Why I decided to start from scratch
I have been on HubPages for a number of years now and if you are reading this, you are probably wondering why I don't have more Hubs. On the other hand, if you have been following me for some time, you may be thinking what happened to most of my Hubs. The answer is simple, although there are a few pieces to the puzzle. I am not going to blabber on about everything but I do want to state a few important things that I have learned.
I unpublished many of my political Hubs, actually to be honest, I unpublished almost all of them. I did this not because I don't have the fire anymore, not because I don't have a voice but because I wanted to put away the venom, the visceral contempt that was apparent in my view of those who don't think as I do. I still consider myself of liberal views but I cannot deal with the negativity of the back and forth. I took some time away from writing for myself and decided to go back to school. I have been studying Business with a focus in Organizational Leadership, and I know, I know, you may think it's funny or weird that an anti-establishment, anti-corporate greed liberal is studying a craft he is suspect about. But it has helped me understand and solidify my own positions.
Upon gaining the knowledge of how business and corporations truly work, you find out how little both the average Democrat and/or Republican understand. As a side observation, the educated elites in the liberal and libertarian classes understand it very well though. Additionally, and this is strictly first person observation, I have seen that so called Independents seem to have a more centered understanding, which I think would be expected, yet I may be wrong. The funny thing is (now please don't take this as me being smug) that in my observations I have found many people still cannot correlate how the global world truly works, and sadly those who run the political air waves and those in and of the government, seem the least knowledgeable, maybe that is on purpose but maybe not. Yes, I understand I am not the first to make a statement like this, one about the state of our Nation State (see what I did there? lol). Anyway, I have gone away from myself, the point is, my views are more solidified through understanding rather than passion now and hence I removed my old political posts.
I am in total agreement with the thought process that we have a critical thinking problem in this country. We have an education brain drain. Throughout our country, it is draining into a mental landfill never to be accessed again but this is not across the board but instead selective and perpetuated by those in power in both the government and the corporate worlds. In the end, a population that cannot critically think for itself, that lacks the power to read, the power to write, the power to understand and be a part of the legislative process, is a population destined for enslavement. Is this the future we want for ourselves? Do we want to live in a police state that funnels the taxes of the general population to the top elites? It isn't about class war. It isn't about jealousy. Our quality of life, our future depends on the involvement of everyone not just the minority of those on top.
I mention these things because I have decided that I cannot speak my views and be heard, if I myself am not using the critical thinking skills I have been given. So, instead of leaving up the emotionally charged and overly optimistic posts from the past few years, I have decided to write as the grown up version of myself (I cracked a smile there, just so you know). I have also decided that my creative writings are of more import as well. So, I will still post my thoughts on topics outside of fiction but will do so in a more balanced way from now on, not just for the reader but for my sanity as well. Keep reading, debating and learning, oppression only happens when you submit.

to sum it up would be a travesty
Throughout history, Myth and storied fiction the struggle for individual and/or social liberty is well documented. Take for example The Declaration of Arbroath, which was completed in the 13th century by Bernard of...
