What is to Be

Inevitable Change

Living high, newly free, saunter city jauntily

Cruising eyes land, yeah, on me

Hope eternal without chains to flee

I knew not yet what was to be

------------------------------------------

On wings and a prayer I fly carefree

But life collects its due reciprocity

Work and a roof, no guarantee

I knew not yet what was to be

------------------------------------------

Trust in karma, the powers that be

Looked on me kindly, caressed gently

Blinded by false sense of security

I knew not yet what was to be

-------------------------------------------

Doors slammed and I had no key

Stranger in a foreign land of anomaly

My path not straight, but I could see

I knew not yet what was to be

--------------------------------------------

The moon and tides hold destiny

Where once a friend, now enemy

Pulling me down, lost to the sea

I knew not yet what was to be

-------------------------------------------

Confidence replaced with fragility

Planets align deigning instability

Control just a remote ideology

No one knows what is to be

------------------------------------------

Can't see nothin' round here

....this absolutely exquisite poetic labyrinth proves one thing for sure - you are pushing all of my cerebral buttons to make my mind work overtime in order to read it over once again and try to decipher the complexity within - and you know - I just love it - the way I love your audacious writing style! Bravo Ms. Amy - and at the next class your favorite student will bring you a nice apple!!!!!

"No one knows what is to be". Karma has an ebb and flow to maintain balance. I have to believe that the pull of negative forces will be offset by good forces. Hopefully sooner than later. It must. Thanks again for sharing.

Epi, your comments are poetry in the best sense of the word. You could make a mint as a book or movie critic. Every time I see a J. Peterman catalog and I read each and every descriptive art, I think of you. Thank you for making my day.

Augustine, I think my "ebb and flow" got stuck in the "blows" mode. Things will change, the screw will turn and I'll be back in the saddle again! I believe.

Thank you for your words of encouragement and support.

Life is full of more twists and turns than Chubby Checker in a blender. No one knows. Keep your head above the noise. Be the love you are. God bless Amy!

Thank you, MD. Just what the doctor ordered, the perfect concoction of humor and great advice and wishes. Peace and love to you

That is the fun part about life, it can be scary, it can be fun, it can be what we choose to make of it many times. I'd probably not like it any other way. But when we have adversity then many times we get up, dust off and hunt for the solution which sometimes comes from an area we never expected. Hole your head high and good things are bound to come your way. Lovely, lovely poem.

Hi, Amy. Do hope you are in a better place today. Someone once said if we don't have unhappy times occasionally then we won't really appreciate happiness when it arrives.

I say - bull s**t. Give me the happy times every day.

Whatever the sadness it will pass. I have spoken. :)

BobbyRant, I agree wholeheartedly. Life is exciting, always. I, also, wouldn't change a thing...Christmas everyday in that you just never know...a wonderful gift, life is. Thank you for your comments. They are so life-affirming and good for the soul.

Hi, drbj, I don't mind my share of the bad, and it certainly does put the yin and yang of life in perspective...and, yes, it can always be worse. Ultimately, I am an optimist and the sun is shining today! My thanks to you, who has spoken

Life is a daring adventure -- or it is nothing. Amy you open yourself up and take in the whole great adventure, then share it so we join your journey, even for a little while.

Cause and Effect, ebb and flow - yin and yang.... life exposes itself even when we "think" that we wish it would stop.

Keep on sharing - you are beautiful.

LOL OK I misspelled 'hold' your head. I'm the only one with a 'hole' in my head around here. ;0) I gotta proof read better.

Actually, BobbiRant, it's one of those things that could have escaped as a clever witticism, because most days my dog hears me say, "I need that like another "hole in my head"!
