We are all slaves and there is no freedom - PART 1

A proposal for a New Politico-Economic System

Past and Present Enslavement – Historical Facts

INTRODUCTION

Let’s face it. The possibility of the United Kingdom, the USA, or France being occupied by a foreign power by force of arms is far beyond the realms of possibility. Yet the nationals of these counties often refer to the fight for freedom, meaning from some foreign foe.

Unfortunately, the news from the front is not good. We have lost and we are already slaves living in a type of feudal system where the difference is that at least the Lord of the Manor does not practice droit du seigneur. At least not by right of law.

History has been modified or fabricated to an incredible extent and even serious historians have been brainwashed along with the rest of us into accepting those fabrications as historical facts. The few historians who question the official versions are branded as fringe scientists and do not readily find employment in well-paying learning institutions.

We are the slaves of ‘The Controllers’, the people who have our politicians in their pockets. The same politicians that we, the people, vote into office using our supposed democratic rights.

True democracy has nothing to do with what currently masquerades as such in our lives. This series of articles will attempt to lead you through an analysis of historical facts and original thought to the only possible way out of our current enslavement. To real and practical democracy and true freedom.

WHY AND HOW WE ARE ENSLAVED

Every industrialized or expanding nation will invariably sacrifice its young in wars, for the sake of better business opportunities for its privileged class. In order for the privileged class to achieve this, it must do away with all originality of thought in the majority of its citizens and to reduce its citizenry into a standardized herd, making it easier to manipulate. The benefitting businessmen watch with approval when the dead and crippled are honoured as returning heroes, but they rely only on their non-evadable taxes to pay for the relevant compensations.

The same privileged class though, is actually subjugated to the will of - and act as the retainers of - a small number of extra powerful financial institutions which have in their pockets the governments of most countries, including the leadership of the only superpower, the USA. I call them “The Controllers”.

In other words, the politicians who rule us are actually the representatives of this small number of financial institutions. In consequence we are, in fact, under occupation.

THE MODERN BEGINNING

Our modern world enslavement began, oddly enough, with the invasion and conquest of England by the Normans in 1066. The descendants of William the Conqueror’s original Norman barons and the subsequent French and German additions to that privileged class by William’s descendants, but more especially their bankers, have ruled our lives for almost 950 years.

Britain is a classic example of how peoples’ freedoms are taken away from them either by force of arms or through the use of the power of immense wealth (or both) and they are subsequently brainwashed into accepting the situation of their slavery as normal. I shall, therefore, use the British example to illustrate my point.

In the case of William the Conqueror, you have the illegitimate son and heir of a very wealthy man, the Duke of Normandy, who uses the rules of Feudalism to achieve even more wealth, power and glory than his father left him. He puts together a few ‘grands seigneurs’ with their vassals and their peasants and with just 7,000 men in total, he conquers and terrorises England. He keeps 25% of the total land for himself and divides the rest of it amongst his followers, whom he names as Barons. Naturally, he does this on the understanding that his barons will pay him taxes and provide allegiance and military service when needed. The penalty for non-compliance was the forfeiture of the lands, titles and lives of the Barons.

When the heavy taxation caused a few native Englishmen to revolt in York, the repercussion was simply genocide. The Normans slaughtered every human being they could find in York and because some managed to escape by running away, the Normans also slaughtered every living animal they could find, thereby depriving the survivors of any means of sustenance and condemning them to a slow death by hunger. On his deathbed William confessed that this reaction had been ‘somewhat excessive’.

How do some members of the English population of today react to this atrocity? They vie amongst themselves to prove descent from the Normans. Even the idiotic hero of P. G. Wodehouse, Bertie Wooster, proudly makes a reference to his ancestors coming over with William the Conqueror, acknowledging in fact that the descendants of those barons still ruled the land at his time. Some Scottish and Welsh people appear to be an exception to this and still yearn for ‘freedom’, mainly because the conquerors at some stage decided that it was less troublesome if they would actually learn to speak English, which they began to do in the 15th century.

The descendants of those Barons established by William 950 years ago still rule the fortunes of the British people and to a great extent have been instrumental in creating the ruling class which controls the lives of the rest of us today. The feudal system is alive and well in a 21st century edition.

WHAT IS FREEDOM?

