What is human decency to you? Are you a decent human being?
Human decency is in short supply. I think it's time to stop complaining about how everything and everyone is so "messed up" and start being an example and showing others how it's done. I try to be a decent human being. Do you? What makes a decent human being to you?
Human decency, as I see it, involves respecting the dignity of each person, keeping in mind that none of us is perfect, each of us needs forgiveness, and each of us is a human being whom God has created and whom God loves.
Good question!
I too, try to be a decent human.
How do I do it?
In many ways I guess. I think about how the other person is feeling. I try to put myself in their shoes, so that I can at least try to understand.
I am kind, and try to give of myself...which sometimes I do too much.
I like to make people happy, so I do little things for them to make them smile. Even if it is just a flower from my garden to one of my neighbors. She is 101, and doesn't get out much, and I know she likes flowers.
I help out in the community, and volunteer for many children's activities. After all, children are our future, and need to learn decency from others.
People who are decent, are good listeners when you need an ear. They love you no matter what your faults...and take you at your best or worst.
Everyone is not messed up. It is just their priorities and morals that are messed up. If they could see what they are doing, not only to themselves, but others, I think they would have a change of heart.
Blessings!
I like to think that I'm a decent human. I'm kind and polite and I treat people the way that I'd like to be treated. I'm extremely respectful as far as other people's views are concerned. When I see a person who needs help, I do what I can to assist...
There are a lot of decent human beings out there but unfortunately the ones who aren't so decent stick out like sore thumbs.
Decency is about being honest with oneself and with others. I can say with total certainty that I will roast in hell.
Human decency is respecting others. To quote the Biblical standard (paraphrased) "treat others as you would have others treat you." In other words, if you love yourself, make perfection your aim, and understand with compassion human life then you will follow through demonstrating this in your life. Ben Franklin had thirteen virtues he tried to follow and one he narrowed in on daily. Although it is difficult to attain this (and he would have agreed), setting our goals to serve others with honor, trustworthyness and deceny is a noble pursuit.

Does being a good person even matter anymore?Have you ever had a bad day? Bad week? Bad Month? How about a bad year? Or maybe you have had a bad life? Have you ever looked at another person and asked yourself how their life can be so much better than yours? I am not talking about...

Why are hairstylist stereotyped as being dumb? After getting a rather rude comment - and responding back, I was told... "***Your*** opinion (what are you...a hair cutter) means ***nothing*** to me!" It makes me wonder why people perceive cosmotolgists, hair stylists or even barbers as...
