The Illuminati: Real or Imagined

symbols and possible members

Conspiracy Theory or Reality: You Decide

According to wikipedia, the name refers to a purported conspiratorial organization which is alleged to mastermind events and control world affairs through governments and corporations to establish a New World Order. They are believed to be part of the freemasons as well as many different organized cults and are very rich, wealthy men who have extraordinary amounts of power due to that wealth. They have their own system of morals and standards and are a very secret society just as the Order of the Masonic Temple.

It's actual meaning is "to illuminate" or bring light to. Some claim that the eye symbol above the pyramid on our dollar bill is a sign of the Illuminati as well as the number 23. But honestly, the only symbol the Illumaniti have ever used is the owl of Minerva.

The illuminati is believed to want a one world government which is actually predicted in the Bible. According to the word of God, there will be a 3 1/2 year peace when the Anti-Christ comes forward. Could the Illuminati end up being connected to this prophecy?

A key figure in the conspiracy theory movement, Myron Fagan, devoted his latter years to finding evidence that a variety of historical events from Waterloo, The French Revolution, President John F. Kennedy's assassination and an alleged communist plot to hasten the New World Order by infiltrating the Hollywood film industry, were all orchestrated by the Illuminati.

In fact, many theories and ideas today have to do with the falling world economy. Some believe that the Illuminati are strategically controlling it and intend to take over after it completely falls apart.

The real question isn't whether it exists but if the conspiracy theories are true. The original illuminati was created in 1776 in Bavaria and was a secret society of freemasons wanting to overthrow the kings and queens of Europe. It is believed this order, not only survived but has grown stronger. During a time full of economic crisis, it is easy to find blame. Perhaps, this organization is getting false blame, I don't know.

My personal opinion is that it exists, but for me to say anything either way I would neither further proof. There have been rumors for years. If it does exist, it is still a secret society and how would we ever really stop it if it was meddling in world affairs and controlling the economy? Also, why would they want the world economy to suffer because so would their pocket books...

You tell me what you think....

The problem with the Illuminati as an explanation of certain aspects of the world as we see it is that they are utterly superfluous; the world (men in power, etc etc) could work the way it is purported to work without that pseudo-explanatory baggage. It is just another representative of most peoples' prone-ness to mysticism to explain things in the world. Thanks for sharing!

However, it has been proven that they at least existed around the early 1800's and there is much proof that they exist today.

I don't hold an opinion on the subject. I am always slow to pick up on conspiracy theories, which only means that I prefer a more optimistic approach to my fellow man. Your article flows very well, it is well-written and interesting.

The Illuminati is real and was started back in ancient times originally by the Egyptians, after the fall of Egypt the Babylonians took over Egypt, and then came the Greeks, and finally the Romans.

All these cultures took their share of ideas, sciences, arts, mathematics, humanities, medicines, skills of stone masonry , thoughts, beliefs and religious ideals as well as mysticism from Ancient Egypt, thus the reason for the pyramid symbol on the US dollar bill and many other obvious symbols through out Europe and worldwide.

The original masons were also Egyptian, and they built the pyramids which was their symbol of government as well as dominion & authority of all of the Earths human domains they governed back at that time, since they had felt at those times that their rulers were gods (pharoahs), it was simple to see why they would claim such victory, around 3500-4000BC.

The rise of free masonry was a sort of imitation copy of the true masons, who were actually their teachers by self prophetic examples.

The world was made new several times over, based on geological, and archaeological evidence, but only in the ways of mankind changing the ownership of global matters overall in terms of government & superiority of social civilized nations, and conquest for the ruler-ship of the globe.

So the New world order thing is actually a very old game that's been played over many many times, so that balance could be achieved some how within, the controlling powers that be, over all of humanity.

This is also the direct result of self fulfilling prophecies that many have conjured up as control mechanisms to sort of hold things under their governing authority, & by any means necessary, which would means global conflicts no matter the victor or ruler, as well as many other secretive plots to keep the masses under surveillance & under mental, spiritual, and physical control.

The titles of whom were responsible isn't important, what is important to note is that, because humanity will also have a flaw of possibly reaching over population, such an order much be re-enforced to establish balance once again. Entropy & enthalpy are scientific terms, but they also could help to show this point that I've discovered from doing years of intense research on the subject.

Order & Dis-order or shall I say organized Chaos is what the ancients have learned to master, and taught it too their master minds or leaders of each social structure to maintain the overall good and continuance of the species.

Sorry about a few typos there above, I tried correcting it, but I got to the bottom to late. Awesome hub indeed, and I will be following your hubs for sure. Voted up as interesting & awesome.

Oh my bad for the length of the hub as well, I was compelled to let it all out on this one, because I've completed this puzzle and chapter of hysterics many people get thrown off by, which is known as a conspiracy theory. I don't call anything as such until I get through all the evidence & historical research first, and I figured this one out about 4 years ago.

The conspiracy parts are coming from those who only have half of the truth and who try to taint it all, and twist it for self gain.

