What In The World Will Obama Say Next?

Thank Obama Google & Facebook

Take Credit Where Credit Is Due...

I almost fell out when I read the headline. This is what it said: Obama: ‘Google, Facebook Would Not Exist’ Without Government Funding. Well I'll be, and I bet he believes that Al Gore invented the internet too! A companion article ran on the same page about how one of the founders of Facebook is frightened about the future of the internet because of the government. You see according to this big government, socialist mentality Democrat the government is responsible for everything, and all innovation, that occurs in the private sector. Sometimes I wonder if Obama still has that coke spoon on a gold chain around his neck where we can't see it.

I wonder what Steve Jobs thinks about Obama's claim? All the techie gurus in the nation must be shaking their head in amazement that such a stupid statement is made by the President of our country.

Lets place the remark to where it was said and why. He was out on the campaign fund raiser trail he's never been off of it since January of 2009 and was being critical of the Republican budget penned by Paul Ryan, passed by the House of Representatives then sent to the US Senate where Harry Reid will never allow any budget bill to come to the floor. He was in a pout because Ryan's budget would cut research. You see Obama doesn't believe anything needs to be cut in the way of his pattern of excessive spending. His proposed budget increased spending. Has anyone told him we're broke and one of the primary reasons is the sheer size of the federal money munching monster?

Maybe what he should be doing instead of fund raising and dishing out more empty rhetoric is to be in the nation's Capitol being a leader. Looking at the mess he has created he needs to attend Leadership 100 and work up from there. It appears that one of the criteria of being elected is to raise a billion dollars and leadership be damned.

Picture Of The Debt Monster Taken Recently

Obama went on to say Ryan’s budget would gut “an advanced, responsible society.” Now I have to also question that statement because just how much responsibility has he displayed in creating an additional $6 trillion in debt in such a short amount of time? Who does he expect to repay that money? It is going to fall on the shoulders of our children, their children and their children's children. And I am to believe that is responsible conduct? He is intent of continuing to spend money that we, the US tax payer, do not have for him to spend.

Oh he went even further, this President who doesn't have a clue on the founding of this nation and the attitude and abilities of those who began this great nation. He thinks like this, "The 'vision' portrayed by the Ryan budget is of an America where everybody is fending for themselves, a few are doing very well at the top, and everybody else is struggling to get by.' What has made America great is our ability to innovate and create, take care of ourselves and our families (he calls it fending for yourself), and the opportunity to rise to the "top" if you are willing to do the work to get there. This nation is known as "The Land of Opportunity." Has he forgotten that? Of course, I don't think he's ever really held a "real job" in his life. In case Obama has failed to notice, his "everybody else" are right now struggling because his lack of effective policies and bankrupting of our nation. He forgot to mention that.

Smoke & Mirrors Man

The Distortionist-in-Chief also stated the following, “the government is shrunk to the point where things that we take for granted as a society -- as an advanced, responsible society -- are gutted: education, science and research, early childhood education, caring for our environment, looking after our veterans, keeping up with our infrastructure, rebuilding our roads and our bridges so that they’re safe, food safety laws, our capacity to enforce basic consumer protections. All of this is shrunk to the point of near invisibility.”

Let me see here. Obama is "supposedly" a constitutional scholar. Actually he was a guest lecturer at the Chicago University College of Law and by no means a professor or associate for that matter. That is a fabrication on his resume. He appears to be totally fabricated. If that was so he would know that the US Constitution defines the role of the federal government as being "limited." The way things are going with his executive orders and signing statements he doesn't want to adhere to the basic principles found in our founding law.

Not Funny But We're Heading In That Direction

The facts are that we do indeed need to cut spending. We can't afford to be everyone's Nanny. Historically that has never worked. Obama has a tendency to rewrite history to his own liking. We can no longer afford for our federal government to be everything to everybody. That was never intended to be the role of the federal government in the first place. This nation was founded as a Republic where it was power down to the lowest level, not the opposite of that.

Looking at the National Debt Clock recently we all might be better off if the federal government was reduced to a level of near invisibility. It is the people of this nation, :We, the People...," who have made this nation great, not some money munching federal bureaucracy who is intent of soaking the citizens of this nation in the form of higher taxes in order to continue spending money that we cannot afford to spend. Our greatness can be measured many times over by the spirit of the people, not by the size and wastefulness of having an over reaching Nanny. Our nation has endured many times in recent decades despite the federal government, not because of it.

The Sign Of The Times

Obama refuses to make the tough choices needed to curb, then cure, the mounting federal deficit. He seems to give lip service to it only and doesn't take the lead in doing what most people know needs to be done. But then he is an advocate of a bigger and bigger federal government that wants to control every facet of our lives. His policies have stymied an economic recovery that should have already occurred. Just the costs in jobs lost is too high a price to pay for his Keynesian approach to economics. We went through the same failed economic policies with Jimmie Carter and Obama is making him look like a choir boy.

There is nothing wrong with dreaming to be successful. The key to being successful is having the drive and motivation to get out there and do the work that is necessary to succeed. No Mr. Obama, it isn't the government that created Facebook and Google, or even allowed them to happen. It was the innovative spirit and determination of some rather fine entrepreneurs who made that happen. Maybe even despite the actions of the federal government. I guarantee you that our Founding Fathers and Obama are at opposite ends of the spectrum about the role of the federal government in our lives.

