Is the proposed fence between Canada and the U.S. needed?
the U.S. wants to build a fence along our borders. is it needed or are they becoming paranoid ?
Seriously??????????????????????????
WTF?
I've not heard of this at all, and I'd imagine that hardly anyone here has, as our utterly pathetic and universally corrupt media wouldn't be reporting on that.
Yep, you have to keep us dangerous Canadians out of the US. Or the opposite for us to keep you out...
It is ridiculous. We have not needed it for over 200 years... Personally, I think the borders should be opened up like they are in Europe.
I heard about this a few months ago too. It's mind-boggling why there would be money spent on such a fence when money is turning-out to be such a high-end commodity and is certainly needed for other, more important things ...
Politicians seem to be extremely disconnected from the public and that is the case world-wide, not only in the United States. It is quite shameful that people are no longer represented by their politicians and the only things that matter in government, are matters put forth by lobbyists. We're living in a System made-up by crooks, for the crooks ...
This is just another utterly stupid idea. It's so ironic that after an American president told the Soviets to "tear down that wall", a vast number of Americans believe that they can be safe by walling themselves in.
No way. That's just being paranoid. We have the largest unprotected border in the world and it works just fine. Besides, if they build a fence the drug smugglers would just keep using their underground tunnels anyway ; )
For 200 years it hasn't been an issue, and now it is? I think not. We've never needed one, nor will we ever. Besides, it would be too restrictive and might prevent me from acquiring some tasty maple syrup to add to my pancakes. Now THAT would be a problem, eh?
I hadn't heard it seriously proposed by anyone. It is just a PC BS reaction to calls for a fence and tighter security along the Southern border with Mexico.
Better than any fencing would be to recall all of our military from around the globe, close every base we don't need in the US and place bases and personnel along both borders.
The reason for the northern bases isn't because there is any problems with snow-backs but to give us bases to train our people in every imaginable terrain. They could work in full combination with Canada and make both countries stronger.
Equally important is to set up things like E-verify and routine ID checks when other inspections are made at business and construction sites.
We also need a approved worker plan that lets people work in agriculture or other industries that can show an inability to cover their needs with American workers. Those employers, however, need to pay for their health care and education rather than leave the taxpayers holding the bag for the billions in costs.
Because we don't need them preaching all of their Frenchy baking techniques and hockey gimmicks to good-ole apple pie-eating American children. If anything, Canadians should be trying to figure out how to move their entire country away from our trigger-happy paranoid leaders. Forget Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and all of those other dark-skinned people that we teach our people to hate...it's those pesky Candians that are the real threat. If you live in a Northern American border state, you might want to apply for dual citizenship with Canada just in case that wall is being put up to keep you in.
Yes US need fencing every where , on Mexico Border, on Canada Border and on FED Barrowing and around pentagon. Because if US is fenced then there is no danger to world from contagion and criminals. All big criminals and drungs are financed from US.

Now they are proposing that our ever so efficient politicians and other government agencies should be able to snoop into who we are contacting at any time, by recording all our emails, Skype conversations and social network messaging on a database.1) Total hypocrisy as both the Tories and Lib Dems...
