Corruption in any society is one of the parameters and reflects on the national character of the people. Any Nation is nothing but a congregation of individuals who share some common history and hence some similar social, economic and political behavioral traits. Prior to the October Revolution in Russia, during the Tsarist regime and then the Provisional Government, corruption had peaked in Russia. Similar history are to be noted in different parts of the world.
Corruption will definitely be accompanied by financial crisis and as a result this negative social economic prevalent order will be causal to the development of its antithesis in the social consciousness, as per the Marxian school of thought.
The individual, the smallest entity to any society must be instrumental in fighting corruption. As we become aware of our own contribution to the corruption pattern, in either our apathy to oppose it in our daily transactions, or our willing participation in order to make life easy, and as we as individuals develop a better code of conduct, so will the National or social outlook on the corrupt be looked upon as aberrations and sieved out. But that means raising the scale of the National character. Are we ready to not take that short cut, in getting the rise that should go to another, by offering the boss some unethical collateral? Are we ready to not get our child admitted to the best school, by offering hefty donations? Are we ready to remain socially ineffective by avoiding the company of the political miscreants, who are otherwise powerful ? Solution of corruption, like charity, begins at home. But we are usually ready to put the blame on the neighbor and not do a self-appraisal.
offcourse you are right, but what you think about lok pal Bill?

While a 28th Amendment stating that corporations are not people and money is not speech would be ideal - how about compulsory voting? What if we used the carrot approach - say increasing tax-credits for voting in primary, mid-term/off-year, and local elections? The more active the...

Give me your opinions. It's completely open for discussion.I'm looking to see who actually has a grasp on the situation at hand and who is blowing smoke from a political stand point.Yes, government spin, deceitfulness, and a lack of knowledge has caused the problem. The question is how to fix...