It is an error to refer to democracy and freedom in the same context. Anarchy would be a system which comes closer to freedom, but then even anarchists do not agree on what form anarchism should take

The politicians would have you believe that democracy in its current form is freedom. However, democracy relies on the illogical principle that 50% plus 1 people can impose their will on the other 50% less 1, without causing discontent, unfairness and one sided corruption with potential revolt lurking in the background; and the politicians would also have you believe that by voting, you are determining your own future. In fact what we get is equivalent to being given a car without a steering wheel. A car which is operated by the remote controls of organized and manipulated media, brainwashing, patriotic hype, shamelessly blatant propaganda and downright lies.

The politicians rely on the fact that freedom, in its purest form, is frightening; as it would mean the right to do whatever we wish freely, without any restrictions. That comes under the heading of anarchy in the Greek meaning of the word, meaning without a leader. This, however, would entail serious dangers because others must essentially have the same right. But having the same right to do whatever these others might wish freely might mean that these others might end up robbing and killing the rest of us, as in the case of William the Conqueror.

At the end of the day we sacrifice our freedom for the sake of a MEASURE of safety from roaming bandits who might have the strength to take everything from us, including our lives, by allowing a ruling class to manipulate and rob us at will, but within manageable feudal limits.

So, politicians rely on the fact that true freedom is potentially too costly an experiment to attempt, because it might potentially lead to slavery or death.

Ergo, there is no such thing as freedom

The words democracy, patriotism and religion are the basic tools in the arsenal of all crooked politicians. So when you come across a political party which calls itself “Christian Democrats”, or “Muslim Brotherhood” hold on to your wallet very tightly. If the word “Patriotic” is added to the name and it becomes “The Patriotic Christian Democratic Party” or “The Patriotic Muslim Brotherhood”, then emigrate as soon as possible.

DEMOCRACY

To be continued…

You knocked the ball out of the park with this one! We are certainly under occupation and because we were born to it, we tend not to see it. You make a very interesting point about heritage and the pride of Norman descent when compared with the reality of history. Our need to identify with 'the winning side' is responsible for our going like sheep to the slaughter. History being rewritten to accommodate our visions of ourselves (and it's across all cultures) is certainly a handy-dandy tool for the Lords of Commerce.

Fringe thinking? Not a chance! I've included a link to the latest on this issue: http://www.alternet.org/corporate-accountability-a...

This is a great article however I would venture to suggest that if you talk about Britain then our enslavement and loss of freedom started long before the coming of the Normans.

Take a look at the Romans who were every bit as bad to all who opposed them and they were the first to stamp on the neck of the native Britons. What was even worse they brought their new religion to our shores and enforced conversion on pain of death.

I look forward to reading more of this article but I hope you will not exclude the role of organised religion in modern enslavement and loss of freedom. We all know modern day politics is a joke and an insult to the definition of democracy and it contaminates all who come in contact with it. What’s the alternative a return to religion ? We can all see how well that is working is the Middle East.

Truth is we don’t really have a workable alternative, not one that we will ever get behind and make work. Truth is most people are happy in their enslavement, or laziness or ignorance, whatever we want to call it because life tends to be reasonably comfortable for most people who only have to vote (or not) every four years or so.

One day the system will push too far and the floodgates will break into revolution, it has happened many times before and will undoubtedly happen many times in the future purely based upon the old adage, “Power corrupts, Absolute Power corrupts absolutely.”

SilverGenes, thank you for the visit and for your encouraging comments. I also thank you for the link you have provided.

I think that the articles which will follow will provide more inside into what is actually happening around us and will finally propose a solution which can resolve the issues addressed here and offer a workable solution.

I hope that you will have the patience to read to the end…;- )

Friend Merlin, you are correct of course, but as I said this is an analysis of how we, the people of the 21st century, ended up as slaves.

The descendants of the previous occupiers have been erased from the map. We are now ruled by the descendants of William the Conqueror and the bankers who took advantage of his descendants.

Keep an eye open for the next parts and you will understand what I mean. Many thanks for passing by and for commenting so well ;-)

OMG, Dimitris - I've read only half of this and I simply had to tell you right away how good it is. Yes, yes, yes. I'm going to finish reading & digesting it - then will be back to comment further. There are some thoughtful comments I will be reading, as well.

