Hello America Welcome to Poverty.

Source

Complain, Complain, Complain

So many people go around worrying about trying to keep up their extravagant lives that they conveniently forget those who have nothing. The poverty levels in America today are horrendous. I mean you got celebrities and government officials out there who make billions yet they complain about everything, as if they are never satisfied, must be a pretty vapid existence if you have everything you ever wanted, but still find flaws in every single little detail in your life. They should try living on the salary of a poor, working class, American family with children, who have nothing, but want nothing more than to keep her children safe and healthy. I doubt most of them would make it one minute living on wages like that, later on a whole day.

Look I am not saying rich people should give all their money away to the poor, that would be ridiculous. I just wish they would stop all their dang complaining. I just once want to hear a rich billionaire say I am so grateful for everything, and actually give from the heart, without counting it as a tax write off. Or by getting other people who are not nearly wealthy as them to donate, then give the donation as if the money came from themselves. Now that is greedy and deceitful. I myself have worked for some big companies in my life that did just that.

Give compassion another try, you might end up pleasantly surprised

I really feel for the poor, and it sickens me to hear people put them down. They get treated like dogs. People put them down them and act like they are a plague. Personally, I think sorry heartless people are the ones who should be avoided. You never know when the table could turn, it could very well be you. Not all poor people sit on their butts, and live the high-life, as a matter of fact, most of them work all the time. The only reason they get free government assistance is because they couldn't make it on their small paychecks alone. I mean this whole trend of putting people down for getting food-stamps is ridiculous, most people are embarrassed they even need them.

We all need to learn to have some compassion for tragedy and hardships put upon others. We are here to all share the world, and the only way to live a happy life is to have compassion and love for everyone in it.

...I mean really what is sparing that little bit of change you have in your dash gonna hurt....??????

This is the typical liberal or Democrat rant, I make six figures and have had over 30,000 dollars taken forcefully from my check this year! We have 50 million Americans on welfare! Not ONE has ever thanked me for supporting them all though they failed to take advantage of a free education, had children iresponsibly out of wedlock or made the choice to become crack heads and deadbeats! Proven statistic fact for you: poor conservative states give more than rich liberal states to the needy out of pocket! Bush gave several hundred thousand and in the same year Gore gave 500 lousy bucks! Rush Limbaugh and OReilly give MILLIONS while I wonder how much Bill Mahre gives?

I don't owe anybody anything! I pay for my bad choices, sometimes I CHOOSE to give to someone my heart goes out too like my old pastor who is currently out of work but trying hard to get a job. If your a single mother with a truck full of kids, no education and a deadbeat ex then why should I pay for your horrible misguided mistakes? ...........give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach him to fish and he eats for a lifetime! ...........learn that today!

I am neither Democrat or liberal, just someone with somewhat of a big heart. My parents where both dirt poor even though my daddy worked every single day,and he was not a crackhead, and actually most the people who get welfare don't need it which is what I said if you read it.I also don't receive welfare or anything else that is considered government help for that matter.I am not saying rich people should give handouts I was suggesting that people be a little more empathetic, and a little less critical of people they know nothing about.

HI Pretty,

I understand your anger.

So, where's the tribe, your group of people that you are forming to combat these inequalities in the world?

Can I join your cause?

What specific things do you suggest for a solution to the problem?

Cheers

Claptona I don't have a tribe just myself, and I suggest understanding and kindness for a solution, although it will never happen because there are so many different ways people feel about this subject.

After the big robbery, followed by the bigger robbery called a bail out we are headed for an even darker financial turn. The next turn is called inflation and it is already here. Technically nothing changes only your buying power becomes smaller each day. Around fifty percent of the population regardless of how much they earn or work is slowly achieving poverty. Wages do not keep up with the cost of living and we are forced to buy less at a time when we need to buy more to improve the economy. Technically no one loses anything it just becomes less valuable and soon you our buying a candy bar for two dollars. There is no shortage of anything and the cost of living starts rising like the cost of gasoline. A lot of people doing everything they have always done will soon find themselves not much better then those living on the street.

I think that there are people out there who give of themselves to others quietly and without a need for gratitude. I understand your sentiments about the rich, but only the noisy ones get the attention -- the same as for those less financially fortunate.

Hi Pretty,

The question begs to be asked - if you feel this way, why not try to change things?

Cheers

I am sad that your first comment on this hub was a rant. You wrote from your heart and this is a beautiful and meaningful hub. Keep caring, despite negative guys. What seems a no brainer to you will never compute with these close minded folk. Voted awesome and up!

storytellersrus,

I wasn't ranting, I was making a point, I did not dispute her writing, I made dispute over her words, She said I wish those same rich would stop complaining! The rich are the only ones with the RIGHT to complain! They pay all the bills, go to work everyday, and all they hear is how the govt and the poor want to take more of their hard earned toils! Very few of the "rich" in this country simply had it handed to them! Most made sacrifices that few understand! Most destroyed their families, credit etc. to get there, not to mention short lived lives because of the long tireless hours in getting started along with the mental strain! .......I know I owned a business that I started with 200 bucks and sold 18 years later while it was grossing over 650K a year!............the first 10 years I worked 365 days a year, missed my childrens birthday parties, and was back in my office 30 minutes after thanksgiving dinner! Not because I wanted to but because it was the only way to get the bills paid!

To American Romance I am so glad that money does not mean everything to me ,and I was talking about people being happy with what they got,and being more understanding to each others circumstances.I don't hate the wealthy just wish that they themselves could be happy which is why I said they should be grateful for what they got and appreciate that everyone isn't as fortunate as them.I mean how bad is it that someone can have two or three huge homes, even more cars than they got homes, and countless other things and complain about money. That just sounds stupid if becoming rich puts people in that state of mind then I never want to be rich.

I understand what you are saying. I have worked very hard for everything I have. I'm not rich by any means. i manage to pay my bills and I work every day all with a smile on my face and a thankful attitude. that I am still employed and haven't lost anything like so many americans have in this crappy economy. I feel sympathy for each and every person that has had to suffer a hardship, and haven't been able to bounce back.

Prettynutjob30,

Thank you for keeping middle-of-the-road in your blog. I glanced over some of the other comments and I disagree with many of them because I feel you were trying to see both the rich and the poor side of the equation. We all need to be thankful and give a bit more whether it's our money or just our time. And yes, many wealthy people lean on their riches and act as if it will always be there to support them. I try to act the same whether I have $1 in my bank account or $10,000 and that is with humility and thankfulness. Thanks for your message.
