direction at this point in time. Oh – I am a government employee – I know about pensions pal.

Trayvon was not murdered, killed accidentally during a confrontation that he might have started. Murder is premeditation, and there was none of that. Just because someone has a gun does not mean they are out stalking and planning to kill. would the situation be different if it had been a knife? What I am against is the insanity of many convicting and seeking revenge, when hundreds of teens are killed daily in stupid situations.
