Does the future scare you?
The pendulum is swinging - our natural resources will run dry, control of our environment is our of control and world peace is complicated. How do we guarantee a better life for all in our tomorrows?
As a Human, Created by God, I am simultaneously Alive, in my Past, Present and Future ...
My existence in Being ... thus, leaves little room for me to fear anything ... Save, my Lord and His Judgment.
Here, His Taught Prayers rescue me ... make me hope for His Mercy, and Beneficence, on The Day.
I think the future has always scared people regardless of when it was being discussed and that would be true for a number of reasons. It is human nature to resist change from the status quo. For the most part, the future is unknown and likely will require adjustment or change, thus we tend to dread that possibility. Humans tend to fear the unknown and certainly the future is the unknown so it is a natural reaction. I think those are the two biggest factors. From a practical standpoint, we should all take a good look at the future and decide how it will affect us or how we would like it to affect us. Sometimes, we do have a choice if we plan accordingly. We should attempt to be "in control" of our destiny to the greatest extent possible and that cannot happen unless we look ahead, plan for the worst, and pray for the best. WB
i'm not scared of the future because i think that soon humans will start realising that we can't keep living like we are and survive. i'm hoping that we will change like we always have to overcome our problems. were a smart race but we need to fail before we win, it's just how we are.
I am being held by the One who holds the future so why should I?
No, I don't worry about the future. I am concerned about future generations, the problems and challenges they will have. My faith keeps me grounded and gets me through the days and the future.
Have you heard the story about the man who refused to prepare for the flood?
When the waters started to rise, his neighbors said, "come with us to safety". The man declined and said,"I'm not afraid, God will protect me. I'll stay".
The waters continued to rise. Looking out his second story window he was spotted by an individual rowing a boat. They offered the man a lift to safety. The man declined, again saying, "God will protect me. I'll stay".
The flooding continued, forcing the man to climb onto his roof. A helicopter spotting the man circled overhead and asked on the speaker, "will you grab a hold of the life line I can drop down to you?". But the man hollered back up, "it's okay, my life is in the hands of God, he will protect me".
And so the waters rose and covered the man's home. He had nothing to hang onto, so he drowned.
Arriving at heaven, he asked God, "why didn't you protect me?" and God said, "I tried, I sent you three choices of survival, but you declined each one".
I believe God's master plan is to see how well we use our resources and care for our neighbours, not to wait for him to protect us once we've exhausted and abused everything.
Sometimes. I try very hard to live and breathe in the present, but I am not very good at it! When I think of the future I can get scared that people might be missing - people that I love. I also get scared about the world my children are inheriting. But I calm myself by remembering how wonderful the human spirit is.
Like Scrooge in " A Christmas Carol", the future or the unknown or Death scares us all. Living life one day at a time & having faith ( even if that faith is only that the the sun will rise in the morning) gives us the comfort & strength to carry on and take on the coming day.

I heard a radio program the other day. It reported on a study done on the future of our natural resources. The study results showed, that at the current rate of consumption, along with the population growth forcasts, we will exceed the available resources, by our demand, by the year 2030.That means...

If God is omni present and knows the past ,present, and future, then why would he test us when...he already knows the outcome of our actions?

If your 17 year old daughter had sex and had a pregnacy scare, should the mother punish her?The mother had sex at 17 also, but the mother got pregnant. And the mother says she does not hate her daughter, but says she is on her "shit list"

Why do people fear the unknown?I do not understand why people fear the unknown. I would not fear the unknow, I would fear pain, I know pain hurts. The unknown will be unknown until it is time for me to find out. It is like people who fear the future, why? Just deal with today.

Do You Think Jesus Was A Time Traveler?Reading what people tell me about Jesus and he is talking about the future as it is happening right at this very minute, it seems to me that they think he is a time traveler. How else can he tell us what is happening today over 2000 years ago in the...
