While There is Life, There is Hope

"The world is full of suffering. It is also full of the overcoming of it." Helen Keller

I am writing this article because of many reasons, but the main fact strives in another share from Facebook, which is the picture at the side. The words that were written are: “SOLO ALGUIEN SIN CORAZÓN NO LE DARIA LIKE” which means “Only someone without heart will not give like”.

Imagine all the comments that it is receiving. One of them repudiated, if the purpose was for gaining likes. Another one said that he/she will not give like to something like this. The last comment I want to share is an argument of how can a person know about the feelings from a heart just for a like. I am not giving a free advertisement to Facebook (actually I see the bad and the good about it, but I do not need it to be alive). My statements toward this picture, when I saw it, are what I want to share.

I invite you to observe once again the picture. How lovely she is with her pinky girl style around her. Oh, and did you see what she is doing…”fishing”. Perhaps the first thing we see is illness, sickness, pain, even death. But if you have another real close look…you will see a girl living her life out of bed, with enjoyment of being outdoors. Look at her eyes! They reflect more life than many of us that walk, run and work, but when one nail hurts, we do not want to move a finger in our behalf.

How many complaints we scream daily without any option. An option that is right in front of our nose, and that option my friend is life! We do not celebrate life, instead we cry because we do not have, nor see what we want. We see death around the corner, not the life that is still within. We do not count our blessings; all we do is talk about our miseries. Yes, I know somebody said it, but I have lived it and I know it is true for there then, repeat it.

Humanity One World

Love

Feeling a deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering is known as compassion. That feeling should go along with real good acts of love. Love, the word that everybody needs to live by what it means. Love, the reason for why our Creator saved us. Love, the reason for the H.O.W. movement.

I like to be around fog. It gives a mystery sensation. It offers a slight peace. The inspiration of being in an unpredictable moment. That likeness made me, many times, run on back of the fog that was seen from long distances. One day I realized that right in front of my porch, just looking out through the window…it was there. I was not aware. Perhaps, because we do not see what we have. We think that the good is out far away from us. There is a formula in our heart that goes like this:

Faith + Hope + Love = Life

There are many quotes and many of them inspire us, my advice is to write them down, or memorize them. They are tools to help us see when the fog blinds us. Mohandas Gandhi said:

"You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops in the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty."

Do you have hope?

While there is life there is hope

While there is life there is hope!

  • Hope of healing
  • Hope of justice
  • Hope of repentance
  • Hope of redemption
  • Hope of doing
  • Hope of having what is not seen

Let’s try to focus and enjoy the fog in our life. Not everything is clear, not everything is perfect. It sure is reality and not a fantasy. It is sure here in our now, not far where it cannot be found and that is life waiting to be lived in love.

Big Internet hug and blessings to all!

I look at this picture and I think of our stylistic notion of hell -- all fire and brimstone and unquenchable thirst. But I think of that and I say we would adapt, it would just seem normal after a time.

But not if we had not Hope. While Love is the greatest of these, Hope is the cornerstone.

Thanks for a great hub. (I think facebook is a good place to get a read on our general populace)

Ericdierker thanks for reading and writing down your thoughts. You quoted 1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." This is why I say: " While there is life there is hope; hope of healing, of justice, of repentance, of redemption; of doing, or having what is not seen." We do not see love until we have it and give it away.

She is the epitome of hope, being able to laugh despite the toughness. Like you, I see the good and bad of sharing. The good is in the raising of awareness.....the bad, doing so for the sake of a like and being popular. I guess the key is intent. Thanks for sharing! Passing round.

Truth rings a bell in this hub...while there is life, there is hope. We contemplate on life and worry too much about the future. However, it is here, it is now.

"Life waiting to be lived in love" ----

What a delightful read! Absolutely voting up and sharing the love.

I generally cry at good commercials with dogs. I generally shy away from sappy sentimental stuff.

But I remained on follow here and found a blissful wishing of good intentions. I feel better just reading the love. Lastheart the gift you were given you are not wasting. Angels fly high, but the ones that make a difference land right there on our noses. I have thankfulness in my heart.

Ericdierker that is so nice. Hope you are doing well and your family. I read a question the other day that asked, if Hub Pages wasn't paying will we still write. Actually money here is less than the money that the beggar gets at the corner. The thing is that sharing our thoughts and experiences here is more fruitful than money.

Rolly A Chabot nice to read you around here. My heart was touched and that is why I wrote this little article, trying to awaken in us the blessing of being alive. Thanks for encouraging.
