Why do US governments think they are the 'World Police'?
Either really powerful people think they are the world police or weak people assume foolishly that they are the world police. In either case, they start dominating the world. But only the strong nation can succeed really in this. In the forest, both lion and fox try to dominate the other animals. For a while, the fox may succeed, but it is the lion that is the king of the forest. Likewise USA and Iran are both behaving in a dominant mood and threatening others. But Iran is like a fox. It will run away at a real threat or attack to itself. It is the USA that is a strong country and will continue to dominate for some more time.
If only we were! The UN is the world police. The US is only the town bully who takes what he wants, beats up who he wants, and intimidates the police (whom have deputized him). Unfortunately, the bully now has tertiary syphilis and is living on borrowed time and borrowed money.
I think their 'police' status is falling. With their economic-recession and war on terror almost at an end, I doubt they'll be known as the world police for very much longer.
They've been the dominate superpower since Russia failed - now China is becoming the new-superpower. Let's see if America has their way around the world when China becomes the new Russia to content with. Let's not hope they have a radical idea on Communism spreading as well, I doubt China are like the Russians.
Because there is lots and lots of profit in war. And if we have endless war, the corporations and their political bedfellows who profit from war can profit from it endlessly.

Ok so this is one of those rare occasions I'm in the top ten with a score of 100 but I notice the rest of the top ten are apparently women (you can never be sure on HubPages!). Similarly there is apparently only one other man in the top 20, Mark Knowles (I say apparently because 'frog...

In this unprecedented time when nations such as the United Kingdom and the U.S.A. are in complete Lockdown, are we in danger of allowing the solution or mitigation of this Covid-19 virus to do more harm than good?

Why do we ask government for help? The point of The Constitution was to restrain the power of government. Today we want to give more power to the government. Really the more power we give them, the worse things get for the people. I am curious, why are people still looking towards...

If you could change one thing about the world we live in today, what would that be?Would you want the world to have world peace, take care of the forest or would you just like the neighbor to turn down his music at night time? What would you personally like the world to have different than it is...