Lest We Not Forget Reality

It's now time to buck up and do what is necessary to right our fiscal ship. You really can't have your cake and eat it too, despite any way Obama wants to spin it. When the cookie jar is empty it is empty. Obama wants to keep dishing out the goodies when the jar is empty. How is that supposed to work? Then for how long can it last?

As Always,

The Frog Prince

Remember In November!

Too bad the government can't use extreme couponing when it's out spending tax payer money. Now THAT would be a reality show I'd watch: "Your total for 3 helicopters, 5 tanks, and a platoon of soldiers is $53.9 million." "I have coupons" tap...tap...tap, "Ok, your new totla is $12.6 million, thank you for shopping with us, please some again." :o)

Doesn't it just urk you that the administration has known about the GSA scandal for 11 months and did nothing about it, allowing "criminal" spending to go on even after they were aware of the problem, on top of that remember almost half the money they spent was borrowed!- like anyone who gets arrested for the first time committing a crime you can bet that that wasn't the first time they committed the crime - this fraudulent spending in government has been going on for a generation that I know of, having known Federal government employees back in the "70's who bragged about how it was common practice to fraudulently blood suck off government expense practices. The Government bureaucrats really do foster a Culture of Corruption throughout government and there is nothing we can do about it - except root it out by cutting this bloated government.

Another great hub page Frog - luv the debt monster!

TT - What a novel idea. I wonder if it would work? Oh never mind...

tsadjatko - They got stimulus money, blew through that and went back to Obama for more. He gave it to them.

Obama happens to be right. Without government funding, we would have no computers and no Internet.

Just keep telling it like it is, Jim, as in this excellent article. If enough folks read this, it would make a real difference. The government funded Google and Facebook? Who knew? Not even Google and Facebook!

Since Obama and his family takes advantage the same way the GSA does/did why would he blow the whistle. He only did now because they foolishly got caught. And now that he mentioned google and facebook - makes it scary that their days might be numbered. His previous picks have bit the dust.

Sid, I thought Al Gore invented the internet - if you know so well what would happen without government help, in other words can predict the future, why don't you outline for us all the things the government should be helping with, remembering that they are now borrowing 40% of every dollar spent to "help" with anything - come on, tell us how that makes sense and then I'll give you a list of all the things the government has helped with that makes things worse - starting with Obamacare.

A close look at what Obama has ever said would make any reasonable person question that anything he says could be right.

Obama could care less about the health of our fiscal ship. In fact, judging from his behavior I believe he wants to see us capsize. Up and awesome.

SidKemp - We're broke. You get that concept? Tell Steve Jobs or the other techie gurus that and they'd laugh in your face.

tsadjatko - Evidently Sid doesn't acknowledge that the free market system works like it does.

BPOP - It's all hands on deck time to get rid of his bad ideas along with he himself.

Oh Frog,

In 1964, I had no idea what this all meant. I was 3yo... now to listen to this YouTube brings tears to my eyes as I think of my 3yo great niece and the mess that will be left her and that generation...I know why Mom was so nuts about Reagan, as I am about you...UP and UI, mar.

breakfastpop "Health"? - I think Obama has a different definition of health than the rest of us - To him health as in:

Do you see a pattern here? I do. Maybe we could communicate better with him if we understood HIS dictionary. Not Webster's dictionary but the Lib-ster's dictionary.

Frog, Are you telling me that Al Gore didn't really invent the internet? If that is true, it not only spoils my day, but I have to scratch yet another hero off my list. Now I'm sorry I even read this hub. LOL

Another great post. Central economic planning never works, because the planners are too far from the transactions to make them wisely, and they have no skin in the game (they are "investing" other peoples' money, and not for the taxpayers' gain, but to obtain campaign kickbacks from investees and votes from localities that benefit from the largesse). Ultimately, central economic planning leads to socialism (loss of social freedom in addition to economic freedom), as central economic planning cannot continue forever without muzzling the discontent of those who speak out against the harm it causes. This is a main point progressives never understand. Their precious "social freedom" is in constant danger of extinction due to the absence of economic freedom they so highly extoll. It's an unbalanced equilibrium, that ultimately leads to revolution that brings down the populist cult leader, or tyranny that removes all freedom, social and economic.

Sadly, the progressives took Founder intent and flipped it on its head. The idea was that economics was supposed to be a matter of "peaceful anarchy" (essentially, a free auction market), and social behavior was to be constrained to maintain a civil society (ordered liberty). Progressives believe in the exact reverse - a "planned" economy and unrestricted social freedom no matter how immoral or perverse. But as stated, a planned economy cannot persist long term without stripping away ALL social freedom, even the amount conservatives would support. Although the dimwits in the MSM call it "Populism," the end result is truly socialist dictatorship. If you look at the blatant violations of vertical and horizontal separation of powers going on as we speak, we already live in a nation of tinpot dictators. We are far closer to socialism than many people realize.

Frog: Ya know, Jim, without government funding, there would be no I.R.S. to confiscate Willie Nelson's stuff and no federal grants for police departments around the country to buy big bang-bang toys, form militarized SWAT teams, and gun down citizens and dogs in their own homes while supposedly serving search warrants.

Now, THERE'S a concept I could live with.

Well said Mr Frog, America has always been a country of, "We the poeple", its a self-government nation. The government has never been anything but a necessary evil in America, this fact is confirmed by the words and actions of the founders. The greatness of America has always been about the poeple and their God and never about the government!

wba - It's time that we made the "necessary evil" much smaller and far less intrusive.
