   I think that statistically, women get into more "small" accidents because they are most distracted drivers, but men get into more fatal accidents because they tend to take more risks. Of course, I know many men and women who are lousy drivers, so it depends on the individual in my book.

   From my experience and observations. Men are statistically better drivers. We concentrate mostly on the task at hand...driving. Women tend to think more about events of the day, new relationships, and the past. I think women are much more emotional and tend to lose focus and get distracted more.
   
   But you can scrub all that, just checked the highway and insurance statistics and yes men take more risk, therefore get into more accidents. But your question is are men better drivers than women? My answer will still be, yes men are better drivers. I think we have faster reflexes.
   
   Example, race car drivers are mostly comprised of men drivers and yes women drivers are professional drivers too. They get into horrible accidents, but they are professionals. Hope that made sense.

   I haven't seen any evidence to suggest that men are better drivers, and I've seen some suggesting the reverse--men are at fault in accidents more often than women.
   
   Well, I guess men are better drivers in Saudi Arabia--in that they are the only drivers legal there.  Scarcely a big brag. . .

   Well in my country the mens are perfect drivers then women and womens are driving with fear because they not have much knowledge about traffic rules.

    The truth is, using myself and my own hubby as examples........
    
    
    He IS, by far, a better skilled "defensive" driver........I  have been in the vehicle when he has avoided accidents, while pulling a trailer, and he can certainly " park " it or " back" it quicker than I can.  I can do it, but it is not pretty!
    
    
    It IS me, however, who better avoids those " defensive" measures.   It is I, who seeks better clearance, better manuverabilty, more distance.....to avoid those 'defensive' measures..................He will tell you this.
    
    
    Just make the most of the skill and abililty of what you have..........stop making it about gender.
    
    
    In our marriage, he  has " wrecked" and "totaled"  3 of my vehicles, I have had a "fender bender" in 1 of his, he has hit a deer, 3 times in one truck, I have hit one in my lifetime of driving................yet, he wants to drive me, in my truck on icy hiways........................I THINK...........NOT, I trust my own self, in my vehicle!
    
    But at the end of the day..........I do not put myself in the same situations that he finds.................uhm, let me say, " challenging".( nor am I am the 'grey hair", attempting to merge with 70mph traffic from a standstill.)
    
    Having grown up with 6 brothers,  I have learned........men are stonger, and have bigger muscles, they are " diferent".........but,they are no better than me.  Sometimes, their prowness, makes them less than me.

    It doesn't matter what your gender is, is just matters how skilled you are with driving! I've seen posts before mind stating that women are more 'unfocused' than men, and a few other sexist comments, and I just think that, well, that is untrue! Just matters on your skill and attention span, not your sex.

    My husband says so. I don't know driving so there is no question of comparison but I think the ego of the men make them say so. .

    I think that it depends on the driver, and the gender doesn't come into it. I have seen some really bad female drivers on the road, but equally some bad male drivers. Personally speaking, my partner is a better driver than me, and reverses into the tightest spaces successfully. My motto is "If I can't drive in, then drive off."

    I don't know about the rest of the world, but in the USA men are more likely to die in car accidents (especially young men) then women. This to me, says that men take more risks with driving, so we may get there faster then women, but a few of us may die along the way.

    Studies have shown that this is correct. For every 4 car accidents men have women have 5.
