Personally, I do not want government, at any level, to "focus" on any social problem.
I believe that it is up to "We, The People" to "focus" on the social problems that exist in the U.S., including homelessness, teen pregnancy, criminal behavior by minors, security issues in the public schools, and I could go on.
It is time for the people of America to undertake a bold new movement based entirely on high degrees of volunteerism, self-reliance, self-determination and community/neighborhood initiatives to address local social problems.
In my opinion, government never has been, and never will be, able to effectively address America's social ills.
And I believe that proof of that is the fact that our society is plagued by as many social ills as it is today -- even though during a period spanning many decades, government has been carrying out a huge number of programs to address social problems.
