The Puzzle Pieces

Damn these puzzle pieces just don’t fit

Another mistake, twist this one a bit

Lay me down, I’ll take a hit

Toys in the tool kit are give and get

------------------------------------------------

Round peg in a square hole, no, not it

Sleepless the equity in this stock split

Cost of this game outweighs the benefit

Toys in the tool kit are give and get

----------------------------------------------

The bank shows major deficit

Negative balance with no profit

Can’t return pieces for any remit

Toys in the tool kit are give and get

-------------------------------------------------

Purchase is mine, I’m stuck with it

Too deep in to not commit

Learning the process I resubmit

Toys in the tool kit are give and get

-------------------------------------------------

So, gather my guts and all my grit

Nix to frustration, I will not permit

Play the game with free admit

Toys in the tool kit are give and get

-------------------------------------------------

We've all had those days (years?)!

Another good one!

Yes, it's true. I hope this doesn't come across "whiny", because it's meant to be positive in the end. An anthem to making the best of what ever comes our way, and rising above it. Thanks, Will!

Amy,

I love this song. It's actually on my Ipod as I loved it the first time I heard it.

You are so right, it is all what we make of it. Awesome work!

Thank you, Bel. I'd not heard this version of one of my favorites by Tom Petty. I love it, too. Thank you for always being there for me, Bel. You are an inspiration.

...well Amy you certainly make an extensive use of all these words that you pull from your creative kit bag - they seem like happy begging children, excited as they trip and fall, on their way to jump up on your poetic lap waiting anxiously to be the chosen ones - well you just have a way of putting words together - and you just have a way of delivering them in such a unique and clever rhythm ..... it's obvious that we humans, your followers, are just happy children too by delighting in your hubdelicious wordplay - and if there is one word to describe your life Amy - then you are a 'survivor' and we are so glad you are here at the Hub to tell us your tales of wisdom and regret and hope and sorrow!

I love your "hubdelicious" epigramman word! If anyone knows words, it is you, kind Mr. C. And, because you are the master of the written word, your words to me mean everything and are the cause of my jumping up and down for joy right now. Thank you, epigramman for this beautiful gift from you to me.

I know you won't lose the fight,

Wrong is wrong, and right is right.

Like they say in the movies, life is like a box of chocolates you never know what your gonna get. It's what we get and how we handle it that show the true signs of a survivalist and I can read between these lines that you are all of that:0))

So use your tool kit and git the best out of life, never give up, never give up. Keep the faith and you will always persevere. Happy New Year Amy..

drbj, very uplifting poetry you've got there! Thank you for your inspirational commentary. Up and at'em.

saddlerider1, my tools are clinking as we speak! Thank you for your support and Happy New Year to you!

Hi Amy, true grit here. We can rail all we want at the hand we're dealt(or we deal ourselves) but in the end we have to play it using all the toys in our tool kit. Some of the best inventions of our time were merely ways to make the best of a poor initial decision. If the pieces won't fit the puzzle, make another one where they will.

I enjoy your work very much. =:)

Thank you, Winsome. I love the name and photo. I appreciate you reading this and very much enjoy your work. The 2-year old analogy was brilliant and a truly fantastic read. I look forward to enjoying more of your writing in 2011.

"Just don't fit, twist this one just a bit." I love it. I'm afraid that describes my method of operation sometimes. This is excellent. the good ones make it look easy, and you are definitly gifted girl.

Yeah, Jim, I gave up on puzzles. I did everything but find the right damn piece. I'd try to jam those things together and end up scattering the whole thing back into the box. Thanks for your time and comments. Your new picture is killer.

Amy, I guess you realize I’m catching UP in your corner. I love this one. I believe we go through the phase where we twist the ones that just don’t fit, but then we reach the stage where we build our own pieces to become puzzles for others to build. Enjoy God’s blessings today! Tot weersiens!

Dear Martie, I'm glad you were on holiday, but, selfishly, I noticed your absense and missed you very much. Thank you for your perceptive comments. I got word from my daughter she needs her laptop back so if I don't talk to you for a little bit, that's what happened. Hopefully, I'll be back in my world before too long! God bless you, too!

superb! Once again you've tamed those words to tell the story. It reminds me of something I wrote called 'Jigsaw' about pieces of my life... you're brilliant!

Docmo, there is something about your words that makes me relive the emotions that inspire the piece. I hope "Jigsaw" is at your hub. I'm running there directly. You not only get it, you get it good! You are a bright star.

Amy, yes it was one of my early posts so not many read it ... Still there. I love your passion and spirit!

Thank you, Docmo. From here I'm going over to find it without letting anymore distractions deter me from my plan! Thank you for your words to me. Always look forward to hearing from you.

Life is a fun journey yet the bumps are sometimes enough to knock the wind out of you..... as long as the wind is still in your sail you will still move on when breath is back in your lungs.

I think you will love this song by the joys... trying to try.

Life is a struggle and a puzzle. I want to learn to fly like the singer sings. But there aren't any wings. Nice write Amy.

Neil, Appreciate your positive take on things. I'll check out the misic you sent, for sure. Evolving is good and continues until the journey is finished...maybe beyond.

Mickey Dee, I see your poetic soul. Are you biking to something/someone or away, Micky? No wings, but you sure fly. Thank you for your thoughtful commentary.

I thought I should mention again, you imagine a hunk in a vet.... and when I look at your photo I have my imagination running wild with nice thoughts too.

Keep on writing and shining your inner star, I like the way it glows.

Inside and out you are a gem!

Wow! I love the metaphor of a jigsaw puzzle. How true that is in life, sometimes! I love how we all "make due" with the puzzle we are given - trying so desperately to finish the puzzle and complete the picture. Just a wonderful image and metaphor. Thanks again! Your poetry always makes me think!

I'd forgotten about this one, Suzette. Thank you for finding it and leaving me a supremely encouraging comment. A diet of your inspirational sustenance makes me "fat and happy."
