Will the governments of the world one day bring global peace??

The only circumstance that would achieve global peace would be a uniting of governments under one global government, with sharing of food and wealth as a consequence. The monitary system would have to be ratified and revolutionised. All this is unlikely unless the world is in absolute crisis, creating a need for a new thinking in regard to Humanity with a furure. Greed, our greatest foe, would have to be removed from our thinking. It's a beautiful dream though.

No....but the people of the world just might.  Governments habitually deviate from acting out the will of their own people.  They are subject to so many pressures all seeking something from them that invariably they are operating from a position in which they most often can please no one.  Government serves best when it is small and serving least.

It is from within the people themselves that peace may one day come.  Each individual is inhabited by a spirit which begins without the complexities with which we burden any will toward others.  When that spirit learns to shed its absolutes and doctrines of inflexible need, choose unconditional love, and lead by example of its own making then you will see a foundation laid upon which could form an interconnective and lasting peace.

that is the silliest thing i've ever heard. governments cause unrest and stop peace and will continue to do so. people in general are the only ones that can bring peace by starting to have real faith in each other . some believe in a god but few believe in each other which boggles my mind.

Yes. This is predicted in the Bible.  A world leader will bring a 7 year peace treaty with Isreal.  Peace will only last 3 and 1/2 years. Then the battle of Armageddon will start.  The world leader will be welcomed by muslims as their savior.  The Christians will know him from the book of Revelation as the Anti-christ.  Nobody will be able to buy or sell ANYTHING unless they receive a "mark" of allegiance to this world leader. The mark will be in each persons RIGHT hand or forehead.  All of this is foretold in the book of Revelation in the Bible. This mark is called the "mark of the Beast" in Revelation

The short answer is "no" because there is no common interest or goal associated with it...simply rhetoric. There will always be conflicts because the world is made up of people with totally different interests, religions, and beliefs.  Add to that the quest of greed, avarice, and power and the equation adds up to anything but love and peace.  Co-existence is likely the best that we can hope for and that is a stretch.  As long as religious zealots are willing to rage violence upon others who do not believe in the same way that they do, peace will be long in coming. I like to wish it might happen in my lifetime but being realistic, I do not know for sure if it will happen as there are many complications and power play comes in the picture.

@ tony delorger: kinda like the united nations??

@ cyrellys: its like saying everybody will all of a sudden decide to do good.. its impossible to achieve peace by ourselves (as in between us humans)

@ nightwork4: your first statement is the answer i was lookng for lol

@ wayne brown: its not about what different religions teach.. its about what the bible teaches

@ wealthseeker: it mite happen in ur lifetime after all.. many events are  leading us to safely conclude that the end is nigh

@ framistan: also known as 666.. the number represents the failure of human governments.. in the bible, 7 represents perfection or completeness.. 6 represents one away from perfection which would mean failure..777 would mean competeness times three or total perfection.. 666 means failure times three or total failure.. 666 is misinterpreted as the devils number but really it just represents the fact that humans cant govern themselves..

@ everyone: thnx for all ur responses.. if ya hav any questions about what i wrote to yall jus msg me itll b easier for me to keep up lol.. i appreciate that u all took the time to express your opinions