It really isn't about whether they exist or not; it's about the purported extent of "their" power and the things they are supposed to have a hand in. Having done "years of extensive research" means next-to-nothing, unless one can show that their story is objectively indistinguishable from all the other stories out there. It is attractive for those who are mystically-inclined to hold to such rubbish; but, ultimately, it holds no more objective validity than any number of countless mythologies; from the specifics of the gods of Norse myth, to Greek or Egyptian. No matter the words one uses to describe the phenomenon, without something to distinguish it (other than the common "well; it's obvious if you would just look", or, "you just don't want to believe" or...well we can go on and on) it is little different from the claims that one day there will be a battle to end all battles in the Valley of Meggido - or something like that.

thanks for the comments. I believe they have more power than what we think they do that is for sure.

Power is not true power unless it is forcefully expressed @ Smokes Angel, the control of the mind isn't true power it's just an elusive trick. So don't be fooled by tricks of this world, the only true powers over us humans are self controlled, and that of the masses being able to mobilize on moments notice.

Destructive weapons are mere threats, and god holds the ultimate last punch no matter which way anyone may type it or express it, no matter if you believe in such things or not.

Somehow you seem angry @ seigfried23, about what I've typed into the comment section here, but to no avail I take your feedback as a matter of opinion anyhow. Everything we learn is such that requires additional research and further investigation. Why would we learn anything for that matter, just to simply denounce ones findings as you've stated it to be.

History tells the story in many ways, and its your duty to yourself to discover, and uncover the truth from within the numerous lies in it all. "To thine own self be true".

Thanks for sharing. Alas, CloudExplorer - the fact that you seem to find anger in what I've typed says less about me, and perhaps more about you. There was no anger; your reply seems tailor-made to avoid the onus of objective proof that your assertions require, by spending quite a bit of time merely making new assertions. I could read the statements of someone else saying the exact opposite of what your research (as presented) purports, and there would be no objective distinction between the statements. In fact, this has been a trick used through the centuries for people to merely make statements, and presume that other should see them as true, precisely because they say so. I do not seek to dissuade you from your belief (that's virtually impossible; given the inherent nature of belief in general) just to show you that when you intend to proselytize, the onus is on you to provide evidence beyond merely saying "well I have found this to be true...". Absolutely; to thine own self be true...but the problem is, you're trying to be "true" to everyone else, as well. Good luck in your personal endeavors.

FYI... I do not angry over your opinion. In many ways I agree with you.

Oh no...not at all - didn't think you were angry at all. It was evident in CloudExplorer's post; it is those who make statements that they expect to be believed without correlating evidence, who mistake being rightly challenged, for anger. Why should anyone's belief that isn't harming another person anger me? The assertion was really just a desire to understand at least a portion of the fruits gained from his purported labors in reference to not the Illuminati's existence, but to the power they're supposed to hold sway over government today. All humans, man and woman alike, are fallible when it comes to research, due to emotional biases, shoddy work, subpar deductive abilities, etc; this is why research should be shared so that it can be scrutinized by a wide range of people before being touted as unmitigated "truth". For a lifetime physicist, student of government, politics, and a wide range of disciplines, I've seen too much dogma - from fellow physicist, biologist, politicians, armchair philosophers, etc - masquerade as truth, often from those with an emotional investment in believing something; sometimes even the perpetrators are unaware (or haven't bothered to articulate to themselves) of their own biases! I believe it was Lord Acton who said "absolute power, corrupts absolutely..."; many of things we see happening in the world simply need not be a result of the long-armed reach of some ancient, shadowy organization. With the reality that there are certainly psychopaths operating in government, the Illuminati (which maybe exist; or maybe not) is superfluous, in the absence of irrefutable evidence. Everything that works now, works that way without the assumption.

We should all be on guard from those that claim "to have seen further than anyone else" or "have uncovered through personal research", unless the reasons why follow the claim, opening themselves up to scrutiny and interpretation. At the very least, it means they acknowledge that any human, in principle, can err in research. But, as a whole, we do so much, much less.

Please consider the following:

Mega-rich families like the Rockefellers, who are reportedly worth $12 trillion dollars, are not interested in allowing the people of America to choose their leaders and policy-makers.

If you wonder why the status quo never changes in Washington D.C., you don't have to look any further than this. These people are so rich and influential, they believe they own the air you breathe and pretty soon they'll have you paying for the privilege.

Benjamin Disraeli (British Prime-minister mid-1800's)said in the House of Parliament, to the effect, that the common man would be surprised to find out that the one's responsible for running the governments and calling all the shots are far different than the ones he thinks is calling the shots.

And this is what David Rockefeller had to say: "Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as 'internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty; and am proud of it."

Then again, Former British Defense Minister, Denis Healey, stated, "World events do not occur by accident. They are made to happen, whether it is to do with national issues or commerce; and most of them are staged and managed by those who hold the purse strings."

Yes, 9/11 was staged and so is all the upheaval in the Middle East.

These people are members of the "Shadow Government" and are the puppet masters behind the scene. They run the show while Bush, Clinton, and Obama are nothing more than puppets on a string.

Best wishes - L.R.
