Manny Is At The Table

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, September 15, 2014. Our dear friend, Praying Mantis Manny, is at the breakfast table. He recently learned that the families of beheaded American journalists, James Foley and Steven Sotloff were threatened by the Obama Administration, if they made any attempt to free their sons. Manny has asked for the pleasure of your company this morning. He wants to discuss this situation over cheese omelets and Bloody Marys. We hope to see you soon.

Outrageous!!

Thank you all for coming to the breakfast table. It was just revealed that the Obama Administration threatened the families of the beheaded American journalists. The Foleys and the Sotloffs were told that if they attempted to strike a deal with ISSA to facilitate the release of their children, they would face criminal charges. Can you imagine the agony these families were in. Their loved ones were in the hands of savage murdering Islamic terrorists, and the government of the United States of America told them to stand down and step aside. They must have felt like they were a party to the tragic deaths of James and Steven. Whether they could have done anything or not is not the issue. The fact that they were threatened by their own government to do nothing is the issue.

Source

Try to Imagine..

Can you imagine how you would feel if your child was in the hands of Islamist terrorists and threatened with death? Wouldn't you try to come up with anything possible to diffuse the danger and bring him home. Your priority would not be the best interests of the United States. You are not a soldier or a politician. You are a parent, a brother or a sister. You want your loved one home and you would move heaven and earth to make that happen. What if you were stopped at every turn? What if you learned that President Obama played golf on the day your child was murdered? It is nearly impossible to imagine the suffering the Foleys and the Sotloffs went through and are still going through. The Bergdahl family was spared this particular agony, because the Obama Administration stepped in and negotiated for the release of their son by releasing 5 terrorists back into the world. Your President Obama must have been so proud of what he did. He invited the Bergdahl family to the White House for a photo op. That was a sad day for America.

No More Daydreaming!

It is time to access the reality of our world and make some critical decisions. Make no mistake ISIS is out for blood, dominance and control. They have no filters, no reservations, no regrets and no limits. They are animals. They don't care about international opinion. They don't care about collateral damage. They are not hampered by rules of engagement. They will stop at nothing to accomplish their goals, the total elimination of anyone who does not believe what they believe. We must take the threat seriously and we must be relentless and decisive in our quest to destroy them. We just learned today that an ISIS cell has formed at the Southern border. If the United States doesn't meet this threat with the full power that we possess, we will never win the war on terror. President Obama is afraid to call this a war, but a war it is and a war it must be. We need to strike them at the heart of their operation in Syria and Iraq and we need to protect our nation with every means available to us. President Obama failed to address the immediate threat to the United States in his pathetic address to the nation. They are at the back door and we must destroy them. Now is not the time, nor will it ever be, to shrink the Armed Forces and fire the generals who know how to fight a war. Now is the time to build a tighter and larger fighting force, because if we don't, America will be adrift and vulnerable in a world that has grown too dangerous for words.

I'll pray for you, but it won't be enough...Manny

Dear Brie,

Heartbreaking and unbelievable to me that the United States of America couldn't find these guys. See you at the Inn.

If the US government doesn't care to intervene with Mexico for the release of a Marine Sgt that has been in a Mexican prison since the end of April, why would we be able to do any better with ISIS?

Dear bradmaster,

You're right. Obama has no problem weighing in on local issues that should not be the province of the president, but when it comes to this young soldier, he has nothing to say. His mother and attorney are doing it all. See you at the Inn.

P OP: I heard about the Foley's being harrassed by the DOJ. Our government is shameful, and the sons of the Foleys and the Sotloffs paid the highest price because of this Administration, and their inept way of handling anything. then to have the DOJ threaten them! This is Chicago Politics as it's finest. I'm off to the bar......

I saw the interview with Brett Baer and the 3 men from Benghazi.....watched it late last night. Every emotion, fear and heartache I've ever experienced, simply overwhelmed me.

There was something TERRIBLY wrong from one end of this event to the other...inside and out.....The facts/story told by these 3 men who were present, in severe peril, fought back the only ways they could, saw comrades die & were injured themselves.....is powerful and egregious....If you haven't seen this interview, you MUST. It WILL horrify and anger you beyond description.

The news in your hub pop & Manny is MORE of the same.....unacceptable, unforgivable and intolerable. What do we do? What can we do? Congress, Heads of Military......please....Do something. Save this Nation. Be courageous. Take action. Screw the moron on the golf course. How long will you continue to cower and twiddle your thumbs? What's WRONG with you people???

LAW: The US does not deal with terrorists to ransom the release of prisoners, so therefore they order the parents of prisoners not to deal with terrorists.

************************************************************

PARENTS: Yes, Mr. President, but I promised God I'd take care of my children. What if they kill my son and I didn't do anything to stop it?

POTUS: No deals. We do not bargain with terrorists and we don't pay ransoms.

PARENTS: But it's my son! And you freed that one boy - Bergdahl. What about my son?

POTUS: That was an exchange, that wasn't a deal. We can't have parents dealing with terrorists because if one starts dealing, all will do it. No deals.

***************************************************

My comment:

I want to know what he said to those parents AFTER their sons were beheaded ----I hope one of them threw it up in his face that he told the parents to sit back and do nothing.

It's easy to say he's got daughters and has no idea what it is like to feel the threat of losing a son.

But what goes around comes around. Someday, the shoe will be on the other foot and something could happen to one of his daughters involving a deal. So, let's see if ransom or a deal is made then.

Pop and Manny,

The Obama presidency is rapidly surpassing all others as the saddest chapter in American history, bar none.

breakfastpop profile image

Dear Rachael,

Obama is devoid of feeling and it shows. He gets involved in local matters, but shrinks back when it comes to situations that require his attention. Threatening these already terrified parents was despicable any way you look at it, law or no law. Besides, Obama has broken the law so many times that telling the parents to do nothing because it is against the law is a sad, sick joke. See you at the Inn.