I'm so glad you're writing, besides. The rest of the series should be excellent.

De Greek, I have the patience of Job when it comes to solving this world wide dilemma. Your hubs about the situation in Greece are so good that I can hardly wait to see the rest of this series.

christopheranton - I have just received an email from my oldest friend who disagrees with me and we have started a private "argument' by email about this. I do not expect everyone to agree with me. In fact, by teh time I finish I expect to get a great deal of abuse, but if we do not try to go forward, even by a single step, we shall die of stagnation ;-)

Many thanks for reading and commenting.

SilverGenes - I shall be saying things later on which might seem hurtful to some Brits, but I assure you that everything is based on actual historical facts freely available to anyone who is willing to research. However, these facts are not stated outright, YOU REALLY HAVE TO DO RESEARCH if you want to get to the truth behind what they are actually telling us and what they (our masters) want us to believe.

The Internet has given us a power to spread the word. We never had this power before. i hope that we can use it for the sake of our children if not for ourselves. ;-)

Today Hub Pages, tomorrow THE UNIVERSE!!! ;-)))))

So good to see you back in print, Dimi. This is a very thoughtful beginning for the articles to follow. You know you already have me hooked. Now I look forward to your further expositions and potential, if there are any that are viable, solutions.

SilverGenes 4 years ago

Now that Portugal has joined the demonstrations in Europe, I had to come back and see if you had the next chapter up yet. As for being hurtful, that will only apply if we are married to our image as a nation. This is really about PEOPLE and not nations. You are quite right about the research - it's very difficult to sort through and find the facts. There are myriad interpretations according to national agendas but precious little that is unbiased. If you have sources you deem reliable, please include them. I'd like to learn a lot more about how we got here.

drbj - as your ex fiance I get a special feeling of pleasure when I see you here. I hope that I might be able to convince you of the viability of my solutions and if so, that you will pass the idea around in teh hope that something can be done. Kiss you ;-)

SilverGenes - my intention is not to hurt. I have the greatest admiration for the inventiveness and ingenuity of the British people and I feel that they deserve so much more than their repeatedly corrupt governments have given them.

It is necessary to first analyse the past before I make a suggestion for the future. I only hope that if any agree with my proposal they will pass it on in the hope that something will finally be done.

Fantastic hub and practically an engaging one. It is nice I came here. Hoping to read more of this. I noticed the so many immigrants in the UK (London in particular) when I was there... The fear of occupation is in fact needed to take necessary steps to avoid total infiltration. Nice hub friend.

Very intriguing, De Greek. The tribal warrior nature of humanity plays itself out again and again in the historical record and continues today. Can it be overcome by the opposing social side of human nature, by education and reason? I don't know, and I don't expect an answer in my lifetime.

History is not really my strong suit, but I hold the general view that the success of the United States and "the great democratic experiment", to the extent that it has been successful, wouldn't have been possible without the cultural influence of the mother country, your country. The other obvious influence, of course, was the original democracy, ancient Greece. These points being made, I agree that modern democracy is quite flawed and your observations on it are generally valid. I await your suggestions on how to improve what we call democracy.

This article is a great catalyst for critical thinking and discussion on an important topic.

De Greek profile image

De Greek 4 years ago from UK Author

i scribble - Unfortunately Greek democracy of old was only for Greeks and it was based on the enslavement of everyone else who was either not a Greek, or who did not agree with them.

We have come a long way since then and we should be able to formulate true democracy far more practical and fair than the original one.

You are correct that our human nature is our greatest obstacle. but we must at least try, don't you think? :-))

We are being screwed. :) Today it is the politicians and governments who practice "droit du seigneur" by imposing laws and taxes that benefit the few. So what else is new? Like Hitler who publish his political ideology in Mein Kampf long before he put it to practice, the elites have written, publish and spoken about their agenda in their pursuit for economic and political power. Is it their arrogance or our complacency that is to blame?

De Greek profile image

De Greek 4 years ago from UK Author

SilentReed - I think that we allow it to happen because most of us cannot believe that greed on this magnitude is possible. I really do not know how so much greed can exist. But recognizing the truth now, we can at least try to find solutions and alternatives ;-)
