What nation ISN'T playing a double game? Do you think the U.S., for example, went into war with Iraq merely because Hussein was a "bad guy"? No, of course we invaded and sought Saddam because of oil rights. Did we ever care about the plight of ordinary Iraqi citizens (or women, in particular) before the price of oil was jeopardized?
So, Pakistan....certainly some Pakistanis knew that bin Laden was in Pakistan. Certainly some Pakistanis protected him from capture. Why not?
Can Pakistan be trusted? The truth is much deeper than we, the common people, are aware of. We let some truths and deceptions go by as we glean the location of other truths that benefit America. This is politics in real life.
Having lived and worked in Pakistan, I find that the dark brutal truths of reality in Pakistan are definitely no more dark or unrealistic than the crap that we deal with on a daily basis coming from the US government stance on most subjects -- think: banking scandals w/ bank getting bail-outs and tax credits, agent Orange, Nicaragua guns-for-food high-jinks, etc. The list could go on forever, really.
Pakistanis are merely upset that the US is not working to save 'face' for the direct killing of bin Laden, of which Pakistani intel was certainly a part of helping define the target. Saving face is a universal need, and Pakistan has to make a protest as part of their 'saving face' ritual.