DSear Tom,

I agree. When I heard Obama talk about the core of his presidency I almost lost my breakfast. His core is empty. His passion is still at the community level. The world stage leaves him cold. See you at the Inn.

Did you get the buzz, on Cheney and Bush being the ones that enabled the creation of ISIS.

it was in an article by Robert Creamer in the Huffington Post.

My comment to it was that the religious discord in Islam was the direct result of the prophet Mohammed not seeing the need to select his successor.

Thanks

Dear bradmaster,

Actually, I didn't get the buzz. Frankly, this is all bull to me. President Bush predicted the rise of ISIS if we pulled out of Iraq. ISIS is al Qaeda on speed and all I know is that we had better get up to speed in order to deal with them and destroy them. There is no such thing as containment. See you at the Inn.

Americans, including yours truly, are having a very difficult time coming to terms with a president that so obviously does not have America's best interests in mind.

As you pointed out, Obama did negotiate with terrorists to bring home someone condemned by his fellow soldiers as a deserter, but threatened the families of entirely innocent journalists for negotiating with terrorists in a desperate attempt to save their own sons' lives.

Like the rest of you, I'm now having a hard time believing that my president actually cares about Americans and America.

I can never ignore US politics since the outcome or aftereffects will be coming with us soon here in Far East Pacific. They've been practicing drills here (both PH and US military) and threats are now being visible with the bullying of China in our territorial waters.

Good Morning Will,

I don't believe in him in any way whatsoever. Referring to him as Commander -in- Chief makes my skin crawl. He is inept, out of his league and in the wrong place at the wrong time. He can't even fake his love for America anymore. See you at the Inn. By the way, I wouldn't be surprised if money changed hands to secure the "release" of Bergdahl.

Dear travel man 1971,

Good Morning fp,

I did see the interview and My reaction mirrored yours. I hope and pray that Trey Gowdy gets the full story out there and that heads roll. If anyone can do it, he can. Our nation is going under because we have an incompetent socialist in the WH and a Congress that is frozen. When I think of all the damage Obama with the stupid help from the Dems have done, I am in shock. He still has lots to do and sadly, he has the time! I'll meet you at the Inn.

I have an approach for attempting to solve the problem in the Middle East.

We have tried other methods in different wars over the last seventy plus years. They all failed to make a stable change, and many just failed.

The original threat was Nazis, and Communism which are both non religious. Our attack on communism didn't really work.

Today our biggest threat outshines Communism, and it is Religion.

Specifically the Religion of Islam which is spread around the globe making it impossible to deal with it in specific locations.

The US is more capable of fighting Communism than Religion. The difference is in the structure of how they are organized.

Communists have a common playbook, while the Islam religion much like Protestants have divergences that make them different. In the case of Muslims the differences are deadly.

The approach to solve these divergences not only among the Muslims, but the rest of the religions is to find the common denominator for peace. That common denominator should be God, but unfortunately God by name only doesn't mean the same thing across the religions.

The Muslims all believe in Mohammed, but because Mohammed didn't select his successor the Muslims differ on who they will follow.

Unfortunately, in 632 A.D., he was poisoned to death, after his victory of a Jewish Settlement at Khaibar. This was weeks after he failed in his attempt to get to Mecca.

Mohammed was big on beheading.

Unless there is a new Messiah to unify the religions of the world, the solution will have to come from mere mortals. They have not been successful so far.

The Crusades should have given us a clue that military action is not the answer.

The real question is how to provide a common point for all religions to be acknowledged, and respected unless they use force as part of their religion.

This unity is much harder than diplomacy, but if it can be achieved then it will be more effective than military action.

The US Civil War is an example of how military action doesn't solve human issues.

The major differences between the religions of the world is not important, unless it uses deadly and inhumane force to get its way.

The question for the Muslims, is the use of terrorism, a core element of Islam, even though many of them don't use it?

People are born into a religion, and a political viewpoint. Many people over the course of time, change either or both of these based on their intelligence, education, and experience. The same is true for Muslims, but many of them are living a lot like their ancestors. This makes it difficult for them to evolve, and make their own decisions.

So the first plan of action is a serious communication to people that only have one source of communication, or at best a limited set.

ISIS is effectively doing that for their ideology, and it seems to be working better than our strategy.

Unfortunately, like the US, the minorities are getting a disproportionate following making the deviant into the norm. This is like a virus, it starts small but untreated it consumes the host.

So vet out mainstream Muslims, and determine if they in any way condone or support the terrorist approach for their religion. The vetting should go beyond mere words, or acknowledgements. It should go to the real intent, and that would be demonstrated by their actions.

Anyway, I had to share this with you.

thanks

bradmaster

Dear bradmaster,

The problem is, in my view, that there can be no common core of understanding if the goal of Islam is to rule the world. I believe that is the goal even among so -called moderate Muslims. Personally, I find very little evidence of their existence. I wonder how it would be possible to "vet" Muslims in America. The Koran says it is okay to lie if it is in the best interests of Islam. What's happening now with ISIS goes beyond the pale. They are savages and we had better take their threats seriously. Sadly, right now, we have a president who never takes the advice of those who are experienced when it comes to military matters. So many generals are speaking out against him and that is, to say the least, unusual. I don't foresee a time when Muslims will want to live their lives in peace, tolerant of others with different beliefs. The example of Israel and the Palestinians speak volumes. Hamas doesn't not want peace. They want the destruction of Israel. Until people come to accept that truth Israel will always be called upon to participate in negotiations that go nowhere and bombs will fly. Thanks so much for this interesting commentary. I'll see you at the Inn and drinks are on me.
