We cant control the illness. We can control the guns!

We can control the guns!

NYTimes op-ed by Nicholas Kulish

The large magazine weapons used by Cho in the Virginia Tech massacre are not used for hunting. They are not used for target shooting. Their only use is by drug lords and nutcases like Cho to kill people. He should not have been sold the guns or ammunition. Our handgun laws are full of holes, underfunded and poorly enforced. Horrific incidents like the one at Virginia Tech aren't even the main problem. People die every day in our cities in drug wars, robberies, car jackings, child gun accidents, suicides drive-by shootings as a result of our legislators' failure to pass and enforce effective handgun control laws.

What do you know about the subject? Obviously NOTHING!

One of the guns he used is currently my competition piece (you know...sanctioned events w/refs and the whole 9 yards). The other is very much a target shooting firearm, and plinkers/target shooters is the market the manufacturer targets.

Shut your mouth if you dont know what the hell your talking about.

I know what I'm talking about I have an Expert Rifleman (M1) badge and an Expert Pistol (.45) from the U.S. Army. I got my first shotgun at age 12. I currently own a Model 12 Winchester and a Remington .22 bolt action repeater. The weapons you are talking about are not necessary for hunting or target shooting. None are used for major target shooting events such as the Olympics. But they are the favorites of drug gangs and gun nuts like you. As a result of inadequate and poorly enforced gun control laws unnecessary killings, suicides and accidents are taking a heavy toll in cities across the land. That's why most police agencies and a majority of Americans support more effective gun control laws. And I am a strong supporter of legitimate hunting and target shooting guns.

Always remember that the true weapon is found between your ears if you’re willing to do what is necessary to survive any encourter with those who wish to do you or yours harm. A tool is just a tool, whether it is a baseball bat or a gun [although guns do make really, really fine survival tools.]

Well, it seems like a lot of people who don't "have much between the ears" are walking around with guns.

That's a good one! Chris Rock is one of my favorites.

Love his point about how we once separated us and guns from the crazies .

As an aside, Rock no longer projects that intense urban persona—I'm thinking of his latest movie with the French woman.
