This 700 B.C. relief from Northern Syria shows a Hittite mom, happily breastfeeding her almost teenage boy in the outdoors. The origins of the famous 'mommy's boy' culture of the Mediterraneans and the Middle East became a little bit more clear to me. For example, every other Armenian folksy song is about the respectful, caring and sacrificing mother, almost always sang by a macho male singer; or consider the infamous and dangerous Italian Mafia mommy-boys' phenomenon :-) you can also see similar parallels in the cultures of Iran, Greece and other countries in these areas of the world!
